Excellent who-done-it! It’s got an all-star cast that bring grade-A performances, a great mystery that will keep you guessing until the end, and some inspired cinematography.
It’s a ridiculous fun movie. If you liked the originals, you will probably like this. It feels like it’s a constant barrage of jokes, and if one doesn't hit, don’t worry because another is coming in 10 seconds.
It’s got some funny moment; but far more stupid moment that are supposed to be funny. It’s so far away from reality that it’s completely lost the charm of the original.
It’s a solid remake. It sticks to the original story pretty well, which is good. Casting is pretty good and the visuals are mostly great. My one big gripe is the sound; there were a bunch of scenes where the sound was just strangely mixed. Particularly noticeable in near the end, when the action and excitement is picking up, but the music is very muffled.
It’s so bad. They took a cool character and made him so cringe you’ll want to look away from the screen. Whoever wrote this needs to reflect on their decisions.
It’s frustratingly bad, as it has some good action sequences and Aaron is an excellent Kraven, but the writing and direction are atrocious. I wanted to enjoy this movie so much, but I just couldn’t. There was a lot of audio issues; I’m fairly certain there was a lot of ADR as the lips often didn’t quite line up with the dialogue.
It’s an easy watch with some cute moments. It almost feels unfinished at times; like its premise could have been more fleshed out. Still, it’s worth a lazy afternoon viewing.
Tons of fun! As you would expect, there are tons of cool action sequences with badass stunts. There’s a fairly simple story, but it’s enough that the characters are likable.
It’s not the worst, but it’s not good. None of the characters are likable; in fact the main character is just annoying. None of the bad-guys are interesting. They have a million side-characters, most of whom are pointless and just pull us away from the story. Afterlife felt like a decent homage to the originals; but this feels like a cynical nostalgia cash-grab. It might actually be the worst.
The first half of the movie is fun and feels like it is going somewhere. Halfway through, it gets so ridiculous that I no longer cared where it was going. My wife liked it a lot; I found it very disappointing.
It’s trash. Just racist white-savior trash. Bullock somehow won an Oscar for this, but I honestly think She’s pretty underwhelming. This film is horribly inaccurate to the real-life events and should not be watched by anyone.
I’ve got a great idea! Let’s cast some amazing actors to play our franchise’s most iconic characters… and then completely ignore those characters to focus on Cole, the most boring soulless character we could come up with. What in the world was this studio thinking? Why would you ignore the source material? Why would you create a brand new character rather than focusing on those that the fans actually want to see? How do you even come up with a character as worthless and unlikeable as COLE? The writers, director, and producers should all be ashamed of themselves. The only points this movie gets are for the scenes where Hiroyuki Sanada gets to shine… and there’s far too few of those.
A slight improvement over the theatrical cut, but not enough to call it a good movie. A polished turd, is still a turd. The CGI is terrible. There is a better story, but it’s not worth the 4 hour slog.
Among the best animated films of all time. The first 10 minutes alone pack more emotion than most films can hope to contain in 2 hours. It’s sad, happy, funny, thoughtful, and altogether wonderful.
It’s a solid historical drama. From what I understand, a lot had to be cut out from the biography, but what remains is an inspirational story that is brought to life by a strong cast. I would’ve preferred more length to flesh out the backstories, but I enjoyed everything that was there.
Visually stunning. The story is familiar and simple, but that’s not the focus here. The focus is visuals and the glorious crescendos of action that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
