For a series that spent part of its run wandering through its own anxieties, this final season feels like a triumphant, hard-fought victory and a sweet redemption after a third and fourth season that wobbled more than anyone wanted to admit. More than that, it cements "The Bear" as a modern classic despite those bumps.

By The Bear’s standards the air-punch moments veer into indulgence, but we've been through so much together that we've earned episode seven, the most tearful, joyful, human hour of television you'll see anywhere this year. It also contains three or four of The Bear's best ever gags and by far its most hilarious ever one-off character.

It's the end of the series, which I love. Laugh and cry. The most important thing is that you feel the family here. Love for people and food. Amazing series.

'The Bear' final season emerges as a great farewell. The series transforms a final service into an experience of anxiety and self-discovery for almost every character. Seven high-tension episodes, in which everything seems about to fall apart, culminate in a finale that feels like a family gathering, full of humor and nostalgia; the place they meant for everyone. One of the most human series we've had in recent times comes to an end.

This last supper of a season is a culmination of all their training, formal and otherwise, blending into a stress test that amazingly feels less stressful than many of this show’s loudest cortisol-spiking installments. At every turn, it shows its people trusting each other, taking care of each other, and dealing with the unexpected wrenches and scripts that would break most devices.

Forget your reservations about last season and step up for one final feast at Chicago’s finest, feistiest family restaurant. Two words—Yes chef!

In its fifth and final season, The Bear scales back down to its fundamentals and delivers a satisfying farewell to one of the most electrifying television series of the past decade.

The final season isn’t without high points — Episode 7, “Caramel,” easily ranks among the series’ best — but it is a somewhat treacly sendoff that finally succumbs to its own sentimentality at the end. Bye, chef!

We can report the show gets good around Episode 6 and even approaches the quality of vintage 2022 and 2023 “Bear” in Episode 7. This upward trend suggests the onetime Emmy magnet and cultural phenomenon will wrap up on a satisfying note. Early Season 5 episodes, however, are haunted by the same narrative indecisiveness that has long followed “The Bear” like a county health inspector with an itchy thermometer finger.

A very by-the-book final season, lacking major surprises, plot twists, or setups for future spin-offs and yet one that still delivered plenty of emotion, especially in the last two episodes. It will be sorely missed, but it was truly time to bring the series to a close.

The final season of The Bear is basically the show looking at everyone and saying, “Okay, enough sightseeing—everyone back to the kitchen.” And thank goodness for that. After seasons that greatly expanded the universe—sometimes even too much—the finale trims the fat and returns to what has always made the series work: people freaking out, dishes running late, bills coming due, rain pouring down, family trauma rearing its head at the worst possible moment, and everyone trying to turn chaos into **** idea of concentrating almost everything into a single day works very well, because it feels like one last test of endurance. It’s as if five seasons of arguments, lessons learned, failures, and small victories were thrown into a pressure **** finale does rush some answers, yes, but the emotion holds it all together. In the end, the missing Michelin star may never have been the restaurant’s, but rather the one that comes from seeing that makeshift family finally figure out how to take care of one another.
