I would give this game more of a 7.5 score but since we can't do that I rounded up the score. Before I go through all the positives and negatives of the game, for anyone who reads this review, please realize this is a very difficult arcade racing style of game. If you aren't willing to really learn the controls do not get this game. With that being said, for the positives. The music is very well done and compliments the identities of the characters. Wasn't expecting there to be such good and unique music in a racing game. Racing games don't really focus on the music that much anymore. The art style is also very good and the characters are cool. The settings for the racing tracks are pretty typical of a racing game believe it or not, haha even crash bandicoot and mario went to space in their respective go kart racing games, so this game is also like well we will go to space too! The cars fit each character's identity. The voice acting is really good and this game is unique in the sense that each character will speak their own language yet the other characters understand due to a language translator. Not many games mix so many different languages so I thought that was a novel idea. The story mode teaches you the different abilities throughout the chapters, and it was intriguing enough for me to like the story; however, I will also mention the story in the negative parts. The cutscenes are also really well done and again very impressive for a racing game. And of course, I liked the driving and the abilities and had a fun time. Now for the negatives in no particular order. Why is that for a game for so many unique characters, why don't the characters have like a short biography in the arcade menu select scene? I wanted to know what language each character speaks, and a short biography would of made perfect sense for this game! For a game that has fast pace action, why do some of the racing tracks have way too many curves and having to brake so much. It really defeats the purpose of the game that really relies on going fast and using your abilities to boost. Those tracks were not fun to race on at all. Also, the difficulty really kicks in on these types of tracks because the AI can be very challenging even on the medium difficultly. I would consider myself better than the average gamer when it comes to racing games, not saying I'm great. But a common complaint I read about this game is that the AI can be difficult, and I would agree with this. There were some chapters in the story mode that I had to drop the difficulty to easy, and there were still a few chapters in the story that took a few tries even on easy difficulty! As for the story, I liked it overall, but I DID NOT like that the story ends on several cliffhangers. That is very stupid for a video game to do this. Even if you get approval to make another game, well it's going to take several years for the game to be made. It just makes no sense whatsoever for a video game like this to do this. Overall, this game was worth playing, but I did buy this game on sale. Also, from what I read the multiplayer isn't really popular now, which isn't surprising for a niche genre. Fun game overall.

For starters, Star Fox 64 is one of my favorite games, so when I heard they were doing a remake of this game I was so excited. This is a faithful remake while expanding the story of the original game. The expanded stories and cutscenes makes are very well done and give actual character development, the original game the characters just felt like they just fell into character tropes. For example, Falco is cranky, but the remake gives more than just Falco is cranky. He feels like he's the best and doesn't respect Slippy Fox or Peppy, but as you proceed he eases up in his bashful personality. This is just one of the many examples. As for the graphics you can argue that this is the best game so far on the console. There's only two complaints that I have and it's not even really complaints it's more like mixed reactions. The first thing is that some of the dialogue for the enemies and bosses is toned down and is reflected in the tone and style of the voice acting. Although it isn't bad, I think the Star Fox 64 had more memorable voice acting. Only other complaint is that sometimes when you are battling the boss fights I remember the Star Fox 64 game having better sound cues when you did damage, this remake it really seems more muted and sometimes harder to tell if you are doing damage. Still an amazing game and I think this game should of had a higher critic score. I'm so happy that this game was remade. I hope it does well so we can get a new adventure for Star Fox.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

Right from the start this game is really good. I read the reviews that others have posted, and I honestly agree with most of what is said about the game. The overall score and enjoyment of the game really comes down to if you like the echo system that is introduced, which is basically Zelda with the help of Tri, can make copies of enemies and objects that she encounters and in turn use them in the battles and puzzles. I personally think that it was done well for the most part. The main complaint I would say is mainly on how many different echoes you will get with some of the echoes not even being really useful at all, or just variations of the same enemy or object. So by the end of the game you will have A LOT of different things to summon. Even though you get a favorite list, you will still have to use an echo to solve a puzzle that might not really be needed for anywhere else. The only other complaint that I have about this game is that it does get somewhat repetitive and what I mean is that you go to a new area, you talk to some characters, you fix the rift, then you proceed to go fix a big rift in the area. Overall, this is a solid game that does a good job of trying something new. I would like another game of this style in the future.

I enjoyed this game less than the previous game. I played Disciples Liberation before playing this game so I could compare the two games and see what game was better. I noticed that the first game had a much different tone, I think that was partially due to Orion would give a lot more commentary and make jokes and so would Avyanna. In the second game Orion isn't really in the game nor most of the companions from the first game, and Avyanna isn't as funny or confident. What's odd about the story is that when you finish the first game Avyanna is a strong and confident person, but then the second game is several years later and for some reason Avyanna becomes recluse for the most part and just stays isolated. It doesn't really make sense why she does this and why she just doesn't talk to her companions at all or participate in helping reform the lands of Nevendarr. And honestly they retcon some of the endings of the first game. I don't think this was good writing and thus a poor attempt to connect the two video games. I will say also the voice acting isn't as good compared to the first game. I didn't like how they changed the voice actor of Avyanna and she sounded way different from the first game. Same for Ilmeren she sounded way more annoying in this game compared to first game. I did like the voice acting for the new companions though. I will say that I do like that they made the combat of this game have some more strategy and you actually have to think more. The first game really just turned into for the first third of the game you have to flank, then about halfway, if not slightly later in the story, Avyanna becomes very powerful and thus no strategy needed. Also the battles were a lot shorter throughout the first game except for the boss fights which took way too long in the first game. In this game they really made the combat better with there being random events in the battles which may change how you position the characters or who to focus on. Also, to better explain this I finish the game about level 40, so for the first 20-24 levels Avyanna isn't really that strong at all. So you had to really depend on your units. Now I will say that's easily 60% of the game. For me, the strategy really was good until about the last 25% of the game that's where Avyanna is too strong and the final boss is just too easy. They honestly made the final boss more of a minigame because it just wasn't much difficulty. So I guess I would say for both games they have had trouble balancing the games, but at least the second game they did a better job. This game just feels like dlc for the first game, and thus the game is shorter. Companions feel a lot weaker in this game and honestly I just stuck with the first two companions for the whole game. And you only get five companions and two of them which are the new characters are there from the start of the game. Other things to note are that there are less units in the game for each faction, but I think they did a good job with coming up with some newer units which were the ones I used for the most part. Although some improvements were made from the first game, I don't think this game is better than the previous game due to mainly the overall story just isn't as good and some of the voice acting is not good. The improvements in combat isn't enough to give this game the same score as I did in the previous game. One last thing I will say is that I didn't really have any bugs or glitches so that's really good. First game was a 8/10, this game is more like a 7/10.

I haven't finished the videogame yet, but this game clearly needed a few more months to just fix the various bugs and glitches that have occurred. I have had the game crash a few times, notable frame rate drops for unclear reasons, but worst of all when combat finishes and if your main character has fallen, sometimes the game will get stuck and you can't do anything, you can't even pause the game or use the menu screen. You have to close the game entirely and restart the game from the most recent save. I've had that bug occur several times now and it's an annoying enough of a bug where I can understand why this game is getting not great reviews. Also other bugs such as objects not loading in the game like for example a chair a guy is sitting on didn't load so it looks like the guy is sitting on nothing. I will write more to the review once I complete the game! After finishing the game: I ran into a few more bugs where towards the very end the game will not load and that happened like two or three times and then the game will crash. Look I understand that bugs and glitches can happen, but this game is one of the most buggiest games I've played in awhile. So overall, frame rate drops, game crashes multiple times, objects not loading, characters and objects appearing and disappearing when walking by them, several glitches in combat and end of battles to the point you have to close the game and restart, characters getting stuck when walking/running, and possibly other bugs and glitches that I might be forgetting about. Other flaws in the game mainly are due to the combat just being too complicated for the the system itself and thus it just doesn't really work as well compared to other games that do real time with pause. Then what it makes it even more annoying is that I had to CONSTANTLY adjust the difficulty settings as some battles are too easy, and then some battles are fair, and then some battles are just completely unbalanced and ridiculously difficult. This game was not balanced properly. The battles are just not well designed, and become boring as you generally fight the same mobs over and over again. What made the first game fun was that they put unique battles every few hours of the game so it felt fresh even though the combat in the first game was basic. But for this second game you don't get those cool battles until really towards the very end of the game. There are a lot of negatives to this game, and it's a shame because the storytelling is still well done and the voice acting is really good, but even the story is somewhat hampered by the main villain not really being shown that much until the end of the game, characters talk about the villain a lot but easy to forget about the villain since we don't hear or see him at all really. Other positives about the game; the main song is amazing and one of my favorite video game songs in awhile. Most of the companions are interesting. Character customization is decent for a game of this type of budget. It was fun to explore the different places as they were more unique than the first game. And it's fun to resolve situations more than just by battle, you can sneak, use disguises, sometimes bribe or pay, lie or convince or reason, or sometimes have your companions do the talking for you which is honestly unique where most games don't really do this. Overall, I would only recommend this game if you are a fan of the series. There is a fun enough **** here, but even for me who really likes both greedfall games, this game does have a lot of flaws.

The game does feel like a step back from octopath traveler 2 due to worse graphics, worse storytelling, and just overall a less "finished" product. This is primarily due to this game being based off of a mobile game, and although a good enough job was done to make the game not feel like a mobile game/ gacha, free to play game, you still experience remnants of it being a mobile game and thus brings down the overall quality of the game. For starters, having so many playable characters definitely feels like a mobile game/gacha as some of the characters are just not very useful, and with limited dialogue and story impact it just doesn't make me want to change up the characters to use for battles as the game isn't as difficult compared to the mobile game. Also, the storylines/quests feel like it was more intended for a mobile game that gets story updates every so often. The game just feels too long and has too much dialogue. I feel like this could of been reworked further and cut out some of the pointless dialogue. For example, I have 60+ hours in the game already, and I'm only about 75% done with game. For me the game peaked when playing the master of all storyline, as I was also complete the wishvale storyline at the same time. And that's only about halfway being done with the game.

This is a solid game, but still a rather weak game for the Mario series. For starters, this is a puzzle game with some very light action and battles. So if you don't like puzzles this is not the game for you. As for the puzzles, it's relatively easy throughout the game as there were only very few that I got stuck or had to think awhile to solve it, and one of them was more so due to game mechanics. I've played a few puzzle games and I can say it's not my favorite genre of video games, but there's still some fun to be had with puzzle games if done correctly. This game does accomplish taking an idea and expanding on it so it doesn't feel completely stale and boring after solving a few puzzles. So that makes it a good game. However, the game really isn't that long as there's slightly more than 130 puzzles and most puzzles only take a few minutes if that, so this game is only a few hours long, even if you try to get perfect on each level. The expert levels which are a new addition to game did give a challenge and I didn't finish all of those but at that point I kind of was done with the game having gotten perfect on all the puzzles before the expert levels. Other things to note in this game, as others may have mentioned, I did run into a few game flaws or bugs, where Mario will land on top of an enemy but still takes damage and thus you have to start over. Other Improvements could of been where you can maybe had it where Mario could issue a wait command for the mario toy, as that could of made it prevent the mario toy getting destroyed by an enemy or falling. Also, it could of been cool if you could of created your own level, kind of like mario maker. Overall, still a solid game, but could of been better, and I don't think the price helped the reception of this game. I wonder if they will remake the 2nd game for this series, but I doubt it since this game didn't review that well.

I think this game is getting a few too many negative scores, especially when this game basically improved on the first game. This game honestly reminded me a lot of the original Ratchet and Clank trilogy for some reason. I think it's because of the humor, the unique tools/weapons, and whimsical characters. I think that's why I enjoyed the game for the most part. For the positives, the flaw system feels more improved and purposeful. The flaws feel unique and do match what you are doing within the game. I ended up using a lot of the flaws that popped up as it made the game feel fresh and fit what my character was doing in the game. I honestly find that a unique quality of this game. The environments are much better in this game compared to the first one. The game length is much longer as I put over 40 hours into the game, whereas the first game was very short and anticlimactic for the most part. The game can be more challenging, but still becomes somewhat easy once you progress about half to two-thirds completion. By the end of the game there isn't really much of a challenge so that was a letdown. I did like the main story better than the first game. I will say the companions are not as good as the first game and it is actually easy to miss some of the companions. And also not sure why but I felt like the companions were just generally weak and not very useful in battle. Overall, I think this is a solid game that accomplishes what it is trying to do, but still has some flaws, and no I"m not referring to the flaw/perk system, I'm not sure that DLC will really fix anything or be that important compared to the first game which needed the DLC to help with the game length.

If this game only had a bigger budget, it could of been something amazing. But due to limitations, you end up with a game that has a clear vision on what it wanted to do, but just couldn't put all the pieces together to make a solid game. I'll start with the negatives first. One of the biggest negatives is that you cannot adjust the difficulty in battle, you can only do this while at camp. This can potentially softlock your game if you don't have a save that's in your camp that's right before your battle, thus making it where you have to replay to an earlier save or keep trying different strategies that hopefully work. I've played games where you can adjust the difficulty during the battle, so not sure why they didn't implement that in this game. The difficulty ties into my next point, as the game has levels that just feel too difficult even on normal difficulty. Like to adjust this it would of made more sense if you could have like additional units to use instead of the static amount of units per battle. I think that would help more than making easy mode too easy and normal difficultly still too difficult at times. The overall battles and mechanics gets really boring as the game quickly introduces all of the battle mechanics within the first few chapters, so it gets stale after awhile as most of the game you can only be a melee character, ranged character, or spell character either focused on healing or damage, but you only get very few spells that you can use during each battle. What is worse is that the lands used for each battle feels the same for the most part as you're either battling in a field or by castle walls. And the enemies are repetitive throughout the whole game. There's a few chapters that introduce some really cool and unique enemies but that's not very often, which is a shame. As for the characters, a lot of them are very boring or just very limited personality wise as I think this is due to that if you play on hardcore mode you can lose units so the additional characters you can get are just replacement characters that just have very minimal backstory and voice acting. This doesn't help that the story is too long and honestly could of been a lot shorter. I quit the game towards the end as it got too difficult to the point where it's not enjoyable and the story isn't good enough to power through to get to the ending. The game gets too repetitive that almost each chapter you have a story, then a battle, then camp and do some basic side quests. Some of these quests are very lame for example you talk to a few different people and that's the quest, nothing more, nothing less. As for the positives, I do like the voice acting as it's well done for a game with a limited budget. I prefer games to have some sort of voice acting and I think this game did that well. I like the feature of being able to quickly travel to characters during the camp areas to either speak with them or complete quests. I didn't run into many bugs/glitches, only notable thing was the game did crash once. And I did like that the game has a nice balance of quests that focus on battle, and story. The game has better pacing than some other games I've played recently such as triangle strategy. Overall, this could of been a great game, but due to all the flaws it's a game that can be worth playing but I would recommend to only buy this game on a sale.

I would give this more of a 8.5/10, but since we can't do that I decided to round up to a 9/10 for this game. There aren't a lot of negatives in this game, but for this being a turn base game with elements of dodging/parrying, I do think some of the attacks that the enemies have are really difficult to dodge to the point that it is unfair. What I mean by that is sometimes it's too difficult to read the attack as either another enemy is blocking them so you can't see what's going on or there's too much going on in the background so you're not sure what to focus on. Some enemies have a lot of attacks so it's hard to guess what's coming up, or the attacks just take too long to happen or go too fast. This is really annoying for a game that requires precision. Some of the characters that are in your group I just didn't really care for personality wise so I ended up not really using them at all. I didn't like that you couldn't fast travel in the game until really towards the end of the game and so not sure why that was necessary for a game like this. The face animations for the characters didn't fit really the tremendous voice acting. Sometimes the game feels too linear in exploring with not much to collect if you go off the main path or explore the corners of the area. And with there being not much to buy it makes this feel somewhat limited and not very fun to explore the map. I know that sounds like a lot of negatives but it really isn't I just wanted to show why this game should not be getting a perfect score. As for the positives, there's a lot. The music is very unique and original. A lot of the songs are very well done. As stated before, the voice acting is some of the best I've heard in a video game. I like having a variety of skills you can choose from, and being able to customize more with abilities that you can choose from is well done. I thought the game had a lot of enemy variety and only really gets repetitive towards the very end. I like the art design as well. The combat in the game adds new layers as you progress so it doesn't get stale until again towards the very end. The story is pretty good for the most part except some plot points that aren't really explained or just I didn't think was emotional as much as the game was trying to make it be. I like that there are a lot of save points so you don't lose really any progress. And ultimately it's a game that made me think about it so that's a positive. Ultimately, a great game produced with a minimal budget, which is impressive for today.

The further I get into the game, the worse it just seems to get. The game is passable for me, but as someone who has played Tactics Ogre but didn't finish that game, Tactics Ogre has a much better story, characters, music, voice acting. For Triangle Strategy, from the start the game starts off really slow. I get needing to introduce characters and the setting, but this is ridiculous on how few battles you get in the first few chapters. Which would be okay if the characters were amazing or the story was good or at least good voice acting and music? Nope. This game doesn't have that. Most of the main characters are just boring for the most part that stick to a character trope. This is especially true for the side characters as they get little to no story or voice acting, and the ones you just randomly recruit get even less story. So basically most of the characters that join your group have nothing to do with the plot or have any say. Also, how some of these characters just join your group are very disappointing. It doesn't flow with the story at all. Easily they could of done more of hey I win a battle against them let me try to convince them to join, or hey you rescue them in a battle and they join you as a result. And the voice acting is just boring. Hardly any of the voice acting stands out. I don't know if it's just the voices just don't fit the characters or if it's the writing. The music... it is very disappointing. I can remember some songs from Tactics Ogre and I played that a year ago. I'm currently playing Triangle Strategy and I can't remember any songs from it. The reason I critique this so much as we know the publisher has put out games with great music like Tactics Ogre and Octopath Traveler. The pacing of the game can be bad too because there's a lot of repetitive dialogue or just pointless dialogue. I end up skipping a lot of it because the voice acting isn't good enough. Then for the battles, this is also annoying at times because some of the battles your characters are not at the required levels which means you have to repeat the same battle to gain experience. Gaining experience in the game honestly is not that fun and with lack of battles it doesn't feel rewarding. Fighting a lot of the same type of units can make it boring. Some of the characters you get seem to be too situational and not strong enough, which is disappointing. Overall, I'm not sure if I'm going to finish the game because it just seems way to predictable and the game just seems to be way too long. The game has decent ideas but just can't seem to put it together. A shame too because I think this game had the potential to be a much stronger game. But due to the flaws I just can't really say this game is something I want to do another playthrough, and also not sure if I even want to finish the game.

This is a solid game, and has elements of previous games like Abzu and The Pathless, yet also reminds of Solar Ash. The main thing you have to realize that these games are generally going to be short, as this game is only about three hours to complete a playthrough. That could be a major disappointment for someone if no prior knowledge on how long these games usually are. That can be a dealbreaker for some, hence I recommend waiting for a sale if you think $30 is too much. I generally like these games and I was excited when this was released so I paid full price. I do recommend playing the game so either play with using PS PLUS or wait for sale if you don't want to pay full price. The game shines with environmental storytelling, music, art design, and a surprise benefic of the haptics of the controller. This game seriously does a good job of using the features of the controller that most games just haven't done a lot (I thought more games would try to use features of the ps5 controller). I think this game is much better than Abzu. The Pathless offers more of a challenge but did have some annoying combat/puzzles/movement. This game kind of blends Abzu with it's environments and The Pathless with it's movement/combat. I also think this game is much more smooth and I wish Solar Ash had these more precise controls that Sword of the Sea has. Overall, I enjoyed my experience with this game.

This is actually a hard game to give a score if you never played the original game, which would be me as I never played any of the games in this series. Being on gamepass finally gave me a reason to try this game out because the original game the graphics are just way too dated in my opinion. So I will say this game after playing it for over 20+hours is that it's a really consistent game meaning that it doesn't really change its tone or quests from when you really start in the beginning to several hours later. Why I say this is that if you don't like the game within the first few hours its not going to get better for you. I do like the overall story so far, although some of the quests are a bit confusing on how to start them or what to do so you might have to look up some guides or explanations. Also, some of the game mechanics are somewhat unique but also dated. For example, leveling up in the game is more complex then games today as today you just gain experience for most things you do and then once you get enough experience you level up, but this game it's more so you have certain traits and abilities and the more you use the skills that's what leads to gaining experience. Somewhat confusing but I do like the concept. Lockpicking I still don't get it and probably one of the worst parts of the game. Persuasion of NPCs to gain favor is an interesting concept but kind of odd and really once you gain enough gold you can just bribe them to gain favor. There's just a lot of game mechanics like this that aren't really explained all that well so you kind of have to figure it out yourself. There is one thing about this game I did find annoying and it was about vampirism and I really wish I knew about this before I started the game because there's a lot of quests you have to do regarding it. Not going to go into much detail about it due to spoilers, but I don't think this was something that was needed in the game and honestly was annoying to me. Overall, I do enjoy the game, the upgraded graphics are well done, I like the music, the setting. The game does a great job of making you feel like you get to explore this whole land and having your character gain experience over time. It also has some really unique quests that became some of the most memorable quests that I've ever played in any video game. One last thing to note is that I recommend playing in performance mode, as quality mode it was way too choppy.

This game was clearly rushed by the publisher as it was clear they didn't want more time spent on this and no plans for any DLC that is really needed to make this game better. There's so many flaws in this game I'll go over the few positives this game does offer. I also want to say that anybody giving this game almost a perfect score or perfect score is really misleading anybody who might consider this game. It's not, stop pretending that it is. The critics also gave this game way too high of an average score. Positives: The character customization is really good. Being able to create your main character, arisen, and your main pawn, was really fun as there's a lot of details you can pick from. I do wish more games use a similar customization going forward. It is fun to pick from different pawns on your journey as it keeps the combat fresh for the first few hours. Note: if you join this game really late like I did, I'm not really sure it's worth using other pawns that players created because not many people really play this game anymore so your pawn isn't really going to be used by other players at this point. It probably was a fun feature when the game was released. The other positive is the combat in the sense that the battles can be intense and there's a lot of skills you can use. Negatives: There's a lot of flaws... Let's start with.... the story is just pathetic. For some games a story isn't really needed. But for this type of game, I play it for the story too! It's basically like they had an idea of a beginning, middle, and end, but just stopped there. The cutscenes make no sense whatsoever as they are just randomly put in the game and then do not match up with the in-game gameplay at all as NPCs won't really refer too much to said cutscenes or they don't impact the game outside of what happened in the cutscenes. The cutscenes are poorly edited, for example I'm talking to I think his name is Brant, and he's not even finishing what he's saying and it jumps right into a cutscene. The cutscenes just seem like it is there to basically say there is a crappy story here, this is all we could do in the limited time we had. Basically, the gameplay does not match what the cutscenes imply or state. This is further made worse by the quests. The side quests are just completely worthless. I can't even state what most of the quests are about in this game because there's just horrible writing. The characters are just very bland and the locations you go to are equally as bland. There's just not much to do in the game. For example, I had a quest where I had to go talk to someone but the characters didn't know where she exactly went to. However, a pawn I was traveling with said he knew where to go. I follow the pawn and we go across a large portion of the map and we still didn't actually go where we needed to. I had to look it up to actually complete the quest. This is just one of the many examples on how poor the quests are. Even more negatives? The overall land is just boring to traverse after awhile. There's not much to interact with, and with few quests you get it's just annoying as you will battle the same few enemies over and over again. Get ready to fight against harpies, wolves, goblins, and bandits!!! Oh larger monsters you say, oh get ready to stumble across ogres, minotaur, cyclops, trolls for a lot of the times for these bigger battles. The game has an annoying feature for traveling as it's not fun to really walk around and explore,,,so you either have to pay for an oxcart or use a ferrystone. Just not sure why we can't fast travel for free... It doesn't offer anything other than to annoy the player even more. I haven't even talked about the overall graphics. This game seriously looks like from something that would of been for the PS4. A good example is when it rains it just looks so bad. NPCs just pop in out of nowhere because the game couldn't handle this as that was a major complaint about FPS in bigger areas. Characters make ugly faces when gifted items. Lack of detail in certain items and locations. And finally, when you get to the second main area it is just more of the same... just with more battles! I could go on and on about the flaws of this game. Once you play for about 20+hours like I did you've pretty much experienced what the game has to offer, and yet there's half of the map I still have to go to... With a lack of good story and repetitive combat, I'm not sure if I'm going to even finish this game. What a disappointment this game was. I'm glad I waited for a sale for this game because this isn't worth full price. I paid $40 for this, and even I feel that might be too much. If it goes on sale for like $30 then maybe consider the game. It's really a shame because if this game had more focus and development time and better writing, this could of been a really fun game. But you can't ignore the flaws. And it took a game like this to write my longest review.

I was excited to find out that a second game was going to made for this series. I haven't played anything really like this and I thought the first game was quite good. I'm giving this game a similar score. I wanted to give this game a 9/10 but even with the improvements compared to the first game it does unfortunately have a few flaws and changes that hinder this game from being great. For starters, although they made more changes to the dice mechanics to make it more interactive I didn't care for the glitch and dice breaking mechanics. It was annoying having to constantly dear with glitched dice or dice that break as finding scrap to repair the dice was more difficult than it needed to be. I'm not sure why they made it this difficult to find scrap to repair the dice. There should of been an option where you can pay to restore "health", so in turn you can fix the dice or remove the glitches. What also didn't help was that if you do somewhat poorly at the first two quests it does make the game harder and believe me you're going to make mistakes in the beginning of the game and also it felt like it took awhile to make up for the somewhat bad start that I had in the game. Another small complaint was that even though you work with several different characters their stories just don't get a ton of character development. I do like how the companions can help with dice rolls and completing contracts. I do think some of the companions feel like they contribute more to the story than others. i also didn't like the two hours of the game where you have to defeat laine, because at that point my dice kept breaking and kept running out of resources so I kept failing a lot of the situations. I also do think that since there's a lot more going on with the story a few animated cutscenes or just something illustrated would of helped explain some of the stories and ending. As for the positives, as similar to the first game the art and music are great. The writing is still a solid story. The game does offer more of a challenge and you do have to make some decisions that can impact how the stories progress. I think with there being characters that join your adventure, it would of been nice for some voice acting. For me I thought it was refreshing being able to travel to different locations. Each location generally gave enough to do. I didn't run into any bugs that impacted the gameplay. It's a shame that most likely this is the last game of the series. I was hoping for one more game in this setting. I do think this game was worth it on gamepass. I would of bought this game though if it wasn't on gamepass.

This is a solid game, but I can understand why this game isn't getting great reviews. For starters, the game does lack enemy variety, maybe we wouldn't feel that way if we didn't have to fight xaurips for what felt like the 100th time (or other repetitive enemy types like bugs as an example). I get that the pillars of eternity series doesn't have a ton of enemy variety, but I don't remember saying to myself there's not enough enemy variety when I played the other two games. I think this game just doesn't do enough and didn't have enough unique battles. The second main issue is that the NPCs and companions are for the most part bland and just fall into character tropes or archetypes and just aren't that great memorable characters. The only companion that I liked is Kai, as he's a dynamic character and he was with me during the whole journey. The rest of the companions just aren't dynamic enough and can get really annoying. As for the NPCs, most are just very flat characters where the writing and voice acting really makes me just skip dialogue. Honestly I'm quite disappointed by this. What makes it worse is due to the dialogue choices that you can make, a lot of the times I felt there wasn't a dialogue choice that I wanted to pick from the available options and so it didn't feel like I had much say in conversations. Like for example when talking to your companions a lot of the times you can't really disagree with them or tell them they are wrong, but they'll quickly tell you they disagree with you. This doesn't make it a mediocre game, but at times it does feel like you're playing a video game that doesn't really do a whole lot for it's genre. Another problem I would say is that towards the end of the game I really wanted to just run through the remaining main quests as the game just doesn't do enough differently in each of the acts. So by act four I was pretty much about done with the game. Now I think those are the main complaints, but there are positives to this game. For starters, I do like the graphics/environmental art direction in this game. They did a really good job on environmental storytelling and it was cool to just explore each area to see how different. I'm really impressed for a game that did not have a huge budget and I think it shines more than some of the games with higher budgets. Another thing that I think this game did much better than its previous games of pillars of eternity are the weapon and build variety. I remember in my previous reviews for the games was that there wasn't enough unique weapons and items. It was fun looking for treasure chests as you can get some amazing items and resources and you felt rewarded for exploring the areas. I also liked that you can run different builds so I primarily was melee, but I did have a spellbook for aoe spells for most of the game (once you get to the final parts of the game you don't generally need to have multiple fighting types as you will be overpowered at the end). I think melee is the most challenging but also the most fun. I got about 40 hours out of the game with doing most quests. So this isn't a short game. Also, I will say I appreciate that this game doesn't have a lot of filler quests or dumb minigames that bloat the gamelength. I think that's a problem with some of today's games where there's too much of filler quests or minigames and really makes you wonder why do all of that it's only making the cost of creating the game to be way more expensive. Overall, I'd probably give this below an eight, more like a 7.5/10, but I rounded up the score. It's a game worth playing if you like the pillars of eternity series, but do not go in expecting like a top tier game.

Usually I don't try to review games with only having a few hours of gametime unless I disliked the game, but this game is just missing something. You're just thrown into the story with not much background or explanation as to what is going on, and with little effort you magically get into a place that hasn't been visited in decades. For the art styles, odd choice to have a full video animation for some cutscenes (reminds me of mirror's edge but less jarring), then some in-game cutscenes, and then also a 2D static portrait cutscene conversations. Just feels like trying to do too much with a limited budget. For the overall design, it's actually quite nice with the landscapes and vivid colors. I think it's really impressive on how the game looks. The voice acting is well done, but the writing really drags down the voice acting where it ruins the work done where you'll end up just skipping most of the dialogue. I prefer voice acting in my video games, but the writing is over explanatory and lack of meaningful dialogue choices really lead the same result so not sure why they offer choices where it doesn't matter and has little to no impact on the story. Again, just trying to do too much with a limited budget. As for the characters, just not much to talk about they all seem generic for the most part. Now for the combat, you get spells you can use, as well as melee and bows. It is kind of cool to use these in unison, but it's somewhat hampered by clunky design/controls. It should be much more smoother to switch to what you want to do. I wasn't impressed by this as other games do it better. What makes it worse is the stamina requirement for actions, I know they copied this from Zelda, but this stamina is way worse in the game as your stamina gets drained from basic actions like attacking, jumps, and shield. This slows down the game a lot and just feels like the game is working against you. Truth is I don't think this game needed a stamina meter. Another nonsensical limitation is limited inventory slots so this forces you to pick and choose what to collect and having to make several trips back and forth to your main resting place. If you run out of health you lose most of your items you collected. Again I don't think this game really needed this because it's an inconvenience and purposely tries to inflate overall run time for this game. If they wanted to do this a better option would of been you can only collect like a 100 items per each adventure and then you can go back to resting place to upgrade items as needed. As for the enemy encounters, they seem very repetitive, it's usually some sort of wolf, lizard, or construct. I don't get the feeling that the variety changes all that much in this game. Overall, it's amazing I typed up this much for only playing the game for a few hours, but I think this needed to be stated. I can see myself playing this game more, but I'm not rushing to do so. I'm honestly disappointed because I was intrigued by this game and was ecstatic that it is on gamepass, but this game just doesn't do anything amazing. It's really just missing something that makes the game unique, and the game mechanics just hinder the fun. Only reason I'm not giving this a lower score is that I do realize this isn't a high budget game and it does manage to offer an okay experience with little to no bugs. An unfortunate reality is that this game just won't be talked about that much and thus hard to recommend to play this game unless you don't have a lot of other games to play. Recommend trying it if you have gamepass, if not then wait for this to go on sale.

Anyone giving this game a negative review not entirely sure why you're even complaining or bothered to write a review. With that being said this is probably one of my favorite games that I've played this year, especially in a year that in my opinion has been a bit weak in terms of overall variety. I never got to finish this game when it first was released on the gamecube. So I'm glad that this game got remastered for the switch console. Story: Relatively solid story with a few unexpected twists and turns, and a great cast of sidekicks and villains. The humor helps the story too. Music: Good music, and you can use the old music if you want too, but for me the remaster does a great job of updating and making it sound much better. Design: The game is shiny and colorful, I didn't have complaints with the 30fps as it's not really noticeable in a game like this. Only complaint is really the amount of backtracking that you have to do as some of the levels were designed around the idea of backtracking. Ruins the pace of the game at times and thus makes some of the chapters a bit weaker. I think that is a fair complaint of the game, but potentially a product of game design back then. Combat: good variety of enemies, and you have enough movesets/abilities where combat doesn't get stale. It is funny though how this game has such low damage numbers and overall stats, video games today generally don't do this. Overall, a great game. I do hope we get another paper mario game soon.

I think that the overall scores for this game seems to be accurate. There are some flaws with this game, although I'm willing to overlook since the studio that made this game was closed the day it was released, so don't expect many patches to fix the game. I didn't run into too many bugs/glitches, but I did have a few occur in various boss fights, ranging from where the boss character wasn't really moving around the arena smoothly, to even where once where I could do no damage but neither could the boss. There were some performance issues during cutscenes as well with stuttering or frame rate drops as well as pop ins from the environment. I think where the game shines is the overall design and vivid colors of the environment as well as being able to use different elementals to help in the various fights. It makes the combat a lot better because using the wrong elementals in a boss fight will make it very hard to win. The elementals makes the combat have a lot more depth than i was expecting from a game like this. I also like the enemy variety in this game with a lot of familiar enemies from previous games in the series. I do recommend playing the game on hard difficulty, with a caveat to this. It makes the boss fights take a lot longer and you'll have to use more of your items, but there are a few fights where they are just not balanced that well on hard difficulty so just drop the difficulty to normal for those fights. As for the overall hours played, I think it took around 40+ hours. The story shines at some parts and some parts it just feels like pointless cutscene or why we have to do this. Side quests do not help the story at all, to the point where I don't even know why they put side quests in this game. None of the side quests were interesting. That's probably the biggest flaw of the game. Why add the side quests to begin with as you don't really get any good rewards for completing them. I had a lot of fun with this game though, I do think it was worth it for full price as I liked Secret of Mana on the SNES and it was cool playing a game in this series that has today's graphics and performance , but for some it may make sense waiting for a sale if you never really cared for this series. I do recommend playing this game

It's not a bad game, but it doesn't really do a whole lot amazingly well. For a game that's only like 4-5hours of gameplay, I ran into a few bugs/glitches, including one where I had to close the game and reboot it. There's a few scenes that's honestly quite annoying as it's hard to see sometimes where you need to go or when you are running it just feels random if you get past the eldritch inspired creatures or not. I also didn't like the ending that much. As for the good stuff, I did like the voice acting, the overall art design, sound effects, and environmental storytelling. But for me that just isn't enough to make up for the negatives of the game. Perhaps I would of liked it more if you could of connected a bit more with the rest of the characters,

It's a solid remaster that adds a few new things, but mainly it's just a refresh of the game. There's nothing wrong with that as it was a solid game back in the day. I will say the rpg/jrpg genre has evolved a lot over the years though, so some might find this a bit too basic for their liking. As for me, I wanted to replay this game and it was worth the price, you can get this on sale though. I like the cinematic events they added to this game. I like that they didn't really change anything to this game other than really adding some super moves that are actually cool to use, and also a bit easier to level and switch members in your group. I wish they would make a second game of this as that would be fun to play, I also wish they would keep some of the humor and put it into some of the newer mario games. This game does make me laugh at times, and not many mario games really keep this type of humor other than really the mario and luigi games. Overall, it's a game worth playing, doesn't overstay its welcome (only takes around ten hours or so).

A much needed take on the 2D mario games, as the previous games (the new super mario bros was getting stale and kind of boring). One word to describe this game would be whimsical. The different worlds and levels are well designed. I like the wonder flowers that add a dynamic to each level as it can create some fun moments or fun minigames. It's a mechanism that doesn't get stale and manages to stay unique over it's 100+ levels. As with almost all mario games, there's great art direction, no bugs/glitches, good music, but this game manages to stand out. One of my favorite games I've played in the past few years.

I'm not going to be super critical and give this like a 0/10 because I do realize that this game it is a rather older game and also I only paid like a few dollars for it, but this game just hasn't stood the test of time. Graphics are just really bland and terrible *don't miss the ps3/xbox360 graphics*. Nothing really stands out as a point of interest from the few hours I've played. Quests: wow this is just terrible, a good quest would either contain really good voice acting (this game has really bad voice acting in the sense that everything is either monotone or just words that really don't have meaning or just bland delivery), clear path and direction (this game doesn't give clear ideas or instructions or really guide you on where to go), and meaningful (not sure on this since I haven't played enough). What I can tell you though that I can easily predict that this isn't a game that magically gets better once you play a few hours, it seems like a game that stays rather consistent throughout, unfortunately it just isn't that great. For example, the quest where you have to guide the cart to the castle, I didn't know how to start this quest, and so i wandered around for a whole hour trying to figure out what im supposed to do and why I can't get past this gate, turns out I needed to rest at the encampment ( i don't remember this being told to me) for a fight to occur shortly after. I almost quit the game at that point because I couldn't figure out what to do. But then getting the cart to the castle, I mean what a slog, just borNing, super slow, tedious gameplay just on this main quest. Also, for me at least when it turns to night the graphics/lighting just look terrible. Like it's not fun at all to do any battles at night as it is hard to see my **** to be fair this isn't the worst game I've played, and there are some redeeming moments to the game, such as being able to recruit different pawns to build your group, and there can be some cool battles. And from what I've seen there is enough enemy variety in this game. I probably will play this game for a least a few more hours, but I'm not rushing to do that. But wow any excitement that I've had for the dragon's dogma 2 is completely ruined due to the meh reviews of that game plus due to my experience of this game.

There's really no improvements visually (I couldn't notice anything, but maybe there is a difference, if so it's very minimal.) Still has lots of bugs, menu doesn't work very well with controller, and long load times, and some to the point where it makes you wonder. This game isn't really optimized that well for console. This is a game that I wish they had more funding as it needed lots of quality of life updates and better game balance.

Overall, this game is a much improvement over BOTW. I gave that game a 8.5/10 score, this game I would give a 9.5/10 score. Although some may dislike the direction the series is going towards, I think the changes that have been done were much needed. In turn, the series has gotten even more popular! Pros: The boss fights are much improved from BOTW. I enjoyed them a lot and actually a few are quite difficult. This series needed some more unique battles, as the tired formula for zelda boss battles has been kind of repetitive. Another improvement was the fuse mechanic to make better and unique swords. Same goes for the arrows and attaching items to it. THat's a very unique mechanic that I don't think many other games have ever done before. Anybody who complains about the durability really did not explore the gameplay that well enough. I also liked that the game gives you quests and that you have quest markers, which botw did do this it wasn't done that well. There's a lot of quests in this game but you can just choose the side quests that you find interesting. Finding the memories are much easier in this game compared to BOTW. A lot more More enemy variety was needed and this game delivers. Cons: Not many, my only complaints are that the depths weren't that really interesting to explore. Not much reward to really go down there unless needed for the story. Also some smaller quests can easily be missed and would of been nice to have these quests early on and not like when im almost done with the game. Also if you get all the memories then the story dialogue gets a bit annoying as you know what's going on but the characters in the game don't get it? Also the framerate does drop during large battles.

Summary: A game that starts off strong yet leads into something that was rather disappointing and made me lose all interest. The puzzles also feel more like annoyances and are hampered by a story that falls flat. Going into this game I didn't know what to expect entirely other than I liked the art design and wanted to play a puzzle game again. It starts off well, exploring this island and looking for a cure while also looking for your significant other who was trying to find a cure for your afflictions. HOWEVER, i wasn't expecting a lovecraftian style and i'm not sure if that was even needed for this game. Gameplay gets rather boring after awhile as the puzzles are not enough variety, or some seem obscure. The character kind of walks a bit slow too. Voice acting: not bad, but the main character talks way too much and has to react to everything that you do.... I think the amount of dialogue could of been reduced a bit. Art design: I think this was the best part of the game. Game looks great on the console. Overall, it's a rather short game that's going to run around 6-7hrs. I could not finish the game because I got bored of it and I think that will happen to a lot of people who will try this game. But it is a game that some people will like. You can get this game for cheap, around $10 or less, and it might be something worth playing.

So this game I started months ago, and decided to finally finish the game. After playing it, it's a solid rhythm game/slash, and more welcoming to people who don't play these types of games or really care for it. Performing combos and doing bonus damage or higher score by matching the rhythm of the beat of the song is done quite well. The game isn't too punishing other than a few instances (like performing a 20 something combo exactly right or you have to start it over again was quite annoying. The other few times were some of the boss battles can be a bit unclear what to do at first or do too much cheap damage). Pros: music, gameplay, art design, characters. I liked most of the songs they created for the game. The overall gameplay is solid. The art design is well done and very unique. The characters for the most part are likable (but there are times when they are annoying). Cons: Some of the character dialogue is a bit annoying. Mainly I found it annoying during boss battles *most notably during the battle against the one character that you have to only dodge/parry her attacks and if you mess up your sidekicks just get really annoying...* This leads into my next point that some of the boss battles are just unfair or too long. Most notably the battle I just talked about as that drags on way too much, and the 2nd last boss character his battles does unfair damage. It's a shame too because the character idea they nailed it with the jokes with the music to the character design. Last thing is the enemy variety, this did feel somewhat repetitive as there's only a few real different enemy types. This in turn really makes the fights mostly the same after awhile. I also noticed that you can make the game a bit more boring if you only rely a few combos and keep calling in your sidekicks in battle (even though it's effective). Overall, it's a game that has very solid gameplay that definitely carries it's writing and pacing, as the game can drag on at certain points of the game. And the story it's nothing great but does just enough to keep you interested.

I had a much bigger review to type, but deleted it, so I'm going to give a shorten review. Final Fantasy: The start of the series, not a bad game at all but it's very bland and lacking many features that you just expect today. 6/10 score Final Fantasy 2: One of the worst games of the series, bad combat system, characters that even though have names, hardly have any personality, knock off of star wars. The key words system is terrible and easy to miss a word and confusing who to talk to. This game isn't very good and as the years go by it gets worse. 2/10 score Final Fantasy 3: Basically a much improved game of the first one. It's a solid game actually! The game holds up well, although your characters don't have a lot of personality. One of the better ones of this series, 8/10 score Final Fantasy 4: This game starts out amazing, but the second half of the game is when the story becomes kind of rushed and not very good. 7/10 score Final Fantasy 5: Not a bad game, but I just didn't like it. I quit this game after a few hours. The story just didn't grab my attention at all and the characters I didn't really care for. 5/10 score for me, but I can understand why some people may like this game Final Fantasy 6: one of the greatest games ever, and this game put the series on the map. A must play. This game for me is one of my favorites, and to sum it up it basically takes all the good stuff from the previous games, makes it better, and comes up with a very unique story. If you have to play one final fantasy game out of the whole series, this would be my recommendation. 10/10 score

So going into this game I played this on gamepass, and looking at the description and advertisement of the game, the overall sci-fi/horror atmosphere reminded me a lot of the game Prey (others mention bioshock but never played that series). However, the game kind of suffers from a lack of good storytelling and game design, probably due to a lack of budget as this probably was a small budget game and only a few people making the game. You could tell the ideas were there but the developers just couldn't finish it in time? or maybe they ran out of money and had to finish with what they had? It feels like more content was supposed to be in the game... The whole idea of the story with having your character trying to find her sister while navigating this desolate environment with a scientific breakthrough gone wrong...? Not trying to do any spoilers, but this game really had something here, yet failed to deliver. Time distortion being the main idea, so a good example of what they should of done is actually use time distortion to experience the past in order to solve the puzzles. Yet what actually happens is you just look for a piece of paper with numbers on it and then enter it into the lock, or look at an item to solve the puzzle. Since there's no combat, you would hope the puzzles would be good, but they're not... ANd if the puzzles aren't good, well then the exploration has to be good then...right? not really. The movement of the character is sluggish, she doesn't run that well, there's no combat (although a game like this couldn't they of had like a electric item or something to help stun enemies????? again another lame game design) and the jumpscares and chase scenes just feel random/stupid as I failed these a few times because sometimes it would be unclear where to go. Game is very linear, and why the character can jump/maneuver over certain things, but cannot go over a chair or a small box or table doesn't make sense. Music, sound, and voice acting are decent as you wouldn't think that with the flaws this game has. It's a shame too because when I first started the game I was very intrigued, but that sadly went to I"ll just finish the game because it's only a 4-5hrs game length... Overall, a 5/10 makes sense for this game as the game did work, didn't experience any bugs, has some redeeming qualities and a story premise that's quite interesting, but just badly created with a lot of flaws. If this game had a bigger budget then this game could of been a hidden gem. But for what we got, can only recommend playing this on gamepass, if you got to buy the game, I only recommend spending like less than ten dollars.

Lack of a story, repetitive puzzles, and no tutorial or explanation of controls really made this a disappointing game for me. I get why some people will like this game, but for me it just feels unfinished, when you can't even be bothered to have a quick tutorial or explanation of the controls or a hint of your abilities in the game. It should not be a puzzle to figure out the controls and what I am even supposed to be doing. As for the game itself, it;s one of those games you'll either want to finish since it's a relatively short game, or just stop playing the game because it's not fun enough. At least I tried the game on gamepass, and the game itself works as a puzzle game, so it's not a terrible game, it just doesn't do enough for me to finish the game.

Will start this review by stating I played this by gamepass (recommended way to play this game_ , and this is a game that at most should only be $20, do not pay full price for this game. I was actually hyped for this game when it released, and was waiting to play this, but waiting for sales after the reviews mentioned that it's not a long game and had some flaws. I waited and waited for a good sale on playstation, which took awhile and luckily it ended up on xbox gamepass. Cons: The controls are sometimes not responsive enough where I said a few times out loud why is my character going this way. The story although it does have some deep thinking, just falls flat and there's no reason to care about any side characters or their quests. Difficulty isn't really that there it lies mainly of messing up or unresponsive controls/camera and some gimmicks. Not sure why a health bar system was implemented in this game as it's too easy to get health regen items or way too many checkpoints so if you fail you go back to the nearest checkpoint. Game really doesn't innovate much and you basically seen everything after the first hour (remember game only takes a few hours gameplay run time, for me about six hours.) Ran into some bad bugs/ glitches/performance issues on the final boss and decided to not finish the game because of that. Meh: Voice acting is good enough. Nothing stands out but it is passable. Same goes for the music. Game length is disappointing for price point of game. Overpriced in my opinion. Although I will say this is a type of game that shouldn't been very long or that would of gotten boring really fast. Pros: I did for the most part like the boss fights, and using the open environment for these battles. The overall art and graphics are done very well. I really like the design choices made for the different regions. Overall, it's a game with enough going for it that it's worth a playthough, but not worth really paying a lot for. It's a game that has just enough going for it, but ultimately fails at being a good to great game.

I think this game has a lot of solid mechanics that I hope the game series Civilization maybe can take, as that's my favorite game of this genre. Where I do think the game somewhat fails though is just it gets very repetitive in terms of events/random events (after a few hours of gameplay you've experienced all the random events brought to your attention by your heroes). Upgrades don't really have a clear purpose as to why you pick something to build as that's something I just really had a hard time understanding what you should be doing other than expanding and producing more units for battles. As for the positives, the game looks great. I do like that you can have several heroes to lead a bunch of units as that makes it more fun, and you can equip items too. I do think the option to play out the battle, or have the battle simulated are great options. I do like how you can pick and design your kingdom in terms of abilities and perks that shape how you play and what units you get. I do like the overall customization. I do think this game plays better on mouse/keybord,as my experience with ps5 controller it's fine but it's not as snappy as i would think it would be on PC using mouse/keyboard. I think that it's a game worth playing, although I don't know if it was worth it at full price. Not a bad game by any means. I would recommend getting this game at a discount if you're a fan of the strategy/turn based civ style games

The core gameplay holds up after all these years, yet other parts show how dated/lack of development compared to today's expectations. Cons - The writing is just passable enough to progress the story, although it's really an eye-roll at times... I did find a lot of the characters to be annoying to indifferent. -The factions that you play as in the story surprisingly get worse??? Very odd design choice, but it's noticeable starting at act three, where you have to grind battles for experience points to level up. Necromancy faction feels very weak until you get a certain few artifacts and the better units. Then after that the demon faction feels also weak for awhile and same thing you have to grind battles. Then when you get the extra turn artifact it becomes too easy. The last faction feels the weakest, the magic faction is way too weak, all of the units just feel overall like there's too many negative aspects, and the hero ability is just terrible, it's up to chance if it does anything. An easy fix they coulda done is pick five spots for the lightning bolts to land, and you cant pick the same spot multiple times, that's way more fair for this ability. This in turn makes the last act of the story just drag on because the magic faction is just terrible and the fights take way too long, and just feels like a chore. I pretty much quit at this point because this feels like a difficulty spike but due to very poor design choice. For this being a definitive edition they could of maybe made some alterations to make this faction a bit stronger. - Some general bugs/poor design, as sometimes the music will play during a "cutscene/conversation" then abruptly stop when the conversation stops. Also during battle the music will sometimes not play, or a rather odd design it will play then finish the song, be quiet for a bit before playing another song, just kind of poor design. - In the story mode, I'm not sure why your "sidekick" for each act doesn't do anything. It would be cool if it was like a special unit, or they provide a small buff. Because their commentary during the story is very minimal and they don't add enough to the story. Pros I like the overall art style, with the different designs for each of the factions and units. If they ever make another game like this, I would like more dynamic backgrounds -The core gameplay is honestly quite fun, I like the strategy that results of the combine 3 units, with also other units that require two, or even four. and being able to combine/stack. I wish there were more games like this to be honest. -Gameplay and controls are responsive and easy to understand Overall, a solid game, but with some flaws.

Honestly the game is more of a 8.5/10 for me, but unable to give that score on this system. I finished this game like two years ago, but wanted to write a quick review since im currently playing through TOTK and will write a review for that once i finished that game. I'm going to list the negatives first, -Weapon breaking although it didn't bother me too much, it was annoying at first when you get a cool weapon and then it breaks.... i don't really understand why the bows break either. I think what they should of done for this game is make it where some weapons break easily, and then have a few more weapons that don't break at all. Because there's no reasons why the weapons break fast (totk provides reasons why at least in the story). Don't hate the overall mechanic, and it's more improved in TOTK -Enemy variety- This in my opinion is the weakest part of the game, the boss fights are all the same type of enemy. there's very few different minion types. Music- The music in the game is fine, it's just weaker compared to other games in the series. Positives - Combat is fun, fast, and fluid. Controls are responsive. So many different ways to approach fights - art direction/style is amazing, and I'm glad to say they carried that over to TOTK. -lots of characters in the game that can provide some comic relief at times -overall solid story, I like how you don't really know what's going on at first but slowly learn what exactly happened in the past, and what's going on currently. I love the final boss battles as it's very cinematic and symbolic. -I like the puzzles in the game, most of the puzzles were fair and it's fun using your special abilities to solve most of them. -The different environments are well designed. -Several hours of gameplay easily provided Overall, as an open world game it perfectly gives this vibe of "oh today I'm going to explore this part of hyrule," and spend like a good two hours doing that. It's an easy game to jump in and out of, and just have fun. I would set a goal of what I wanted to accomplish in my gaming session (usually about two-three hours at most), and then go have fun. It was fun just exploring the map. To those that complain about the game being open world, you do realize that a lot of zelda games are open world???, from wind waker, twilight princess, OOT, and many more focuses on the exploration. I can understand the complaints about wanting a more traditional game though like OOT, but idk if they are going to do that anymore. TOTK is more breath of the wild, and it's going to be years before a new zelda game since TOTK was just released a few months ago. What is clear is that these games sell very well, and I get why TOTK is very similar to this game. Maybe in the future games we'll get a different setting. It's pretty simple though, if u like this game then you'll like TOTK.

Wow, what a solid game. It's funny that this game has an unique identity, with some elements that gran turismo could of used. Although gran turismo is a solid game (ignoring the missteps in the beginning and management of the overall game and lack of content for casual players like me), it's career/story mode being through cafe menu books would of been so much better if they used voice actors or full cinematic actors like grid legends does. I also think the feature of being able to rewind when you make a mistake is such a great idea, instead of your race being ruined or fall behind and having to try to catch up for the rest of the race, this feature allows you to go back several seconds and basically start before your error and allow you to correct your mistake. As for the graphics, it's fine, nothing special. There are times though where some of the maps feel unpolished, *lights showing through map/hills, odd collisions with rails/walls, texture loading errors, these are just a few examples Also I feel like the game starts to run out of racing maps towards the end of the story mode. As for the driving mechanics, it's passible. I do feel like the weather elements don't really have the impact it should have. Controls are fine, although it does feel a bit less fluid compared to other racing games I have played. I did get this game through ps plus, and then got the expansion for like $20, which provides a bunch of additional story and different type of events. Obviously this game doesn't have the same seriousness of gran turismo or forza, but it's around the middle of the spectrum where it's casual but can be competitive yet realizes it's a game so it feels fun. Overall, 8/10 for me, you can get this game probably for cheap now, I know it's on gamepass too. Worth it in my opinion

Although this game does take way better improvements from pathfinder kingmaker ( I despise that game and I wrote a review for that as well), it just simply seems the developers just don't get how to truly make a charming rpg with minimal flaws. This game just simply sticks way too much to the source material (pathfinder), which in turns causes the game to be way overbloated right from character creation, and in turn creates annoying needs for constant usage of buffs, summons, and just overall luck from rolls in order to get past enemies high AC/dmg reduction. Pros -Much better storyline than kingmaker, and the game does feel like there's more at stake, causing the player to just naturally care more about what's happening -spell animations are way better than kingmaker -i like the option of turn-base and rtwp -Can get some cool items Cons -Although I haven't had the system crashing bugs like others have mention, I have had my fair share of bugs, ranging from characters floating in air, not loading properly (character riding on horse just disappears), certain spells just glitching (permanent stuck in a whole battle and my character could not move even after the spell wore off as an example), a fight once in awhile will get stuck and i have to reload/restart, menu options not always responsive (most notably when the glossary/tutorial screen pops up). -Horrible balancing/designed battles, either battles are just way too easy and thus not rewarding, or they are impossible difficulty. For example, in act one there's a fight at greygarden or whatev it's call, this one mage will summon swarms (which are completely annoying in this game) and if that happens it was an instant wipe for my team. i had to completely turn the difficulty down as I could not get pass this battle without doing that. SO please tell me how that's good game design? or how about defending the tavern, that battle is a complete slog that can take hours to finish and for what? irabeth and her sidekicks just sit at the back doing nothing. Who designed that battle and thought oh yeah this is a good battle lets keep it exact.... Or against the gargoyle boss( forgot his name) i only won because i had to keep trying over and over again until i rolled enough crits....These are the most notable examples *theres way more than this* -Too many sidekicks/characters, games like dos2, poe, spellforce, have a few companions which in turn leads to a more focused and dynamic character. In this game however, there's just way too many and just most of the characters are bland. Although I do think a few of them are cool, a lot are just downright boring or annoying. The voice acting is also very hit and miss. -game still has too many random encounters - game has way too many pointless fights/battles that inflate overall playtime. -game doesn't explain every key word, so you have to look stuff up. I think the overall plot is okay, and ft's a decent game that does have it's moments, but for me i've played like 45hours and im already kinda experiencing burnout with this game

A very solid game that delivers easily 60+ hours of gameplay, only held back by some repetition and subpar writing at times for some of the chapters. From what I've read, this is an improvement from the first game in almost everything. I haven't played the first game, but this one was on this system and needed a new game to play, and definitely a solid game. Pros - Great music and usage of it. So many different styles of music blended into this game to each of the travelers. Also very well done on how each song varies in the day/night cycle. I've spent some time just listening to the song and listening the oppositive version in the day/night cycle. Plus the final battles theme song and how that blends in for each character. some of the best music i've heard in a video game in awhile -Art/animation also very well done. great character design, and like how the main boss fights have the enemy be larger to show importance. I do wish they had more artwork in the game/character portraits because its so good -battles are well done and I found to use most of the items (some games u rarely use items and just end up with useless stuff). Only some of the enemies did get somewhat repetitive though -The voice acting is really good, with my favs probably being partitio and ochette -Overall stories are well done, I think my ranking of them would be (partitio, ochette, hikari, casitti, agnea, tenemos, throne, osvald) reason for that is throne's last chapter I didn't care for at all and there wasn't much lead up for something like that, osvald monologues too much and his final chapter is honestly a let down as I thought that fight was too easy. Tenemos's story isn't bad but he can be annoying at times/too much monologuing. Agnea's story made me laugh and cheer for her at moments and I like her character overall. Casitti's story starts out slow and I really didn't like the beginning as she just MONOLOGUES and is bland, but gets really better as it goes on as you connect the dots, has a fun final boss fight, and generally how she's like the mother to the whole party. Hikari's story is just well done even if it's been kinda done before, and he has some of the best fights in the game. Ochette is very funny through the whole game and I like each chapter of her story. Partitio though he's the best, best voice acting, fun boss battles, and his story does help a lot of people in the game and you want him to succeed. plus he tries to stay positive and see the good in everyone. Cons -too many random battles -you don't need to grind in this game which is great, but this game does feel too easy at times, maybe I would play this game again if they added a new game plus that makes the game somewhat harder. -The game can be very long, even I don't really feel like finishing up the side stories to fight the final boss, but that's okay -some of the chapters have some subpar writing (throne's last chapter was the worst one for me) - some of the charact'er's day/night actions to interact with others are either way too useful or just pointless outside of specific moments in their story (like why use hikari's to pay for info when you can just use casitti's to get that info for free, same with why use temenos's if u can just use casitti), same for why use partitio to pay for stuff when you can just use throne to steal the items... that's where you can kind of metagame it way too easily and not really feel any pressure of doing so, because even if you fail too many times you just go to tavern and pay a small fee (the money is very easy to make especially if you have partitio as your main). Overall though a solid 8/10 game for me, and well worth the playthrough and full price.

It's odd to give this game a low score, as there aren't really any glitches, the gameplay is smooth, the racing maps are great, but why is the game so difficult? It's like this game was meant for professionals, as even the dang time triials/license scenarios are difficult to even pass. and get bronze. When I try doing the arcade races and put the AI difficulty to very easy I'm still towards the bottom. I've played a lot of racing games before, including motorcycle games. I get this is supposed to be more realistic, but wow I'm glad I bought this one on a deep sale as this game is just really difficult. Don't recommend buying this one unless on a deep sale and you're willing to put a lot of time into this game.

I played this game on next gen consoles so I didn't really have any of the performance issues that many have listed in other reviews. I forgot to write a review of this game, but basically what it comes down to is that the game has improvements over the first one (from making it less noticeable as a Kickstarter project , as the first game had all those character internal stories that I didn't get what it added to the story until later finding out those were backers stories they came up with, which honestly was not needed and made it confusing if this was needed dialogue), to more voice acting and characters, and a more fluid combat system, and you get a more variety of items/weapons But the game takes steps back in regards to actually caring about most of the characters, as the factions in the game are all unlikable, they are all greedy and annoying, and oblivious in the errors in their ways. Like I remember reading that a poll/data the developers got, most people actually chose the ending/path to go it alone without help from one of the factions to finish the endgame. I think that's telling on how bad the factions are. Another issue was the ship combat was useless, it was just quicker to either flee or just ram and start the fight, not a very well implemented strategy minigame. Another issue was the random events that generally occurred while sailing, is that THEY REPEAT TOO OFTEN, it's like the developers only came up with a few roleplaying scenarios and thus it gets really annoying and noticeable once you get close to the end of the game that you really at the end game as there's not much to do and it starts to repeat. And what makes it even more annoying are the wait times/loading screens, so if you run into one of these on the main island you're just wasting time as travel takes awhile on the main island. And way too many loading sequences in general, so that gets annoying when you enter/leave areas or buildings. and they take a few seconds so you're going to be staring at those loading screens a lot........ The game didn't really sell well at first, so I doubt they are going to make a third game of this series, it's a shame because there's a lot of good ideas, but better funding of these games would of led to better games, and perhaps a third game. Wait for a sale/play on gamepass//ps plus. Don't spend a lot of money on this game As for my score a 7/10 is fair

I think this game actually had potential to be a hidden gem as it nails the artwork, music, and design, but fails in terms of gameplay and strategy with a terrible UI that I still don't know what some debuffs do. Pros The overall storyline is somewhat basic, with different factions based on the races (elves drow humans dwarfs foxiers) but you don't really feel like it matters all that much. It would of been really nice where you could really pick a faction and thus get like free items/better equipment/discounts/ and better companions. But you really do feel the emotional weight of the story Cons Lack of upgrades, lack of equipment, unnecessary difficulty that's not fun at all. What I mean by that is at times there's random events that you can stumble upon (traps, mimics, or moments as I call it (like stumbling on a hidden door, or wraiths/ghosts) but the issue is that the game seems to make it more likely you will fail, so you'll take damange/lose vigor, negative effectsand some of this can impact your whole party. due to this most likely you just choose to skip it and not take the risk.... a game that does this well is slay the spire as you know the pros/cons of the random event and you can decide if you want to do that. if the developers just even fixed this, the game will be better, but there's just so many flaws with the gameplay it really weighs the game down. Not sure if I will even bother to finish this game, but I did get this game for super cheap. Don't play this game unless it's on a big sale, don't even pay full price for this game.

This game is definitely an improvement over payback and heat. Payback's story was just hampered by random car improvements, terrible characters trying to copy a generic script of fast and furious, and Heat was too short, bad music, and boring characters This game takes gameplay elements from both, and surprisingly improves and makes a better overall game. I like the overall art direction of the game as it gives NFS an identity and the effects were really cool when drifting or using the nos boost. driving is well done in this game, like the overall map and environment, and like how the game overall progresses for the final race. However, the game needed different events, as the game is split into four weeks, but by week three it starts to get repetitive. I think at that point they should of added some drag races, time trials, or maybe even like elimination style, just something to switch it up a bit. Because by the end of it the game starts to get stale. That's due to the story is okay, but the characters range from cool to downright annoying, it also didn't need the satire that many comments will mention, like it's just annoying commentary that becomes cringe. It is what it is but the game didn't need the annoying podcast commentary and the main characters can say some random bs too that doesn't make any sense. Overall, I like this game though, and hopefully it sells well enough so we can maybe get something similar to this game, but with some better writing for once.

I never played this franchise so I can't really say how it holds up to the previous versions of the game. I do know that this is an old game that's been remastered before, and now it's remastered again! This is a TRPG, and I've been liking these type of games, along with CRPGs. I do like that it's not really a JRPG as those are generally not serious/too much dialogue, but rather goes for a medieval style which is quite cool. You don't really get a lot of games that have that setting and also are a TRPG. I like that it has a very deep story and explores a lot of themes, but easy enough to follow and understand what's going on. That's amazing since there's a LOT of characters, a lot of games fall into that trap where there's way too many characters and it just gets confusing who's who or why should we care, etc. You can get a lot of hours out of this game, and I think the game does deliver for what it is, an updated remaster with some additional features mainly voice acting. I think the voice acting is solid for the most part, and the writing is solid I do think there are a few flaws, mainly that some of the boss fights are really difficult as they get better positioning and have a few clerics, so it really draws out some of the battle length. Also, some of those boss fights can be just unfair and took me several tries before reading up on some strategies. Some of the fights can be lame though as you can just rush the boss for example if they are like a mage/sorcerer they can be easily won against, thus not as challenging battle then. Also, I'm not a huge fan of the level cap per sections, yet the enemies can be a few levels above yours. I think they could of done away with it and thus made that the easy mode for those who need to level up to win, as there's no difficulty levels in this game. If you put the time and effort, it's a great game, but the difficulty may be too much for some.

Although you can get this game for really cheap, it still disappoints on just how bad it is. For starters, the voice acting/writing is not that good. Why does the protagonist just sound aloof and unsure of everything, she's supposed to be skilled, not some brand new recruit. Also, although her character model is fine, there's some characters where they look way out of place/very low definition. Bland map, horrible AI, terrible enemy variety. But the worst thing is the controls for this game... horrible aiming, enemies will randomly just appear out of nowhere, it's literally a struggle just to aim. This gets even more highlighted by the stupid bike scenes, as it's terrible to control, some parts no clear direction on where to go, and then you easily take damage. this is where i ultimately quit the game due to how frustrating it was to control the bike. If they at least did the controls properly, then I wouldn't be as critical about the game, you would just say it's a low budget game and just accept it for what it is. but this is just terrible to play and a story that isn't even that good means there's really not much here to enjoy the game. basically just take the worst quests of mass effect, add terrible controls to it, and thus you have this game.

Would honestly give this game a 4.5/10, but I'll round up to a 5/10 just because I don't think the game is that bad to be a negative score. However, there are a lot of things that just kind of ruin the game overall. Pros - Good variety of cars, although some locked by microtransactions. - Overall map layout isn't bad, but too much desert terrain - For the most part I liked the driving mechanics/controls well Cons - didn't like the overall story as the main characters are really just knockoff characters for fast and **** the voice acting isn't good and which is made worse by the cringe dialogue, like not every conversation needs to have forced one liners or a joke or comeback..... it just gets really old -The biggest issue I had with the game is that really once u get about halfway done with the story, you really have done all of what the game has to offer, and the story isn't really good enough to continue playing. - You have sprint, drag, off-road, and drift challenges to complete to advance the story, and that leads to like a mission/cutscene event. Now the events are actually somewhat cool although scripted and it's cool how the crew comes together. But these are very few and makes you wish the game was more like that. and you have to spend hours doing these individual races/challenges against rival groups. The issue with this is that sprint and drag racing are fine enough and didn't have too many complaints, but the offroad just feels too difficult as it's hard to control the car and easy to wreck due to rocks and other barriers. The drifting challenges are too lengthy and not that fun at all. overall the game is okay for a few hours before it just gets repetitive, game is fine for few dollars, but paying $60 or whatever it was when the game was first released would of been very disappointing.

The game is decent, and still worth a playthough if you like RPGs/RTS , However, there's a lot of things that hold this game back from being really good. Cons: -Biggest flaw are the controls as spells would not activate even when clicking, would have to do the attempts several times to make it work. Not game breaking, but really annoying when spells are very important in this game -Some of the RTS sections are way too difficult and would often have to turn down the difficultly to easy, it's odd as the AI isn't that good, and will commonly just bullrush with units earlygame as the AI gets stupid advantages and lots of units right away. However, it won't do this for every RTS section, which makes it easier to handle. But seriously there are some really dumb battles where I shouldn't lose like in very few minutes because i have no units because the section/gameplay just started.... -The RTS sections don't feel very rewarding and honestly just feel like a slog to complete just to advance the story. And RTS games can be fun, but this game doesn't quite get to good RTS -Dumb that the RTS sections, "allies" will have units but don't even allow you control them to help, and even on one map they just get stuck. - Not a lot of choice in the RPG, like the conversations. Good - Did like the voice acting and most of the characters -Thought that the overall story was good but does sometimes get slowed down by the RTS sections of the game - Graphics look great on the system -Did like the spells/ability trees that you can use, and good equipment too - Good enemy variety - good gameplay length of around 35-40hrs Overall, it's a decent game that gets brought down by some of the RTS elements of the game and annoying controls that don't always work.

This is great value, as you get three games with each of 20-25hrs of gametime, and if you have gamepass it makes it even better. This was a series i've heard about but never played until just now, and man I wished I did so when it first came out. The individual games I'll give probably different scores than 10/10, but the value for this is too dang good. ME1: Very solid game, but clunky at times with the combat, the interface/menu screens, the Mako is way overused and is so boring. They did do updates to this game to try to make up for some of it's flaws, but this game did not hold up as well as the other two games. However, I still think this game is very solid experience and one could argue it's the best story of the three games, and it does give you the sense of exploration and lore, and the story is very good, with great villains as well. I would give this game a grade of 8/10 ME2: This is probably the most highly regarded game of the three. Major improvements from the first game, and best part is all the different companions that you have. The first game has good core companions,, but they aren't the most likable at the start and get better in the second or third game. They did away with the mako, although the dlc with the hammerhead or whatev. that vehicle was called was just as boring. I do like most of the companions in the second game, and I think most will have their favorites. I like the story of the second game, although one of the DLCs, I think it's the arrival, I played that midway through the game and was odd, until I learned that's the DLC meant for afterstory of the main game to tie in the third game. Also the paragon and renegade options lead to some funny moments and much improved from the first game, as the first game it wasn't really clear what that was being new to the series. I would give this game a grade of 10/10 ME3: This game is where I think it's not as well done. I did read that this game was rushed and you can tell it was. First of all, I don't know why they decided to have less companions, and you're really screwed if you lose two of the sidekicks in the second game. So that means you're down to five companions, and then of those one of them are DLC, which honestly you can miss that character easily. This was something I didn't like, as you can visit some of the companions from the last game, or maybe they team up with you for one quest, but it's a downgrade from the second game. Also, I did not like EDI as a companion at all and what they did to her character. The story is very hit or miss. I didn't like the ending, and honestly the last hour of the story just drags on too long, and the combat although is fine, some of the quests are just boring and going against cerberus had lead to some glitches and just really boring fights as a whole, especially against kai leng, which has some of the worst boss fights ever.. I would give this game a grade of 7/10 Overall, I enjoyed this series, hopefully they make a forth game of the main series So overall,

This game can be simply summed up as not enough action, and too much dialogue. ~ For me I don't mind some dialogue, as I've played games like Pillars of Eternity (although I think that game has a bit too much dialogue sometimes), but this game completely has way too much dialogue. It's interesting as the game was built/used pillars of eternity engine/design, and that's clear, but Pillars of Eternity actually you know had combat, sadly which this game completely lacks. I don't recommend this game unless you really just want to read texts and maybe it's a good story, but most players won't see the story as they'll probably quit the game in the first few hours, like I did.

Thought this was a good remaster of the original game. The original game basically influenced a whole genre of puzzle games and also games in general by showing you can add an actual storyline to a game, most games weren't really doing that at that time. The game does demand a lot from the player as it doesn't give automatic hints if needed, and it's really something you have to interact with the environment to figure out how to proceed. Some of the puzzles are really tough though, I will say this version if you add the subtitles it makes some of the puzzles a lot easier. I think this is a good remaster, although I will say that some of the controls are unclear as the game doesn't explain that you have to use the joysticks to move a lever, I think that could of been explained. I played the game on gamepass, if you do buy this game honestly I would wait for it on sale as there's not a whole lot of replay value.
