Captain America: The Winter Soldier is a tremendous piece of pop entertainment, smart and engaging and featuring a home run movie star lead performance by Chris Evans.

This sequel is, by design, entirely absorbing and satisfying without being one whit memorable.

This film is an insult to every director who dismisses the genre by saying "it's just a comic book movie." There are no purple aliens or magic portals here; instead, we have a man out of time discovering that the world he sacrificed everything for has rotted from the within. It’s a story of paranoia, betrayed friendship, and punches thrown with a brutality that almost makes you forget Steve Rogers is supposed to be a symbol of hope.
Bucky Barnes, as the Winter Soldier, is a silent and terrifying threat: every time he appears on screen, you feel the urge to double-check if you locked your front door. The only "negative" note? After watching this, returning to the flatness of a Thor 2 or a Captain Marvel feels like switching from caviar to budget canned tuna. A masterpiece of balance that proves if you have a solid story, you don't need a thousand explosions to keep the audience glued to their seats.

CA:WS = a World Series HOME RUN! This was out of the park! I was on the edge of my seat the whole movie - both times! Loved every second or every minute - TWICE!

An often breathlessly exciting action thriller told with humor and intelligence.

It needs to seem cool enough that we want to watch it despite its obvious silliness, and viewed through that prism of canny analysis, the craftsmanship of “Winter Soldier” is first rate.

It’s OK for April, in other words, but not up to the higher standards of a Marvel summer blockbuster.

Despite one or two moments of Venture Brothers-worthy fancy, the film is as by-the-numbers as any this series has ever offered.

"Captain America: The Winter Soldier" is definitely the best movie of UCM!
Great action, plot, characters and everything more.

The plot is quite classic for Marvel movies but well developed and with a good dose of action. The film is not a jumble of superheroes and enemies as happened in other chapters of the Marvel saga but develops all its protagonists well, basing everything on an action seasoned with fights and technology without exaggerating in the unrealistic elements. The best of the series dedicated to Captain America

What The Winter Soldier does not have is the actual structure of a political thriller. It's an efficiently made, TV-style superhero flick. The good guys punch the bad guys, the cars crash into each other, and the big CGI heli-carriers crumble like peanut brittle.

Just another overrated cliché fest with terrible dialogue and mindless special effects from Marvel. The movie is the best definition of "mediocre" i could ever give, from other reviews i have read, they were saying that it was an unpredictable dark "masterpiece". But it was the complete opposite. It was really annoying how i could predict everything that was happening through the movie, it was painful to see a lot of incoherence in the events, and it was also annoying that lazy writers were just giving to the plot structure conveniences to the events. I really dislike when the laws of physics don't apply to Marvel productions and even worse when they are in favor with the protagonist, just for the plot device to work. It has an awful script, it has a mediocre directing, it has okay performances and it has a really pretentious and dull story without knowing itself to be taken serious or not. Come and hate me Marvel fanboys! Because this is the most overrated movie of 2014!
