You need to see this one on the biggest screen possible, and let it wash over you as if you had stepped inside the most incredible video game experience ever created — one in which events in the manufactured universe can have lasting and serious real-world consequences.

My main beef is with Spielberg’s choice to leave out his own work, both as producer and director: “I didn’t corner the ’80s market,” he told Entertainment Weekly. But yeah, he kind of did.

Ready Player One is my favorite movie of all time. When I first watched it, I really enjoyed the aspect of something interesting going on the whole time. I think in a world where tech innovation grows and gets better each and every day, this could be a foreseeable future I think. With VR headsets already a thing, and Meta glasses on the rise, it is not crazy to think of a world where everyone spends their day on an online server. I think the movie does a great job focusing on the aspect of strength in numbers. Although the members of the group never met in person towards the last half, it was clear to see how strong their relationships were just through a screen. In a movie like this, I think there can be times where a scene falls off and makes watchers lose interest, but this movie has no parts like that. The idea of the plot of the movie was genius, as each part was a step in order to find the final egg. This is a movie that if I am ever bored, I can throw it on the TV and watch it with full attention at anytime. The references to older games, movies, and quotes are things that do not go unrecognized. The love of the older games makes the movie better as it shows that even in a world with all the crazy tech, sometimes the first ever editions are the most important. Overall, I think that this movie is a great watch and would recommend it to any action lover movie. There are plenty of edge of your seat moments, and moments where you get to find the answers to the quest as well. This movie is a 10/10, and I cannot wait to see if there is a second movie going to come out.

Dazzling in form and a chase film at its heart, Ready Player One is exhilarating, but it also can’t sit still. Fitting to the content perhaps, the movie still arguably suffers from troublesome A.D.D. with its hyper fast cutting and its tendency to wander narratively.

Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One is competent, occasionally rousing entertainment that nonetheless left me a little bummed.

Ready Player One is entertaining enough, and it’s certainly well-made, but what truly stands out is the filmmaker’s prevailing-present sense of bemused disgust at the way his offspring are spending their time. He can’t go home again, and he knows it.

So much of Ready Player One is assembled from the detritus of our past that it is less a film and more an overstuffed cultural recycling bin. A shiny, expensive, well-cast and professionally assembled recycling bin, sure, but a trash heap all the same.

With Steven Spielberg behind the camera, Ernest Cline’s book had potential to transcend its source material. It’s disheartening that the finished product is little more than the cinematic equivalent of a pop culture mashup tee, which takes cherished icons of film and coats them in garish CGI while clumsily smashing them against one another like a child playing with action figures.

Ready Player One is an Action Sci-fi Film That Takes place in the Oasis and Columbus Ohio In the Year 2045. The Main Characters Are Parzival, Art3mis, Aech, Sorrento, Sho, and Daito. A summary of this movie would be that Parzival/Wade Watts Is trying to find a Hidden Easter Egg With his Friend Aech. They fail and meet Art3mis and they eventually figure out the first clue get the attention of IOI and Get hunted down by I-ROk, After a Quick battle Parzival and Art3mis Part ways, and just shortly after that Parzivals only family left are killed in an Explosion. Parzival Is saved By Art3mis/Samantha they then go on to solve the 2nd Key. Samantha Is then Captured by the IOI and Parzival is Saved by Aech, Sho, and Daito. They simultaneously Try to save Art3mis and Try to Break into the Tower Which Holds the 3rd key. They Eventually Save Art3mis and Break into The tower Beating and Getting the 3rd key. One of the few positives in this movie is that the Visuals in this movie are magnificent showing Beautifully done battle Scenes and fight scenes, For example, The Last Battle Scene on the Doorstep of the Tower Involves a Ton of Characters From an Uncountable Amount of Franchises Giving this Avengers Endgame Feel and Providing an example of what CGI could pull off in 2018. Another Amazing Thing about the Visuals is How they Blend Both Reality and the Oasis into one, an example of this could be when Parzival is Talking to Sorrento in his office, The Particle Effects are Truly Stunning and the Blend Between Reality and the Oasis is just the same. One more positive for this film would be the insane amount of references Ranging From Back to the Future to the Iron Giant, yes, the References/ "Easter Eggs" Kind of Give the Effect of Product Placement and fan Service for Pop Culture fans, but as previously mentioned heighten the final battle scene in the movie. Now Onto the Rigorous List of Negatives. My First Negative is as previously stated the Number of Characters/ "Easter Eggs", Which Eventually After the First 10 Minutes gets boring and annoying. Another Negative of this Grueling Movie is the Incredibly slow pacing towards the middle to end part of the movie, which conveniently is part of the movie with the least Oasis Scenes, Which translates to your story isn't a whole lot interesting without fancy Visuals. One last Negative is how the film explains underlying ideas and other such things, for example, the scene in which they talk about the Atari Games is extremely annoying because the writers suspect that everyone watching the movie doesn't know what Sword Quest and Adventure is. Some Things that Hit the Wall and Kind of Landed are everything and anything I didn't mention giving this review its 6/10 stars. To put this Review into summary the Visuals, Blending of Reality and the Oasis, and the sheer amount of "Easter Eggs" " but these Easter Eggs Also Give Rise to Possible Product Placement and other such things, another negative is the writer's way of conveying ideas, like how they explain what Sword Quest and Adventure is, One more negative is the incredibly slow pacing towards the middle and end of the movie. Everything else Movie movie-wise is ok in terms of quality.

good movie, many effects, many details. compelling storyline but told too quickly. perhaps with a trilogy. if they had followed the book faithfully it would have been a masterpiece, but so it's just a good movie.

Streamed it on amazon. Quite a visual spectacle. The thing itself however...perhaps im not the target audience. Exposition falls from the sky in huge greasy chunks. Veritable conveyor belts of contrivances and conveniences. A tawdry and shallow **** pop culture lightshow that challenges its audience with that old fundamental question. Hey, remember this!? With every shred of nuance or subtelty abandoned, the thing just sort of begrudgingly ends having accomplished nothing.

This is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I haven't read the book, and I won't do it, but this thing is only a bunch of mentions without a good plot. What a shame.
