One of my wife's favorite games. Something we didn't expect to be good, ending up giving her hours of free enjoyment. The use of the new controller is phenomenal adding a new layer to all the simple tasks you are given. She kept stopping to tell me to look at something cute, and as I sat back to listen I noticed the music was very good and quite catchy. Because it's free and everybody gets to play it this is easily a 10.

One of the greatest games ever made, is remade to look the way it always should have. Everything is enhanced and/or better realized in this new version. While the game plays the exact same as the original, the drastically improved framerate and new animations make it a much more enjoyable experience. One of the best launch games ever for a video game console and the only way anybody should ever experience Demon's Souls.

One of my favorite open world games of all time. Has the best combat system in a open world rpg even better than God of War. The game is very beautiful but the HDR can seem overdone. With many bloom instances blinding you because they are overly bright. Pretty basic mission design is the main thing that holds it back. The island has been captured and nearly all missions are fight to save somebody or fight to recover somebody/something. It wouldn't be that big of a deal if the characters you interacted with were better. They really needed some better writing and some more bonding moments. Maybe just an improvement to the character interactions with less standing and talking scenes. It wont be a big distraction just clearly something that needs improving. The game world is expertly crafted and exploring it is a joy. Some big time set piece battles are very well done and you should flip your PS4 pro over to performance mode before going into those fights. A decent amount of cosmetic collectibles and suits of armor that are all designed with abilities for different playstyles. Took me 40 hours or so to finish everything and get the platinum trophy... I wasted lots of time fighting trash enemies that pop up around the map so it can be done shorter. Haven't enjoyed a open world game this much since the Witcher 3 even if it does fall short in that comparison.

It's hard to give this game less than slightly above average due to it's technical accomplishments in nearly every department. From the voice acting and character models all the way down to the lamp on the table everything is masterfully done. The combat is good enough to carry you through a great story except there isn't a great story. This isn't the Witcher 3... you wont come out with fond memories and characters you'll love and cherish for all time. Instead you'll be frustrated about the direction characters take and hate all the characters involved. By the end you'll probably wonder why you wasted your time here with these terrible people. There won't be a 10 year anniversary video for The Last of Us 2 like the Witcher 3 got. You'll be ready to move on immediately to wash the taste out of your mouth. As time has gone on I only hate the game more and more. So much so that my original score of 6 makes me angry. I can't give technical accomplishments in graphics that much of an impact when my feelings are so negative to the game. Moving my score from mixed to negative.

After spending a few days with the beta and playing a day early using the New Zealand trick.... the game seems very very basic. After completing the first few dozen missions for a faction which are identical to each other. Most of which take place on the same island or islands you keep returning too with no enemy variations and about 95% of your time will be travel time. There are some hints that maybe things improve as you level up in the factions but i'm now doing missions on their 3rd level and the game didn't improve. It would probably improve with friends but you definitely shouldn't go into this by yourself. *wanted to add my thoughts on the progression which looks to be entirely cosmetic based... which would be nice but the game turned into just doing a bunch of boring repeatable fetch quests for hours to paint your weapon blue or put on a coat. Played it a lot more. After a lot of updates. It's still meh mostly a colossal waste of time. Sometimes it can be fun with a good event and a good pvp battle. But most of the time people just want to waste your time. Should still avoid unless your preferred play-style is to get with a group of friends and try to mess up other peoples days. Besides that you should just avoid.

mildly interesting dating simulator. The combat is grossly overrated with dodges and blocks that you can't be sure will actually work. Overall it just feels terrible to fight but it is a big step up from the FF15 combat while still looking flashy and cool. The game has great graphics sometimes but last gen graphics others. So many things are ultra low resolution awkwardly. Poorly designed world to wander around in with lots of low quality hallways. Not even a single side quest of quality is present in this game and to top it all off the story is cut short.... stuffed with filler to just be cut short. This painfully average game is largely propped up by fond memories of what was once an amazing game from our childhoods.

Likable well acted characters, a good story, beautiful graphics, and fun combat. Barrows a lot from the souls games. Has a open worldish map to explore with a bonfire checkpoint system that refills your healing items plus respawns enemies and very similar parry guard mechanic to Sekiro. Which leads into why it's only an 8. It does everything worse then Sekiro. Combat is less refined, less precise, and not as well thought out. Boss fights are terrible and only 1 puts on a good show when nearly all of Sekiro's are great. The open world feels not as well designed and exploring it leads to rewards that are just uninteresting cosmetic clothing options. Combat options like stealth are nonexistent. This game is a 9/10 star wars game playing like a 6/10 Sekiro copy. But it works and is a very enjoyable game. Finished my one playthrough on Grandmaster difficulty and Jedi: Fallen Order on Grandmaster is easier than Sekiro if anybody was curious. Enemy damage feels off in Grandmaster with some being too low and others seeming too high. It's clearly not as refined as Sekiro's difficulty. I could easily see large sections of the game being way too easy if you drop the difficulty because it not only reduces their damage and aggressiveness it also gives a big increase to the parry window. If you enjoy the challenge any less than Grandmaster is probably out of the question.

Plagued with technical problems and performance far lower than should be possible with such aged graphics. Besides sentimental value for a game you loved in the past there isn't much reason to get this. It's painfully obvious how out dated the games feels to just move. Modern shooters have improved the feel of aiming, movement, shooting so much that Reach was painful to play through. The story may have been decent in the past but it isn't anything special and falls way short by today's standards. I picked up this collection for my memories of combat evolved and halo 2/3. I never played reach and since it's the only game currently available I dove in. Without any good past memories of the game I can safely say this was the last time i'll ever play Halo Reach.

fantastic game. The only thing that holds it back is lack of maps and bosses. It's cheap so that can be forgiven to a point. But what is here is a great mix of stealth and action, across 2 excellently detailed maps, with a good variation of monsters and bosses. It becomes repetitive really quick if your fond of the pve part that is mixed with pvp and want both to be equal focus. But if you are a fan of the pvp part primarily and the pve stuff is just a tool to find people then you will like it longer.

The best metroidvania game I've ever played. Oozing with charm from a large number of interesting characters and filled to the brim with secrets and optional paths. On a second playthrough you'll have completely different moves at different times because you've discovered hidden entrances to zones. There are a decent number of powerful builds and you'll find yourself changing skills around to experiment often as you progress. The controls are tight and responsive making it a joy to play. The free additional content steps the challenge up a bit and the ultra end game god DLC is a tedious slog that most players will find to hard to be worth it. It also feels out of place changing the style of the game completely just being a near endless boss rush. But as free extra content it's something for ultra hard core fans who want the most extreme challenge after they have sunk their 30 hours into the main game.

Instant game of the year contender. From Software's Sekiro shows why it was going to be a Tenchu game. It's lineage is undeniable but this is the most hardcore Tenchu game you've ever played. It's without a doubt easier and harder than their previous souls series. The general enemies are easier then they have ever been because you can stealth kill everybody in the level if you so choose. But then the mini bosses and actual bosses come along... They aren't the most difficult bosses but they are very challenging and there are very few options to power up and brute force your way through a boss. You can farm xp and money to buy new skills and other things but you can't raise your base stats. If you aren't sure of yourself or willing to improve you could hit a brick wall after a few hours and give up. If you can make it past the first mini boss and main boss then you are set. When going through the game the path you are on may not be the lowest level/easiest way and there is no way to tell so if you get stuck just try a different path in the world. This will help you gradually improve your character as you find beads in chests, from vendors, or from any mini bosses you manage to kill. These gives you extra HP and stamina to block with. If you manage to kill any main boss you get a permanent damage boost. You may also stumble across the more than a dozen weapons you can equip on your shinobi arm. Find one that really makes you more comfortable when you play is a huge benefit. Combat is very responsive and nearly all the problems like phantom hits, delayed actions after button presses, and unresponsive controls from the souls series have been fixed. On my 1080ti at 4k I get a solid 60fps on a mixture of High and Highest settings so the game runs well also much better than previous From games. Try not to get too angry when you sit back and enjoy ancient castles, bamboo forests, acid swamps, mountain side temples, forsaken villages, and more in this gorgeous modern Tenchu game. #gameoftheyear maybe

They should have never released a Division 2. Right now it's barren... stripped of features and modes... missing a decent end game loop and end game activities. Looking at these live service games it's clear they should never have a sequel. Right now the best way to play The Division is to buy The Division 1 that is loaded with years worth of additions. It's a better game with more value at a significantly cheaper price. Just play that for a good year and come back when The Division 2 adds all the missing content slowly throughout 2019. It'll be cheaper and a much better game... maybe even better than The Division 1 if it gets enough DLC.

A failure that didn't learn from years and years of watching it's competitors struggle. Some good idea's that ended up in a inadequate slog through extremely limited content. Mission variation and enemy variation are the worst of any game in this genre. In 6 months maybe it'll be base Destiny 2 and in a year or so after it gets a massive free DLC maybe it will be acceptable. The biggest question is with such a terrible start.... will EA support the game and continue the free DLC idea? What if Bioware doesn't survive? We all heard this game was a last shot for Bioware and it was all studios on deck to try and save the company.

The only thing holding the game back is a lack of enemies. Bosses quickly start to repeat and enemy's are far too common. If they should have thrown in another 10 unique enemies for boss fights... it would have been a huge boost to the game. This isn't The Witcher 3 with 130 different enemies. You'll fight the same dozen enemies and 5 boss type guys over and over through the course of the 40 hours you can sink into it. after over a dozen hours I can say the game is painfully overrated. It has a very slow start with a crazy amount of very slow walking and talking. Even once the open world opens up to you... all you do is basic tasks with incredibly long trips. Ride 10 min to punch a guy who owes money once than ride 10 min back to camp. Then do that 3 more times! Ride 10 min to pick somebody up to ride 10 min to drop them off then ride back to camp. Ride 10 min to a hunting spot than hunt 1 animal than ride 10 min back to camp. If you hated FF15 and it's car mechanic well it's the same here. Bad boring mission design in a shockingly empty open world. The experience is also hampered by terrible movement mechanics. You walk at a snails pace as if your in Gears of War 1 talking on the radio and you can hold the sprint button to speed up... but you go to full speed automatically and as soon as you let go you are a snail again. Some how there is no jog option so you end up running past things you want or crawling up to them slowly. Shooting feels awful made worse by a awkward implementation of a cover system and the poor movement controls. The game also never seems to remember what weapons I have equipped. It always takes my long arms off my body even though they are hanging on my back not just keeping them on my horse but removing them forcing me to reopen the horse inventory. Maybe the game will improve if the story picks up. But right now it's painfully boring with long drawn out conversations about nothing important with idiots who's names I can't remember. As for the supposed amazing graphics... the best way to describe the game is blurry very blurry. I have now beaten the game. It will not be a game I remember fondly. There is only 1 mission in the whole game that I will remember and that was when you rolled up to that house to find the kid. I was really feeling that mission... too bad once you get there the shooting it terrible. I have serious problems with how nearly every single mission is designed and how almost all the story is delivered throughout the game. Everything is tedious without an upside after you bother going through it all. Less than half way through the game and I had all the money I would ever need and fully modified guns, horse, and clothes that I would never need to change. After that almost every side quest in the game was a absolute waste of time with a tiny bit of mediocre story that wasn't worth the travel time. I started to avoid everything and do a straight line for the necessary story line missions because I was done with the game but wanted to know the story. I wouldn't say it was bad but as it started to end I was disappointed with so many actions of the main character that I was totally taken out of the experience. In the rest of the game you can do whatever you want and totally create what type of person you are with your interactions with people. But in the main game I'm thinking "**** you shot that person I liked you are dead". I shoot him mission failed. You also have to just shake your head at how stupid the major fight scenes are. You get 10 hours of 100 people shooting at you as you guys barely move or slowly ride away completely exposed and not a single ****ing person can hit anybody or your horses. It's too absurd for my taste... they needed to design fights better but the AI is so simple they have to throw waves and waves of enemies at you to even force you to move your character. Nothing in this world ever reflects anything that happens. You kill 5 times a towns population and then return the next day and everybody is there. You fight a rival gang that apparently has 1000 men and you have 20. Nothing makes sense.

There is no reason to complain with only a $39 price tag or $1 if you have a xbox and the game pass since it's currently discounted. I thoroughly enjoyed my 20 hours with the game but you can't experiment with builds or pvp so that's about all the time i'll put in for now. Combat is OK but the puzzles are garbage. If you think picking up a rock and placing it in a circle, throwing a rock into a circle, or pushing a rock into a circle is exciting then go ahead you'll be doing that 200 times. There are a few good side quests and a few good surprises but most of what you find is endlessly repeated simple Korok puzzles that you need to do because of how annoying the equipment breaking system is. You need the extra slots because how fast weapons become useless and break. If you enjoy Dungeons you need not apply because this has the worst dungeons in the entire Zelda franchise. They are no more than simple puzzle rooms with almost no enemy's.... the one enemy they the boss are also the worst in the franchise. Bosses almost with every other monster are either going to kill you in 1 hit or if you spent a little time powering up they will be so weak you may not even need to block. Bad menu's that you constantly use, bad voice acting, bad writing, bad story, bad lip-sync in some scenes, bad side quests.... Very little of this game is up to modern standards. If you think cooking should be quick and easy to prepare before battle well that's not this game. Maybe in the Witcher you can instantly fill up everything you know the recipe for but in Zelda you need to spend 30 min crafting each individual meal waiting through the 10 second jingle to finish after every one. This annoyance continues through the whole game... you'll need to sit through 5 loading screens to finish each shrine and most of the time they aren't even worth it. Shines are generally just very simple puzzles with no visual difference and they pale in comparison to open world puzzles used to unlock shrines. Even worse are the shrines that are 5 loading screens just to enter an empty room with a chest. Things Zelda was good at are now broken! Even things like the lock on system is garbage. Its still worth playing but its not the masterpiece reviewers keep saying it is.
