Free Fire may suggest Wheatley is deservedly moving up the industry food chain – it's executive-produced by Martin Scorsese – but it also merely a formal exercise, albeit one buoyed by the sense that the director is having the time of his life behind the camera.

Ben Wheatley's film reduces the modus operandi of the action movie down to its starkest elements.

Free Fire frequently becomes a messy blur of ricochets and one-liners. Fortunately, the cast is appealing enough -- and the characters interesting enough -- to use those one-liners to maximum effect, thus holding things together reasonably well.

Wheatley's riotous Looney Tunes action comedy is a sporadically amusing assault on the senses, but it looks like it was more fun to make than to watch.

The film is a criminal waste of an ensemble cast that should have found something better to do than lend their names to such a pointless exercise. Free Fire is a misfire.

Free Fire is not a bad chamber action movie. Everything is done at the middle level, starting from the cast, ending with camera work. And it seems that you will forget the film in a couple of days, so simple and trivial, but it is brought in the trailer as a magnificent Hollywood action movie from Scorsese. Well, it's ridiculous)

Free Fire tries to make its attempt to outshine what it wants to be. Unfortunately for that, the movie fails quickly before any attempt is made. Free Fire is probably an average feature within little or no amazing saving features about it.

Free Fire se siente más como un juego hecho para exprimir dinero que para ofrecer una buena experiencia. El gameplay es muy básico, repetitivo y poco profundo, con mecánicas simplificadas al extremo. Los gráficos y animaciones se quedan cortos, y el balance del juego favorece demasiado a quien paga. Más que habilidad, muchas veces gana quien tenga mejores skins o ventajas compradas.
