Joker9
Nov 8, 2022
Joker's Metacritic rating, 59/100, is unacceptable for me. What we see here is the peak of DC, one of the most accurate and tragic and thrilling and best character-studies ever made, a marvelously directed and acted (Phoenix may be better than Ledger) social commentary and deep drama. The origins of Joker are darker than we thought, his monologue in the end pretty much explains how a man like Joker, can born. Perfect film. And if you ask me, that is this better or Parasite, I'd say I love both equally, but Joker is the more Oscar-compatible film and that's why lots of people were surprised by the fact that Parasite won the award. Enjoy both film, praise their merits and appreciate them!
JOKER: 9/10

The Lighthouse8
Nov 8, 2022
Another proof that 2019 was one of the greatest years of film since 1994. Maybe THE greatest. With films like Joker, Parasite, Knives Out, The Irishman or The Lighthouse, 2019 was the most satisfying year to watch a film of our generation. The Lighthouse is a straight-up psycho-thriller (while also being literally the best horror of the century), with two actual human characters (one is performed by the great Robert Pattinson and the other is the even greater Willem Dafoe), fantastic cinematography, a haunting atmosphere, and these things will make you either love or hate this film. But it will definitely be memorable. It has many already iconic scenes (imo), while it explores the darkest parts of madness and insanity. Recommended. 8/10

Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi7
Nov 8, 2022
HOLY ****
So, I may be the biggest **** in the multiverse, but by every single rewatch, The Last Jedi gets better and better. And now, in 2022, I even feel bad for **** hating this movie back when it came out. Compared to the 9th episode, it's amazing, and, imo this is the best of the entire trilogy. It's like another example for the Watchmen-effect. The film ages like fine wine. At least, this movie got huge balls, great action sequences, a brave plot and some story as well!!! Kylo's character was still great, Rey was still annoying af, and Luke was still destroyed in many aspects. But for some reason, the film feels great. It works. And it provided an excellent foundation for a never-done 9th episode. It's flawed, really, but not a mess. There was some complete **** as well in the movie (Holdo, Canto Bight), but at least they weren't pointless. Overall, I'd say it's much better than we remember, but still "only" a good movie. And I can't believe I'm writing this, but now I almost agree with the critics who praised The Last Jedi "anno". And it gets a 7 from me. Somehow. Don't ask. No idea why.

Spirited Away10
Jun 25, 2022
Here is the definition of a perfect arthouse film that is acceptable for viewers, but also astonishes all critics at the same time. Miracle of animated works & storytelling, deep, philosophical, existential and a uniquely beautiful tale, that, for me is THE BEST FILM OF THE TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY.

Sucker Punch5
Jun 25, 2022
Felt like a bit underrated on RT, a bit overrated on IMDb, so my Metacritic rate is a stable 5. For me, it wasn't that terrible, felt like an okay steampunk tale with a beginner Harley Quinn.

2nd part of the best trilogy ever. Another Biutiful story.
Wanted to give it a 10 just for the joke, but we don't need that zero.

365 Days: This Day1
Jun 25, 2022
I can't give it a 0, cuz theoretically there are "actors" in this film and events (at least in the first 15 minutes). I am a true masochist.

Fifty Shades of Grey1
Jun 25, 2022
Horrible for both a movie and a porn film. IDK why critics gave it 46 **** points.
I am giving it a 1, because I'm purehearted. Anyways, **** it, this didn't even happen... THIS STUPID BULL**** **** **** FILM! :) Conclusion: **** and **** are not bad words by any means.

Watchmen8
Jun 25, 2022
This is going to go down in history as one of the most underappreciated masterpieces, and best adaptations. Its pace may be too slow for many, the vibe too dark and gritty, but come on. This neo-noir hypnotical mystery **** you in, and does not let you go, just because of its realism, even though it takes place in an alternate universe, that makes it even more thrilling. It has insanely deep characters, dramas, fantastic cinematography, and a superb cast. It is not a superhero film. It is ART. And gets an 8.5.

Ready Player One7
Jun 24, 2022
A literal orgy to GEEKS, the Bible of Gamers, and a great fun to the average adult, Ready Player One has a little bit of everything, and it still doesn't feel hasty. A complete visual eye-gasm (like a better 2nd Avatar), an homage to Spielberg, to video games, a modern Renaissance, a puzzle and an easter egg-filled heaven for youngs, and a fun to adults. Of course, this could not have been done without Ernest Cline's genius novel. (7) F A N G A S M

Ratatouille9
Jun 24, 2022
Legendary Pixar-film that does not get the recognition it deserves. Better than Toy Story, Inside Out, The Incredibles, Wall-E, or Up! This film masterfully tells a story while its animal characters are the most human. Endlessly rewatchable, unique, a beautiful animated tale. gets a low 9 but 9

Great spy movie. Easy one, but still better than most modern Bond-films (didn't say every), even if it is a comedy. Fresh, feels new, and good.

American Psycho8
Jun 23, 2022
There is something special about this film. Bateman's psychopatic personality, his journey, his murders, inside the layer of a darkly comedic satire, a great starter of the 2000s, a kind of cult classic, and the most unique character-study (with Joker). |8.5/10|

Get Out8
Jun 23, 2022
Peele writes his name into the Big Book of Big Horror Directors with his debut, the best debut I've seen this year, Get Out. The eerie and uncomfortable atmosphere, the feeling of unease, one of the greatest twists I've ever seen in a movie, and a superb cast are the ingredients for an excellent horror. And Get Out is an excellent horror. 8.5

Django Unchained9
Jun 23, 2022
Quentin Tarantino's modern magnum opus, one of the new millennium's best films, Django Unchained has the director's most common motifs: long, fast-paced and witty dialogues, brilliantly written characters & story, specifically in this masterpiece of a film, the neo-western elements with a superb performance from Christoph Waltz and Leonardo DiCaprio, and an inimitable bloody Tarantino-style. MAGNIFIQUE! 9/10 !!!

Knowing8
Jun 23, 2022
One of the most underrated films ever made, one of the best sci-fi films in a long long long long time, Nic Cage is brilliant, the kid actors' performance is chilling, it is dramatic, a really suspenseful thriller, with shocking scenes, and an ending you will most likely never forget. 8

Knives Out8
Jun 23, 2022
For me, the 3rd best movie of 2019, after Parasite and Joker (which is a really big thing). Here is technically everything you want from a crime film: Agatha Christie-like fabulous writing with dark twists and turns, some drop of bizarre comedy in the ocean of drama, complex characters, a brilliant detective, and a Chris Evans. lol 8.25/10
Jun 23, 2022
The Martian8
Jun 23, 2022
Awesome movie, one of the best in 2015. Matt Damon is shining at humor, the film is thrilling in every single minute, and Mars is a great place to a film, you know? The more down-to-earth style of the film somehow makes it even better and funnier.

Prometheus6
Jun 23, 2022
The most controversial movie of the 2010s after Last Jedi. So, your question is: Did I like it, or hate it? Well, I am technically neutral. This wasn't horrible, but not good either. Just, had its weird philosophy, questions, dreamlike atmosphere, and worldbuilding, even if it was not done the way fans wanted it to be.

War of the Worlds5
Jun 23, 2022
Exciting alien invasion drama, Tom Cruise's acting was meh, but it had a brilliant atmosphere, aand lots of plot holes. The ending was a bit weird. Not in the good way. I give it a 5-6.

The Tomorrow War5
Jun 23, 2022
A fine little movie, you know that it could have been that typical summer alien invasion film, and it still had some extra things, and that's why it was fun, and just okay.

Spider-Man 27
Jun 23, 2022
this is some good stuff right here. My favorite superhero film, probably forever, and the most absurd is, I can't totally explain, why. It has an unrepeatable charm, great performances, a unique approach to the daily life problems of superheroes, and...really, just, a great CHARM.

Captain America: Civil War7
Jun 23, 2022
Finally, a non-conventional superhero film, that has a genius of a villain, some great dilemmas of our characters, some great fights, realistic twists, action sequences, some thought-provoking moral questions, that absolutely can happen if heroes would exist. It's the best in the trilogy. By far. It is really not even close.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier5

Fine film with a great twist, a Black Widow, and a huge battle at the end..that made the film dumb & dull. Sad, it had potential in the first hour.

Captain America: The First Avenger6
Jun 23, 2022
Surprisingly aesthetic. Both in creating a journey, both in creating friendships, new exciting characters, worlds, even if it's probably the most predictable MCU film ever, has the worst villains this world has seen and is mostly equal to the depth of a kiddie pool. Definitely good for once, not an amazing film, but an ok flick, I guess. It's worthy of a 6 for me. (I may overrate it, tho (And I'm pretty sure I just did that..))
Jun 23, 2022
Thor: Ragnarok7
Jun 23, 2022
Woah. Best movie of 2017? LOL??? Okay, maybe not, but God! Taika Waititi became already an MCU-master and a comedy director genius! The 2 best Marvel films since 2008 in 1 year? It is true. Infinity War and Ragnarok. Ragnarok is funny as **** has great characters, those who maybe don't have so much background, so much emotional depth, or connection, but they're just GREAT to laugh at! And when the connection is there, yes, Thor & Loki's duo is fricking hilarious, they had the greatest moments in the film, even though this also had the worst villain ever EVER, just like Doctor Strange had, but while in that movie it was irritating, and the story was built around him, in Ragnarok, I just didn't care. The previous 2 were meh films, but the weirdest in all is that the trilogy's most non-mythological movie expands the most in its characters, Asgard, but, oh, wait, it also has the most creative bypass-sequence I've ever seen. Sakaar's folks, the Grandmaster, the Contest of Champions, all those little jokes, I love Waititi's style, the mix of the trash superhero movies, boring American comedies, and also some artistry, at least in the visuality, and its, sometimes unconventional techniques in storytelling. GOSH, need to watch it 1000000000000000000000 times again. Huh, lucky, cuz in Sakaar, time is not passing that fast. 7.75-8.25 level

Avengers: Age of Ultron5
Jun 23, 2022
Now, I am the one who rates this film in the worst possible way, I know, but no character-development, or story, or villain, or style, or anything. Except these, the film is 10/10, but the bad news is, the other things are the jokes (lol), the visual effects (that were good), the battles (that had no depth, I mean in the way that REAL stakes), or maybe some good scenes that expand this universe (new Avengers, new enemies, new blah, blah, blah) and a fine kind of "sequel" in the form of Civil War. The Avengers were fine. That is it.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 26
Jun 23, 2022
Had its moments, but felt like, the creators had millions of ideas, and we saw just a drop of the ocean. Well, it still had the best visual solutions a Marvel-movie ever had, or an even more colorful palette of characters, now, even the villain wasn't fully saltless and boring, but I won't say that Ego was an evil buddy we actually feared, I'm just saying, that he had a story, some connection, and some stupid & boring **** as always to come up with a "motivation". At least, it was spectacular, and also funny, and also had great songs and you wouldn't expect, but emotional power. Not much worse than the 1st one, imo.

Guardians of the Galaxy7
Jun 23, 2022
Oookkay, so this was a surprise. I mean, after Iron Man 3, it was a blast. And, it was the funniest movie of the year! bY fAr!! Not just the funniest, but also the one that felt the most unique, especially if we know that it is an MCU-movie. However, it got the most colorful brigade of intergalactic pirate S-holes in a movie ever. Uhm, yeah. The story was surprisingly interesting. And holy crap, it had a villain. A VILLAIN, that has no motivations, no past (and well, no future), nothing, just Thanos in the background as the boss (whose Loki wasn't a big deal, too), and a blue **** face! F***YEAH! I wonder why they needed another bad guy...except that, it was a wild ride. The wildest, and most eccentric that I've seen so far in the Marvel Cinematic ****, and it was cinematic.

Spider-Man: Far from Home6
Jun 23, 2022
Better than the previous, the MCU's 2nd Spider-Man movie takes a fresh turn on the genre, aand...okay, maybe not an Infinity War, but still, finally a new movie, not an imitation, that expands the universe the best way possible, and its characters, too. Holland was a great choice, now I know, why. Big surprise: the weakest point of the film is the villain. Just the usual. At least the name "Mysterio" is **** badass. Looking forward to the next SM movie.

Spider-Man: Homecoming5
Jun 23, 2022
I am one of the rare guys who think that the original, the Raimi-trilogy had the best Spider-Man movies. The peak of it all was the 2nd episode, for me. After that, it was kind of disappointing, but still better than the atrocity that the Amazing Spider-Man was. The story is flat, most characters are flat, especially the villain, Holland's performance is good but nothing spectacular, loved his dynamics with Robert Downey Jr. though. After all, it's good for once, watch it if you are completely abandoned of ideas, it won't hurt.

The Irishman7
Jun 22, 2022
WOAH. Scorsese kind of wrote his swan song with The Irishman, a 3 hours long gangster-epic, with Pesci, De Niro and Pacino in the centre, and an emotional accounting of the biggest works he did. Gets somewhat boring in the middle section, but still, it was a blast to see the life-work of a timeless genius. Best Netflix film of this year.

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It4
Jun 22, 2022
This is NOT Conjuring. It's a joke. Not gonna rage, it doesn't deserve that. But, still, I'm disappointed. Not after The Nun, that was a mess. A garbage. But Annabelle 2, and Conjuring 2 were great! So, I'm watching 3, aaand hohooly... Not necesserily unwatchable, but don't consider it already "good". Cuz it is NOT good. It is kinda at a B-horror level, and it would be alright, but it is unacceptable from a Conjuring film. Damn, low 4, but, 4...
Jun 22, 2022
Doctor Strange4
Jun 22, 2022
Was a pretty mediocre Marvel movie for me. I would even say it was bad. Not the train wreck Ant-Man was, but decently not decent enough to call it good. It just had nothing special, it was spiceless, soulless, it looked "cool", but that's it. Doctor Strange is likable, but who cares, if we don't have to worry about his character? Because the villain is the biggest dumbass of all time and the literal humiliation of Mikkelsen. And that's the problem. At the end of the day, we have an origin story, a villain who makes no sense at all, and a forgettable story I already don't remember, even though I watched this yesterday. My rating is a purehearted 5, as the sign of being irretrievably mediocre and at times, simply bad. EDIT: changed to a 4. bye-bye

Avengers: Infinity War8
Jun 22, 2022
The epic culmination of all the Marvel superhero stuff that came out in the last 10 years. The pressure was enormous, that this film had to embrace and worthily say "goodbye" to all the matter that has been parked so far. And, oh yes, it did. But didn't stop there: Thanos is the most understandable MCU-villain by far, the studio did what no one, NO ONE expected, and finally, just was the most grandiose and spectacular event in the last 10 years of en bloc films (after Avatar, LoTR-trilogy and/or Titanic, eww). WELL, it gets a well deserved 8 from me, just because it did everything we wanted it to do, and much more.

Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)8
Jun 22, 2022
Wow, I really didn't expect this one to be a good movie. But it was! And yes, I love psycho-thrillers, and yes, I love satires. So this film, as a blend of those two genres, and being a "Hollywood-critic" was a blast for me. Especially that it is a cinematography-miracle, Inaritu really outdid himself, just like as Keaton, Stone or Norton (Gosh..). I am going to give it a stable 8; not less or more, but it is definitely one of the best in 2014, that I had to watch in only 2022. But now I know, why it beat Whiplash 8 years ago. RATE : 8.5

Dune: Part One7
Jan 24, 2022
It's probably the movie of the year, I loved it, the visuals, cinematography and holy **** the music was incredible but Zimmer always makes memorable soundtracks. The acting was great, Chalamet was pretty good as Paul, and everyone else too. For me, that's a secret yet that Zendaya is good for Chani or not. The 1st half of the book has been mostly succesfully adapted to the bigscreen, finally. 7.0/10, I was pleased.
