I'm not jumping on the review bomb train, this was one of my most anticipated games of the year so I'm not happy about writing this review. No the 30fps and performance issues are not the only problem with this game. It lacks creativity and vision. It feels like a game that Arkane was forced to make. There's no cutscenes, multiple unique and cool approaches to encounters, no real stealth mechanics other than going invisible for one of the characters and suppressors. Stealth has been done far better in Dishonored, Prey, and Deathloop. This was a game that has issues from the beginning, with a lack of passion and attention being at the core of this.

Great game so far! I wish there was more emphasis on choice and consequence but the world and gameplay is great. I'm not a Harry Potter fan but I love open world RPG style magic games so I had to try it out

While the gameplay hasn't changed much compared to GoW 2018, the story has improved immensely. The characters have major development and we get to see brand new characters brought into the mix that all shine. There's much more to do in this game and the quality is higher than ever.

As Dusk Falls7
Jul 20, 2022
As Dusk Falls explored many interesting concepts and ideas, it ultimately fell flat in some key aspects. I enjoyed the writing and thought the dialogue/choice systems were done pretty well. I wasn't a fan of the slideshow style even though the art itself was beautiful. I would've preferred something a bit more visually interesting so it could help pull me in and keep me invested. Because of the slideshow style, I always felt a bit on the outside looking in, like I was reading a book. It made it hard to connect with the characters.

As someone who plays many open-world games and RPGs, this is one of my least favorite in years. While the city looks pretty, the content is lacking. The combat is far too limited to be enjoyable, the side quests and activities are boring, and the story/protagonist is not compelling. I have 14 hours in the game and have discovered nearly the entire map, so I feel more than qualified to give a rating at this point. I bought this game for $30 in a PS sale and I still don't recommend it to my friends. I know that many people like the game but please watch extended gameplay so you can see how it is for yourself before making the purchase.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition10
May 5, 2022
While this game is still buggy and the graphics haven't aged very well, it is the most fun and iconic video game I've ever played. I've been playing it since 2011 and the modding community had made this last as long as it has. I love the environments that it has set up and the expansive lore. I don't feel like I need to do much more convincing cause if you haven't played it by now, what are you doing!?!?

Fantastic story, environments, combat, pacing. It's all wonderful and I don't think I need to say anything more to justify this game as being one of the best PS exclusives ever.

Elden Ring7

This is my first souls game ever, and I'm loving it! I haven't beat the game yet but I've put about 30 hours in and I'm very far into the game. The reason I've given it a 7/10 is because of the performance issues. Framerate is extremely unstable on the PS5 version and the pop-in is a nightmare. While the game is still playable, it feels extremely unpolished on a technical level and makes me wonder how they thought it was okay to release in this condition. I know many others are having the same issues and if you're wanting more information on what I mean, watch the Digital Foundry video that analyzes the game's performance on consoles. If the game did not have so many technical issues, I'd probably give it a 9/10, but I have to score it based on how it performs now, not how it may perform after 2-3 more patches.

The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series10

Telltale games are unrivaled when it comes to story, writing, choices, and consequences. There are not many games that stack up to this. It is one of my favorite games of all time and I can't wait for their next projects.

It Takes Two10
Feb 26, 2022
It Takes Two is the best co-op game I've ever had the pleasure of playing. It's a long game that offers so much, yet never gets stale or predictable. This was 100% deserving of receiving GOTY for 2021. I recommend playing this with someone you're close with, whether it's a significant other, family member, or best friend. I played this with my dad and we had an absolute blast.

The Outer Worlds8
Feb 26, 2022
This game is a lot of fun and is designed very well. It's on a smaller scale in terms of pure size, as there are multiple smaller areas to explore, rather than one extremely large area like Skyrim or Fallout 4. The combat is probably my biggest criticism, but the dialogue, characters, story, and world-building are so fun. This is one of the more enjoyable RPGs I've played in recent years and I'm so excited for the sequel!

This game is awesome! The story and dialogue are so good, the art style is great, and I am so excited for the sequel. There is no combat, so watch a review from a source you trust and understand what you're signing up for before you purchase the game. It's not for everyone. I really can't recommend it enough though.

Ghost of Tsushima9
Feb 26, 2022
I initially wasn't interested in Ghost of Tsushima but decided to give it a shot at launch because I needed something to play. This is one of the best PlayStation games out to date and the combat is incredible. The PS5 Director's Cut is even better with the DLC and updated performance/visuals.

Firewatch9

Firewatch is such a good story. It's relaxing but keeps you invested in what is going on. I would call this a story-based experience rather than a video game and I mean that in the best way possible.

Red Dead Redemption 210

The Last of Us Part II9
Feb 26, 2022
I can't believe that this game was review bombed so heavily. While this game is not what most expected, myself included, the story, gameplay, and acting are fantastic. I needed to play it twice to process how I felt about the game. Give the game a chance and keep an open mind, because I feel that it is an incredible experience.

Horizon Forbidden West8
Feb 26, 2022
This is a great sequel to Zero Dawn! If you enjoyed the first game, then you'll enjoy this. The new environments and details are jaw-dropping. The characters are more expressive and fleshed out, and the story and content are definitely a step above the previous game. It's a really enjoyable experience and is an absolute must-try.
