Dynasty Warriors 410
Jul 8, 2023
The 4th dynasty warriors, 3rd hack n slash entry, 3nd one I ever owned and first that has semihalf decent voice acting. Scrapping random weapon pick ups for an experience based weapon progression is one of the best things dynasty warriors ever did... once. In this game. And its brilliant. More incentive for using different combos and juggling as well as playing as as many characters as possible. 8 long campaigns instead of 40 middling campaigns with secret items, weapons, levels and characters this game is as in depth and rich as the franchise needed to be without feeling overstuffed

Final Fantasy Origins7
Jul 8, 2023
If you want to play final fantasy 1 and/or 2 on the playstation one then this is probably your best bet. Final fantasy 1 is a fantastic first entry in the long running franchise with simple pick up and play gameplay with simple but deep mechanics. Final fantasy 2 decided that being successful wasn't good enough so scrapped it with a system where your stats increase based on what weapons you use or damage you take. Something elder scrolls would perfect 20 years later this is just a bare bones turn based easily exploitable and therefore not that enjoyable experience. Also comes with a free glitch.

Time Crisis 310
Jul 8, 2023
You'd think after three tries there'd be less of a crisis and more of a time mismanagement Time Crisis With A Vengeance takes what works with time crisis 2 and adds more guns, levels, a second player with unique enemy placement and much more rich and vibrant locations and enemies.

Jak II3
Jul 8, 2023
Naughty dog began it's journey to darker gritty games by taking a colourful platformer and saying 'nope.'
Whilst the direction thr company has since taken with absolute masterpieces like the last of us and uncharted, quite why they decided to drastically change the genre of jak and daxter is beyond me. The grittier nature of the story is fine however everything that happened in the precursor legacy is irrelevant and almost completely discarded for a more mad max style adventure.

Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando10
Jul 8, 2023
Take off your undergarments it's time to lombax! What happens when you take everything that made your first game successful and ... make it better?
This happens. Weapon levelling system to incentivise using all the amazing weapons this game has to offer, a new health system that scales on how strong your enemies are, armour, raritanium, new amazing gadgets and relatively bearable clank missions.
The new game plus mode which the series has became famous for is taken to a new level where you can purchase upgraded versions of your weapons if you've maxed their level. The difficulty jump is rewarded with a bolt multiplier incentivising more strategic gunning gameplay to upgrade your weapons as fast as possible.
Introduces the arena and the 101 collectible quest which became staples in future games, this game set the standard for action platformers that no-one has been able to match since.

Call of Duty5
Jul 8, 2023
Where it all began, and it plays like a completely different game.
Much more of a medal of honor clone than a new take on the historical first person shooter, Activisions first attempt with call of duty falls flat amidst a sea of much better games of its own genre.

Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly0
Jul 8, 2023
Banned in many countries for unnecessary dragonfly intercourse spyro please don't enter the dragonfly took everything good with spyro and made sure no-one could play it on the playstayion 2.
If the game was functional in any way shape or form this could actually be a half decent game.
If the game was finished in any way shape or form this could actually be a half decent game.
If chasing dragonflies with pathetic bubble breath was replaced with any other mechanic imaginable this could actually be a half decent game.
But it's not. It's dreadful. Don't play it.

Rayman Arena9
Jul 8, 2023
Known as Rayman M in Europe because arena is way too aggressive.
One of the funnest video games featuring a frog and robot pirates. The variety of modes and steady increase in difficulty as you play through the single player mode give this game oodles of replayability.

Star Wars: Bounty Hunter3
Jul 8, 2023
If you like hunting bounty then look no further than bounty hunter. Unless you want a good video game.
The idea of playing as boba fett in the star wars underworld on paper sounds like one of the best ideas of all time. Unfortunately a boring story, linear progression and stifled gameplay make this a slog rather than a joy to finish.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets8
Jul 8, 2023
The secret is: it was voldemort all along! A surprisingly strong follow up to the playstation 1 game, expanding hogwarts and the spells you can learn whilst having far superior character models and graphics thanks to the new ps2 hardware. You can actually lose the house cup in this game and quidditch feels like it's own thing in this game as apposed to flying through hoops.
Harry potter snd the chamber of secrets for thenplaystation 2 also has the return of everyone's favourite spell, flippendo.

Spider-Man: The Movie9
Jul 8, 2023
Definitely the best way to play Spiderman (2002) on the playstation 2.
Following the main plot of the film with added villains and side plots, this game set the benchmark for movie-tie in games. Playing as Spiderman is the most fun it's been since Spiderman 2:enter electro, the combat is refined from Spiderman ps1 outings yet more expansive too. On the harder difficulties waves of enemies are a real threat and every boss fight is a memorable joy forcing you to understand how best to control everyone's favourite Web slinger.
Also you can play as the green goblin which is just the coolest f***ing thing ever.

Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure8
Jul 8, 2023
Did you like crash bandicoot warped on the playstation 1? Then you will definitely have an opinion on this game! Taking everything that made crash bandicoot work in 3d and translating it to 2d is no easy task. But they did it, and very successfully. Whilst some of the time trials feel like the developers wanted you to know what pain in your soul feels like, the rest of the game boss battles included are surprisingly faithful to our favourite marsupials 3d counterpart.

Dynasty Tactics6
Jul 8, 2023
A passable take on the three kingdoms saga. Focusing heavily on strategy and turn based combat could have worked however the difficulty spike after the first couple of hours of gameplay tied with no real way to level up your characters to make the difficulty more bearable make this one of koeis weaker translations of their favourite novel.

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers7

A fun if at times frustrating action video game that highlights the main plot lines from the two towers. Play as aragorn legolas or gimli across the levels fighting waves of orcs and uruk hai.

Kingdom Hearts9
Jul 8, 2023
Mixing disney and final fantasy together with an original storyline and characters that melt your heart. A compelling story about friendship and forgiveness coupled with one of the most innovative combat systems seen in gaming at this point. Future entries expand on what is begun here but make no mistake this is a fantastic video game that will delight any age for hours.

Ratchet & Clank8
Jul 8, 2023
One of the strongest original IPs on the playstation 2. Hot on the heels of spyro the dragon success insomniac nail another action platforming game. Whilst it doesn't have the indepth mechanics and replayability of later titles, Ratchet and Clank is an exceptional start to a beloved franchise.
