A surprisingly solid and hilarious film from the minds of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Great performances from Rogen and Theron definitely do justice to a hilarious albeit uneven script.

Definitely the worst of the MCU. This film is torture to sit through. Malakith is the worst MCU villain ever. This is all stuff you've heard before.

Not spectacular, and it feels a little overlong, but Brolin's performance as Thanos is impeccable, as are most of the performances from the cast. The CGI is a little spotty in places, but that's just nitpicking. Very good film.

Certainly a letdown, but still a competent and fun superhero flick that relies a little too heavily on jokes. Still, the introduction of Ulysses Klaue into the MCU is flawless.

The best of the Avengers films until Endgame came along. Joss Whedon's screenplay is fantastic, with a few hiccups, but it doesn't detract from the experience.

The best MCU film by quite a margin. The only thing that might rival it is The Winter Soldier, but this is easily the most satisfying MCU film to date. I cried FIVE F*CKING TIMES, and I almost never cry at movies. The Russo Bros. have outdone themselves this time.

Much much better than I expected. It's not perfect, and there is some cringe-inducing stuff in here, but Captain Marvel is indeed a VERY worthy, if unnecessary, addition to the MCU.

Utterly devoid of heart but entertaining from start to finish, Robert Rodriguez' manga adaptation falls flat in the ridiculous romance between Alita and Hugo, but flies to new heights during the fight sequences, in which the CGI is impeccable. Rosa Salazar and Christoph Waltz more than make up for the lackluster script. A pleasant surprise.

One of the worst movies I've ever seen, and I've seen "The Room" four times. Easily Shyamalan's worst, including After Earth.

Did you really expect anything else? With "Replicas", we have an unbelievably stupid sci-fi flick with some of Keanu's worst acting ever (and that's saying a lot). It's unintentionally hilarious and just everything was horrible. It's the worst film of 2019, and at the time of writing, it's only 17 January.

It may be too close to the original in some ways, but Rob Marshall's "Mary Poppins Returns" is almost as full of magic and charm as its 1964 predecessor.

This film is a mixed bag for me. I am a massive fan of Rian Johnson's work, especially Looper and The Last Jedi, but this film was kind of underwhelming. I liked it, don't get me wrong, but I think its goals are too lofty.

Though this film is not without its flaws, Travis Knight's "Bumblebee" is a surprising film with a charming performance from Hailee Steinfeld.

I hated this movie. I **** hated it. Everything about it ****. No character development, no story, all noise, no substance.

Though the special effects are great, Michael Bay's "Transformers" is an extremely average and forgettable film.

Though it can get a little slow in its more dramatic parts, Black Panther is still a passable Marvel film with a great performance from everyone in the cast, and some admirable work from Ryan Coogler.

A fun popcorn Rom-Com with a great cast and witty writing, albeit with some overdone, cheesy moment (all involve Hugh Grant).

While Creed II adheres maybe a little too closely to the classic Rocky formula, a good script and great acting from Michael B. Jordan and Tessa Thompson make this an admirable effort from director Steven Caple Jr.

An absolute masterpiece. Best film in the franchise. Coogler's sharp direction, along with Michael B. Jordan's performance, help this spinoff to propel the franchise to new heights.

Saves the franchise 16 years after the absolutely dreadful Rocky V. Stallone's performance is much better here, and though the story, and some of the characters (Mason Dixon, really?) are ridiculous, its overall charm helps its case.

Been there, done that, the film ****. Every bit of it is pretentious and stupid, with terrible performances, including that of the usually reliable Stallone.

Terrible, yes, but I'll be damned if it isn't entertaining. Arguably the most iconic antagonist in the franchise, Ivan Drago, is introduced here, and sparks 91 minutes of cheesy 80's fun.

Though the performances are great, Rocky II's average writing and bland direction cause it to fall short of it's legendary predecessor.

What can I say that hasn't been said already? Rocky is a classic. Stallone gives a charismatic performance as the title character, and Carl Weathers is perfectly punchable as the brash and arrogant Apollo Creed.

A convoluted mess from start to finish, David Yates' sixth entry in the Wizarding World franchise is a massive disappointment. J.K. Rowling's script makes no sense and it messes up the timeline. This is unfortunate, because the performances, especially those of Johnny Depp and Eddie Redmayne, are insanely good, but the writing makes this film the worst in the Wizarding World.

Yet another solid film by David Yates. It has its problems, but performances from Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, and Dan Fogler, along with a great score from James Newton Howard, really propel this film.

Easily the best in the entire franchise. David Yates' great direction, along with beautiful cinematography, performances, and score by Alexandre Desplat, make this a definite must-see for any Potter fan.

Maybe not the worst of the Potter films, but certainly the most disappointing. The effects are great, Desplat's score is great, but the acting feels flatter and more subdued than previous films.

It's good. It's not great. The performances are great, the effects are dazzling, and Nicholas Hooper's score is incredible. But Harry and Ginny have no chemistry, the script is flat, and it doesn't feel different enough in tone to The Order of the Phoenix.

The worst of the Potter franchise (so far, PLEASE Crimes of Grindelwald, don't be bad), David Yates' first foray into these films is a mild success, but it feels so underwhelming. This is the only Potter film to feel like a corporate product. Also, they took the longest book and made it into the shortest film. That's ****

This is a great film, though not quite as magical as Potter number three. This is the first PG-13 Potter film, and it definitely shows. Certainly the darkest of the first four.

Alfonso Cuaron's first (and only) entry in the Harry Potter film franchise is incredible, vastly improving upon the first two. This film is probably the most bizarre in the series, due to Cuaron's unique direction, but this is a positive, as it brings great performances, specifically from Alan Rickman, David Thewlis, and Gary Oldman.

While it is over-long at more than 150 minutes, "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" improves upon the first in almost every way. Series newcomer Kenneth Branagh shines as the brash, arrogant, and flamboyant Gilderoy Lockhart, an incompetent Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Chris Columbus definitely succeeds with this picture.

Though it kicked off the Harry Potter franchise, I can't help but feel a little underwhelmed by Chris Columbus' first entry in this franchise. Though the acting is great and it is faithful to JK Rowling's great novel, the film is just okay.

Though the performances, particularly that of Rami Malek, are impeccable, a bad screenplay and rapid shift in tones bring this film way down. It should have been much better.

Rian Johnson's first feature film, albeit not his very best, is fantastic. The dialogue feels like it's from the 40's, and while some may consider that a flaw, I consider it the biggest success, as this is meant to be a neo-noir film. The acting from JGL is superb, and when that mixes with beautiful camerawork from Steve Yedlin and Rian Johnson's direction, you've got yourself a nice little noir thriller.

Rian Johnson's violent sci-fi thriller is superb, perhaps the best sci-fi film I've seen in years. Far superior to his first film, "Brick" (which was still pretty good).

Solo: A Star Wars Story is a surprisingly good film, with a solid performance by Alden Ehrenreich, but Donald Glover steals the show. The story does have a few structural problems, though.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is a great film with stunning visuals, great acting, and beautiful cinematography. Rian Johnson really delivered with this flick. Not saying it's perfect, there's a good quarter of it that could and should have been cut out, but it's solid, for the most part.

Damon, Affleck, Skarsgard, and Williams all give fantastic performances, but that isn't what makes this film special. What makes this a classic is the writing by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. They make the characters seem real, and makes the viewer invested in them.

Though not quite as good as the first, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is a wonderful cinematic outing, with a surprisingly hilarious performance by Dave Bautista.

A hilarious and exciting tale, James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy is an instant classic, providing the laughs and exciting action to please any filmgoer. Another success from Marvel.

Nearly flawless. This movie was my favorite of 2014. The only flaw is that it is ****. However, it's performances and characters are certainly enough to keep you invested through its 2 hr, 45 minute runtime. If you have three hours to spare, take a look at this masterpiece.

Though this film does have its flaws, I believe it is the strongest of Abrams' Star Trek adaptations, with great performances from Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Zoe Saldana.

Sigh. That is the only reaction you'll get from me after watching this film. This tries, and ultimately fails, to recreate the magic of Franco Zeffirelli's 1968 version, but in a modern setting, not even following the classic story. This is one you can skip.

Though J.J. Abrams gives it his all, this film ultimately lacks the excellence that I expected. It feels too much like Star Wars. Don't get me wrong, I love Star Wars, as a matter of fact I like it better than Star Trek, but when I go to see a Star Trek film, I want it to be a Star Trek film. That said, I do like this film. It features great performances from Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, and Zoe Saldana.

A cheesy film with decent special effects, but laughable dialogue and direction, Roland Emmerich's Independence Day: Resurgence is a film that can be described as nothing but a hot mess.

Raiders of the Lost Ark is a wonderful film from director Steven Spielberg and writer Lawrence Kasdan. You have not lived if you haven't seen this film, same with Star Wars. Harrison Ford, as always, gives a convincing performance as the title character, and the rest of the cast does a damn fine job as well.
