A very, very good film by Inarritu. Masterful execution of the one-shot technique, brilliant and definitely one of the best screenplays of this year, great performances, one of the funniest films of the year, and time only flies while watching it. It flies so damn fast, that the movie feel much too short. Behind the masterful overall execution of the film and the main story, there is a somehow tragic story about an actor, who doesn't find his place on the world and starts to wonder, if he really matters on this world. A film that shows the true side of the entertainment business as well as it shows the "bad" side of being an actor. Not typical performances from Keaton, Norton and Galifianakis, but they fit in very well. A weird, genius, and awesome film.

Love is Strange is a modest, cute film, that doesn't stand out nor doesn't it want to stand out. Warm and masterful performances by Molina and Lithgow lead the film as it tells it's story. Good use of classical pieces of music, which only adds to the movie that little spark of something special. Even though directing and screenplay don't stand out as anything worth mentioning, it still is a warm movie. There also were some scenes that could be handled better, I could say the same for the story-telling. Not great, not flawless, but still worth watching.

From a technique of filming rarely seen on screen to the brilliant idea of wandering in history of a country, in this case Russia. This film is an achievement that should be more recognized. Wonderful acting by a lead character, who is a wandering ghost, who is at the end of the film so overwhelmed by everything that he refuses to leave with the narrator, who is also a ghost. Even with all the mistakes made in the film, it's a marvelous experience. A very, very beautiful movie with one of the best endings ever in film history. There is just something about leaving the Hermitage with the crowd and then fading back to the sea, to continue sailing forever.

One of the best directors, Roman Polanski, showed film students and everyone else, how a good movie is directed and what screenplay it has. A good screenplay is essential for a good movie and besides Casablanca and Pulp Fiction, Chinatown's is the one of the best screenplays ever in movie industry. Marvelous performances by A-list actors like Nicholson and Faye drive the complicated story of love and mystery. Brilliant movie.

One or two minutes too long, a type of film that only comes once or twice a century. One of the best screenplays ever put on film, great performances, bad-ass soundtrack, Tarantino directing at his finest, great cinematography as well. Complicated, the structure of the film somehow reminds me of Chinatown, but if I compare these two, Pulp Fiction is a little bit more appealing. You just can't beat those dialogues about burgers. Cleverly done, Tarantino.

This is, hands down, one of the best sci-fi films ever, and a very beautiful one as well. Not for everyone, this slow paced, with little dialogue, but stunning visuals. Who would've thought that Strauss and flying satellites would go along so well. Great performances, great screenplay, great soundtrack, marvelous cinematography, brilliant directing and a lot, a lot more. A masterpiece, a piece of art. Kubrick at his best.

A mixture of already seen, predictable, but still funny comedy and CGI filled action with which the movie boasts about. Even though the movie is nothing new or original, it still manages to not be boring. Performances of the leading characters are more than sufficient, while those of the supporting characters hardly. It's not the best movie this year, but it's worth watching, especially for Marvel fans. Above average screenplay, sufficient performances, it's funny, well picked songs, nice looking CGI and not to mention fabulous as ever, Glenn Close.

Not the best story and acting, but futuristic, innovative and perfect directing of Cuaron make this movie worth watching. There are a lot of modern movies that use the safe way of film making, imitating classics and not trying something new. But this movie is not one of them. It's a modern landmark in film making, it tried and succeeded.

Often considered one of the best movies ever made, this movie wouldn't be too long if it was 24 hours long. It shows you it's world, you enter it, and sadly after "just" three hours it ends. Perfectly directed, brilliant screenplay, flawless performances, timeless.

Not just a great western, a great movie, a masterpiece. Sergio Leone at his best, all the actors at their best. Not a typical western screenplay, but it's still brilliant and memorable. Brilliantly executed, like Casablanca, one of the movies closest to perfection.

Funny, psychedelic, sometimes a mess, but interesting enough to keep you in this weird trip through the movie. Hard to watch, but nevertheless, one of the movies you just have to give it a try. and in the end there are two possible outcomes: you either love it or you hate it.

A little bit too long, the movie doesn't fail to entertain. Gilliam had a great vision and an idea of imagination and he successfully put it on the screen. Great performances, matching music and a touch of Terry. Even non-Gilliam lovers are going to at least like this movie.

It's hard to explain for some, why they love this movie. For me, it's hard to capture the movie in few sentences, it's almost impossible. In my opinion the best movie ever made, Lawrence of Arabia has a scale no movie has, Brazil however, comes right behind Lawrence. It's not the longest movie and it doesn't have the most complicated story, but it's great storytelling makes this movie multilayered. The more you think of it, the better it gets and not to mention it's catchy theme song, that you whistle weeks after you have seen it. I will not even try to explain the story as it has so many interpretations including my own, so the best you can do is to go see it.

Spielberg exceeds his previous great movies with this one. Dealing with a subject that is not the most attractive, the movie avoids being depressing and hard to watch. Perfectly directed, great performances, marvelous story-telling, while using black-and-white technique doesn't drive off the least demanding movie lovers. However, it's length does. Gilliam criticized the "stupid" endings of Spielberg, including the ending of this movie. I can agree with him, although the ending is good enough to make this movie worth watching not just once, but lots of times. Marvelous movie.

Perfectly executed, flawless O'Toole's performance, not a minute to long and an epic soundtrack lift this movie above all other movies. Epic, genius, real, and many other words try to describe this movie, but the dictionary can't provide us the words to really describe the movie. It's not flawless, but one of the best screenplays ever in movies, epic soundtrack, excellent directing and realistic portrayals of characters make this movie the best movie ever made in the film industry. It's pure art.
