Art Academy9

I think this is a pretty good way to learn some art skills if your style of art you want to learn is mostly still life and painting with references. Although even if you are solely into, say, cartoon art or portrait art, I still feel like there is some stuff to be learned from here. I had a lot of fun doing the lessons, and feel like I learned some stuff. My only real problem was how it would sometimes make me break from the instructions just to do something small like mix my paints when I could do that after the instructions, but since it may be helpful to people who have memory problems, I'm all for possible accessibility.

Pokemon X10

I thought it was a lot of fun! The graphics are good, the Wonder Trade system is fun, the Pokemon-Amie system is a good way to really feel like you are building a connection with your Pokemon, and the story was fairly intriguing. My only main problem was that I often found following the maps and traveling very confusing, but that might have been my own problem rather than the games problem. Overall, really good!

Animal Crossing: Wild World8
Apr 4, 2016
I may be biased because I've played New Leaf first, but I definitely think that New Leaf is the superior game. That being said, Wild World isn't a bad game by any measurements, but it may be best for people who want to get into Animal Crossing but don't have a 3DS. It's still got a lot of cute and fun Animal Crossing charm to it, but being that it was on an older device than the newest AC game, the graphics and sound quality aren't as good, and I do find some things annoying like that characters that want to fish or catch bugs won't let me talk to them about anything else until I agree to do it and then go find them, especially in the winter when bugs are harder to find. But it's still a cute game.

Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer9
Apr 4, 2016
It's a fun creative outlet, and I love how you can interact with more characters than you would ever be allowed to have in a single village in a main series game, and there are a lot of features that make it good for taking Miiverse photos if you are into that sorta thing. Overall, it's a fun game, but it does lack a lot of the features that the main series of Animal Crossing games have, because it's not supposed to be a main AC game. If that's gonna bother you, this may not be recommended, but if you go in for interior design and cute animals, you shouldn't be disappointed.

Super Mario Maker10

A really fantastic game. Making levels is an amazing creative outlet, and even if you aren't feeling particularly creative, you still have hours and hours worth of other peoples levels you can play. It's also super fun that you can choose between several different styles of Mario, if you are into the older versions of Mario like I am.

Splatoon10

This game really reminds me of a conversation I had with a friend a few years ago. I basically said "wouldn't it be great if there was a first person shooter style game, but with an upbeat tone, and cute, colourful graphics?". And Splatoon absolutely quenches my thirst for a game like this and more. It's fast paced, got a few different ways to play, adorable, and gives you the sort of sense of community of any multiplayer game but without the option for your teammates to scream insults into your ear. It's a wonderful experience.

Mario Kart 88

I enjoy this game, but I honestly still prefer Mario Kart Wii. I feel like the choices for the character roster were honestly not nearly as good as they could have been, and many of the levels feel like a sensory overload, with so much happening all at once. It definitely wins bonus points with me what with the Animal Crossing DLC pack, being a big Animal Crossing fan myself. But still, if you've got a Wii U, I'd still say the game is definitely worth it.

Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival8

I guess that I'm in the minority here, but I actually really enjoy this game. Don't get me wrong, most of the claims I hear around the game are valid. The gameplay is too simple; it's too slow-paced, even for Animal Crossing; it takes no skill... and honestly? I agree. But I really can't bring myself to be as mad at this game as most people are. I have fun when I play it, it's a relaxing experience. The graphics are adorable. Do I wish that there was more from a game like this, especially one that requires you to have amiibos just to play it? Absolutely. But I'm sticking with my own opinions, and I think that if you already collect amiibos, this game is a lot of fun.

I absolutely adore this game. This game is most likely not for you if you don't enjoy games with a slow pace and not that many specific goals, but I felt that way too and I've ended up adoring this game. The first day or so that I played Animal Crossing, I was really not into it, I wasn't used to a game that had such a slow pace, but it's grown on me, and I find that there is more to do the more I play. It's honestly really good for someone like me, I don't have very many friends, but it's been very heartwarming to have animal friends in my game. I have heard that Animal Crossing was originally started as a way to cope with loneliness, and I think it does it's job well. There are also many silly and fun things to discover within the game, creative outlets, and building aspects, that make the game very relaxing and rewarding.

I absolutely adore this game. At first I was sorta worried it wouldn't live up to the hype, but I actually feel like it's even better than the hype made it out to be. It's such a diverse game with some of the most lovable cast of characters I've ever seen, super creative game mechanics, and a really interesting storyline. Despite what I've heard some people say, I personally think the art style is really good, and the parts that weren't that great still tend to grow on you in some way. It's also got really good replay value, which is important since you can't get the full story without chasing down different storylines. It's fun, it's unique, it's weird, it's a masterpiece.

A very fun game but it absolutely has it's problems. It's got tons of weird, strange features and experiences that will really take you off guard and make you laugh.... the first time you see them. It has a lot of these, so it takes time to have really seen them all, but after a while they really get sorta tiresome. I've also never really seen a game that's had such an annoying way of giving bonuses after leveling up that I've specifically went out of my way to not level up as much as I can. At first it seems like a good idea- you get to pick a bonus item to have when you level up! However, as soon as you run out of the bonus interiors and music and you've given your character 8 items, you can choose between clothes, hats, and replacing one of your 8 items with a different item. Which either means I have to give up one of my already chosen items, or I have to accept a piece of clothing and then go back to the clothing menu to get back the outfit I was already wearing, which once you've collected enough clothes, can be a fairly annoying task. However, a lot of the clothes are fairly cute, so it can be nice to get a large collection, even if it makes changing outfits a much bigger task. It also has a very similar sense of time as Animal Crossing, in the sense that it uses your clock to figure out when real day and night are, and the Miis will act accordingly, making the game quite boring to play at night unless you've made so many Miis that you've managed to make a few of them night owls. There are also some issues such as that they purposely made it so that gay relationships aren't allowed (although you could do what I did and just list some of your female character as male and some of your male characters as female), or how random cultural items are thrown in there in a way that doesn't have much context and feels a lot like cultural appropriation. Overall, I would be lying if I said the game wasn't fun, but it has big enough problems to take note of, and after a while, gets kinda stale and repetitive.
