It shares a vague shape and a handful of specific, linchpin scenes with its predecessor, but everything about it lands differently: characters that were previously empty or ludicrous now have real grit and depth, while action sequences that were once incoherent, lightweight and garish now number among the most thunderously spectacular in the genre.

Like Superman when he’s first brought back to life, the new Justice League isn’t necessarily better than the original, but it’s different and darker, markedly so.

My god we were robbed! This is the greatest vision of superheroes we have ever had on the screen and even made Ezra Miller's craptastic take on The Flash something that I could enjoy. With a hugely extended run time . . . I am here for every minute of this thrill ride to - what is sure to be - the redemption of the DC Cinematic Universe!

It’s rough, messy, and overlong, but may well capture the well-intentioned spirit of what it’s trying to do better than the compromised version we got at release. It may even be something I revisit in the future — just maybe not all in one sitting.

Zack Snyder superhero movies are the black licorice of cinema: Those who like the taste can’t understand why everyone doesn’t, and those who don’t like the taste grimace at the thought. And now the streaming wars and online clamor have brought us Zack Snyder’s Justice League. It’s four hours of black licorice.

ZSJL is a fan cut as much as it is a director’s cut, with all the indulgence that the notion applies. As for any continuation of the story, as the fans hope, that seems gravely unlikely considering the direction Warner Bros is headed. But for a director who had to abandon his grand superhero project because of a family tragedy and because a big movie studio tried to wrestle control of the film, which was too much to bear at the time, one supposes, this postmortem collectible for die-hard, is about as good as an outcome as one could get.

What Snyder has contrived here feels less like a vital re-energization of the form than a ponderous guided tour through a museum’s worth of familiar superhero-movie tropes and conventions: Look at this, look at that, try not to look at your watch. Like the Flash himself, Snyder wants to slow time to a crawl, to deconstruct every gesture, to make his obsessions your own. He wants the movie to go on forever. Mission accomplished.

It is a grind, it is a slog, it is a bore—it’s a mental toothache of a movie, whose ending grants not so much resolution as relief.

My all time No.1 superhero movie. Zack Snyder's best gift to every persistent snydercut fan.

A slight improvement over the theatrical cut, but not enough to call it a good movie. A polished turd, is still a turd. The CGI is terrible. There is a better story, but it’s not worth the 4 hour slog.

not the masterpiece I was hoping it would be but still much better than the theatrical cut. I don't want to sound like a debbie downer but I wasn't that impressed with this movie at all it was good but not great. I don't think I'll ever watch this or the first one ever again, but that being said it was still pretty cool though. p.s. the nightmare / apocalypse alternative universe scene felt more like fanfare than an important part of the story.

At last, I watched this movie the way it was intended: in a strange aspect ratio and devoid of color. It looked like someone had sat on my TV remote and messed with the settings. The Steppenwolf design looked better than before, and The Flash scene at the end was cool! However, the movie still kinda just... ****.

More consistent than the theatrical version, but that is not enough to save it from bad writing, clunky dialog, dry acting and boring drawn out action scenes. Stop enabling Zack Snyder to keep making **** comic book films. Please.
