Thor: Ragnarok

It’s a movie that, to put it in terms that the film’s screenwriters might appreciate, is Thor-ly needed.

Thor: Ragnarok, the latest installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is so delightfully funny that it’s almost a shame when the film reverts to its campy, melodramatic roots. Thankfully, that’s not hammered too hard.

The greatest trick this studio wants to pull, at this point, is to make more of the same feel either exhilaratingly fresh, or sufficiently retro-inflected to qualify as a nostalgia trip. As both, Thor: Ragnarok counts as some kind of double peak.

One of the silliest and least substantial of recent comic-book movies — a jokey, unapologetically nonsensical romp that makes “The Avengers” look like “The Godfather.”

The whole movie is a grab-bag of insanity so off-the-chain hilarious that you stick with it even when the convoluted plot goes haywire.

It’s brassy, breezy and gut-bustingly fun; unfortunately, it’s at the expense of the film’s drama and pathos.

While it’s not saying much, Thor: Ragnarok is easily the best of the three Thor movies — or maybe I just think so because its screenwriters and I finally seem to agree on one thing: The Thor movies are preposterous.

Thor: Ragnarok is one of the best superhero movies of all time, and Hulk is the best!

I like the MCU adventures that don't take place on earth. They're more colorful, interesting and fun to watch. That said, the plot is basically the same again, the comedy was really bad, and the villain underutilized, like always in those films. Some effects looked really good, some didn't. The score is actually really good for a Marvel film. I think if Ragnarok was the first Thor movie, I would've loved it. At this point in the MCU, I'm just tired of all the cliches.

They took Planet Hulk one the Hulks best stories turned it into a Thor story and then made it way worst while also filling it with bad humor and removing any emotional weight

Kitsch and cringe. Full of action and shoddy humor. Extremely childish, the only MCU film which makes me agree with Scorsese, a low quality theme park. Exactly the path that cinecomics shouldn't take.
