would have been a lesser score for me if not for the patches. main story got bland by dividing it into two regions but the patch stories and content made it for me. people might forget the tons of content the expansion brought due to not liking the main story quest of 4.0 but i did have a hell of a time although the empire plot could have gone another way but it did help set up the big bad of the next expansion

It is a vast improvement from 1.0 but still trying to get in strides. Story is somewhat underwhelming for the time needed to invest in and gameplay is not too bland. I know the story picks up , quality of changes incoming and the jobs are just pre-50 but judging ARR on its own is more fitting than judging it for the potential improvements it will have later on. all in all, its a good foundation for what is to come

What. A. Mess. Of. A. Game Main Character was offputting which showed the emo type characters of Cloud and Squall are better off in text based dialogues and cutscenes. The archetype suffered in the current cutscenes where can see nuances of their facial and body expressions. Story went needlessly convoluted halfway thru and this time the linear progression is more damning since we keep on changing perspectives over and over with the characters leaving no impression in me since we just go from pt a to pt b then change characters. Battle system was refreshing and challenging which is one of the positives i get from this game. Making a bad entry into the final fantasy series is understandable since we can't get all hits but not only doubling down but TRIPLING down on this mess of a title really breaks the momentum of the series. Relegating it from the top of the echelon of great series.

Game is still enjoyable even though it deviated from the previous 2 games. Enjoyment is subjected and it is greatly affected by our personal experience. Coming from a player that really didnt enjoy Origins and 2, this was a breathe of fresh air for me. Yes, i know a lot of complaints are coming from that the game is serviceable by playing thru a controller instead of mouse and keyboard but it didnt dampened my experience since i did play it with a controller. Story is interesting without the convoluted mess. Gameplay mechanics are simplified but I see this as a jump similar to the jump to Fallout 3 from 2.

Realism for realism sake is a fine idea but became oh so bothersome if you apply it to a 100+ hour game. The game encourage you to immerse yourself in its overly sized map and content but you find yourself spending a good portion of your time just going from point A to point B. Having played this in a time where I got a lot of free time to burn makes me evaluate it now at the state I am in. 2 or 3 hours of playing time will actually net you only 30 minutes of actual progress since you will faff about. Story-wise, it packs a punch harder than the first game but the player choice in decisions leads to just a few different cutscenes which make people tend to go for the happy ending rendering the decision choices moot. Nothing revolutionary in the 3rd person shooter battle mechanics and with the auto-aim as default (gameplay suffers if its disabled) then headshotting goons is a lot easier which makes upgrade of weapons also useless. Side stories are interesting and great in the typical Rockstar way. All in all a good experience but with lots of "time extenders" that in a way im thankful they didnt went the Ubisoft way of selling time freaking savers.

It went back to its roots by basically an enhanced version of the first game but not enough of an improvement to leave a different mark. The simplified system for the upgrade of personnel is backward for me since it leaves you with faceless list of characters unlike in 2 or 3 where you can specialized the jobs and equipment of your characters leaving you with tons of options how to tackle the missions. Still dont like that speed of clearance makes everything moot for the battle result ranking. Its a mechanic that I see in a lot of games but still dislike. It make sense in some scenarios where you go in hard and fast and disappear but there are other scenarios where a tactical approach is more interest but the game punishes you if you use that approach. Here's to hoping to an official port or remaster of the 3rd game in the switch.

Game lost the Metal Gear charm by making the story nonexistent. If by the time you come in its 5th main game and still complaining that its a movie then you better off try another game series. Going into the game expecting the twists and turns of previous iterations left me wanting. What more when it was discovering there's an act unfinished within the game. Metal Gear entrance to the open world genre was amazing. Controls and camera is far far better than what was before. Although the arrival of Quiet+Silencer Sniper combo cheesed a lot of missions. Mission system is flawed. I loathe the mechanics of time being the most weighted aspect when rating the mission. Gets the fun out of scoping, position and slowly removing all obstacles when time is all that matters. I will treasure this game since instead of opening metal gear into a whole new world, it became its swan song. Thanks Kojima and Konami. both you might be crap working together but at least you release this gem of a series.

The game stopped being niche just for being niche sake. It doenst care if its too mainstream now and less of hardcore. Capcom got something in mind for those who seek new challenge, Iceborne. Great gameplay loop No pay to win microtransactions. Matchmaking made easy. No long waits for a session. Just drop in killed some mons and go. 14 unique weapons with different playstyles and buids for each. With each weapon can itself be the gameplay mechanic of other games. Largely skill based and knowing the movesets of movements. No OP builds. Its just plain knowing how to deal with your hunts.

It is game that resonates to those who are longing for a game that make you feel again. The route B was offsetting as first since it didnt deviate enough fro route A but as soon as we start the game proper (yes, i consider A & B as prologue) then things really start to hit is off. Similar to anime where the first half of the season is light hearted with dark tones glimmered underneath the surface the everything start to boil up in the second half as wham moments come ini succeeding fashion that left me at awe. It is not for everyone but a game doesnt need to be for everyone to be considered great. It delivered what it aim to. An experience we rarely see in games nowadays. Best JPRG in recent memory. Only gripe is the pacing but this is a hybrid sort of dating sim with dungeon crawling so story and character development is vital. I take it like an anime where a character is introduced, then that person's back story then their current predicament. Social links where great, giving you recent why cultivate your relationship with other characters and although the go player lady is somewhat incomplete for me. Battle system and music were great. But they should realize they have to change the generic battle music after 100 hours into the game which is a common JRPG criticism. My GOTY 2017.

Only played the base game and not planning to play the Royal Edition any time soon. So disappointed with SE now they are doing things the EA/Ubisoft way. Release unfinished games and selling the rest of the content as DLCs. This is no excuse for a game that has been in development for so long. FFXV without chocobos and summos doesnt really feel a final fantasy game anymore. I know things adapt or change or it might just be since the game on release was incomplete. The story never moved me. Luna got so little screen time that she felt like a one time character in a series or an anime. Just inserted to give the main character some motivation. Side content are also bland. And putting the character development of the other 3 behind a pay wall is just icing to the disappointing cake of FFXV. These incomplete and paid extra episodes is not a good sign for the upcoming FF7 remake which I wont play until it is complete, probably by 2025. Lesson learned here in FFXV.

Need to fill your SRPG needs then try this tactical shooter/RPG game. Permadeath gives the dread of going into missions. Can't leave someone out to dry and forces you to move into as a team. On the timed missions, its a pet peeve of mine. Although it would be nice instead of failing the mission when the time runs out, we got tons of reinforcement from enemies which in turn is kind **** over but more challenging since extraction will be a lot of harder and will force you to leave one to hold of enemies. the game has performance issues, especially the fps drops which should be inexcusable for a single player game. Also a negative aspect of the game is suddenly the enemy got 100% vision on your team when only one is detected. turns stealth into all out shooter. I was hoping its not the case so that we can do diversion runs (with units not specifically design to be invi like scouts) and have a different approach to things.

If you want to do an open world then this is how to do most aspects of it. Navigation or how you traverse the open world is very vital since it will make travel less dull and more exciting. The paraglide and the swinging of spidey is what makes the map more fun to navigate. The puzzles and the shrine system is also a great way instead of the usually unlocking of map icons just for the sake of going there. Combat is something of a downer which is understandable since its a zelda game. Also didnt like the breaking mechanic of weapons. Never did like this concept although i understand it halts the power creep problem of rpgs nowadays with weapons getting more and more stronger and with the breaking mechanic is kind of like a gold sink. Still, even bows? Storywise, its unmemorable. Story progression is nice in a way that the game takes into account sequence breaking.

The game this should have been then we find ourselves at 1. I know people complain that every release of NBA2K, Fifa or COD are the same every year but those are released EVERY YEAR. we get city simulators every 4 to 6 years so I cant complain if it is not THAT different from the previous game. Or will the eventual realization that all that grind and hard work are thrown out the window almost every update where Massive changes things for the worse. Skill builds are crap and after talks and talks of different builds, it turns out dps builds are still the only way to go. everything else is just novelty. But as the years go by and the effort shown by bethesda in the making of Fallout 4 and Fallout 76. The mod capability they give to players is not from the goodness of their hearts but from their laziness. Outsourcing basically your quality assurance to players. So judging the game as developed by bethesda, i cant just give it the 10 i experienced. The true test of a bethesda game was fallout 76.
