On balance it’s one of the most buoyant and joyous pieces of television I’ve experienced in years.

Watching The Bear feels like being inside a real kitchen — heart pounding, noise everywhere, no space to breathe. There’s no trick here. This is how it truly is: the shouting, the sweat, the pressure, the fear of messing up, and those rare seconds of quiet that vanish as soon as they appear. It doesn’t exaggerate. It captures perfectly what happens behind those swinging doors — whether it’s a neighborhood café or a Michelin-star restaurant. I’ve been there. I’ve seen it. I’ve lived it.Every episode is a pressure cooker. Talent, anger, anxiety, exhaustion — it’s all there, boiling together. But amid that chaos, there’s something deeply human. The Bear isn’t just about cooking; it’s about broken people trying to make sense of themselves while everything burns around them. That’s what makes it so powerful.Jeremy Allen White is extraordinary. You can read everything in his eyes: despair, devotion, love for something that both drives and destroys him. The rest of the cast is just as strong — every character scarred, every one holding on with what little strength they have **** show doesn’t give you a break. It’s relentless, intense, and painfully real. Kitchens are like that — places where perfection doesn’t exist, where survival depends on rhythm, teamwork, and faith. When the credits roll, you’re drained but somehow grateful, thinking, “Yes, that’s exactly how it is.”The Bear is one of the most honest, powerful portrayals ever made about work, passion, and sacrifice. Raw, sincere, unforgettable.

This show is like a foie gras. And I don't even know what a foie gras is, or what it tastes like. My point is, it's not overdone and you don't have to be a chef or a cook to appreciate the show. The writing, the cast, and the cinematography have been mixed and turned into a spectacular dish. All you have to do is savor it. Thank you, Chef!

"The Bear" is back, and it remains one of TV's most satisfying, thrilling, and remarkably human stories. Its complexity has not wavered, its humanity has not faded, and its melancholic humor has not dimmed. In short, one of the best shows has not lost a step.

The show strikes a much better balance between fan service (fun with the Faks!) and forward story momentum. The new episodes have just enough of what we want from the show.

Even though Season 2 of The Bear isn’t as frantic as Season 1, we get to know everyone at the restaurant better this season. And the second season is shaping up to be funnier than the first.

The season climaxes in well-earned, nearly unwatchable pandemonium, and then in emotional resolutions that are perhaps too tidy. I mostly bought into the intensity and delirium of the journey without always being sure if it was a trip I was enjoying.

A bafflingly bad batch of episodes that gravely misjudge the series’ appeal. .... The new season suffers from both a surfeit of ideas and a lack of vision, relegating beloved relationships to the background while larding the show with characters and story lines that fail to compel. .... “The Bear” has lost the plot—even the food looks unappetizing this season.

The first two seasons were already spectacular. But Season 3 Is Art. A gift for which I’m full of gratitude..

The episodes are okay for the most part. The story is also passable.
The actors are not a perfect match for the characters they play. In many situations, the series comes across as being extremely nervous.
But you still enjoy watching it in a relaxed way, no complicated twists or anything like that.

Hugely overrated, hugely pretentious, family drama that plays bad music constantly throughout every single episode. Seriously, a song finishes and another one starts playing. WTF. Just let there be silence in the background. Play music that isn't meant for a 50 year old Christian mother. And please, for the love of god, stop sniffing your own farts!

There's something about seeing clips of real events and places in Chicago, especially for any of us who are from the area. It wouldn't matter how good the show is or not that trip down memory lane, good or bad events, brings us to times that we can relate together or on our own.
It will gain viewership, as it is well written and produced and acted.
As far as the story, there isn't any ownership for this. No way to understand really what is going on or how it relates to viewers, especially those in the industry, thus taking advantage of a wave to gain support for selective groups and reasons which likely aren't valid or reliable. It feeds into our poor communication in our culture as well as supporting ideals that are more complex than have been presented here. And it is all done by not taking any responsibility for facts, perceptions, context, etc. because it is a form of art rather than news even though it is presented the same way as news.
Again, for those of us from the Chicago area the issues have never been light or easy, much like the weather. For anyone to understand would have to "bear" through storms much worse than any of the family fights shown in the episodes. No, speaking from experience, just putting people together, no matter how much support, won't work. Some of us have been waiting for popular culture to finally admit what many of us already know about these **** just isn't our cross to bear.

Overrated drama/comedy kitchen show which manages to be a fast moving 30 minutes and also, for a good portion of the time - painfully dull. The supporting actors are a let down and the writing is ( tonally ) all over the place - 3 overcooked stars
