If The Anarchists were just about the movement itself, it would be boring and enraging. But because it’s about how the movement got infiltrated by people who made things increasingly chaotic and violent, we’re ready to see where the rest of the series goes.

It’s a fascinating portrait of against-the-grain dissenters and their pipe dreams of true freedom, commencing with promise and concluding with the age-old lesson that you should be careful what you wish for.

The characters are captivating—so much so that their personalities often overpower Schramke’s own perspective.

Schramke's ability to wrangle all of these narratives into a coherent form proves to be sporadic and limited at best. ... But whatever draw it might muster comes down to something far more basic, explained in the words of Juan Galt (yup, no relation): the anarchy dream crashes against the reality of human conflict, and drama and s**t hitting the fan.

It’s not bad, but sometimes a six-part series ends up being ideal for viewers who have the approximate six hours to see past a project’s padding to a leaner, more purposeful version of its own story.

Episode 1: The episode went by fast for me. I was thoroughly entertained by the writing, acting, and high production values. I identify with this form of anarchism, which is far less violent and centralized than any other forms of anarchism I've encountered, those others relying on force to operate, which seems contradictory to "Anarchism". On the negative side: Did the director even think about how the book burning with kids running around cussing would look to the average free-speech-respecting inviduals? I'm curious to learn more and will certainly be watching future episodes! Maybe this is what the world needs! EDIT after watching Episodes 2 thru 5: Wow. And I got so tired of hearing Paul's fake voice spewing gross, dark **** It seems to have become the Paul, John, Jason, and Lily show. Too much repetition, too. Could have edited this entire series down to a 2-hour film or at least made each episode half as long. Much as I've learned about Anarchy, this film shows very little of that and far too much about drama; personalities and their mistakes. This film gives property-respecting Anarchists (yeah a certain flavor many call Voluntaryists) a really bad name. Shame on you, Director. Shallow, lame, boring, and shows Voluntaryists in a bad light.
Summary: Well produced, entertaining, and educational.

It's dead center for me. It's laughable, because all these people are laughable, and that definitely makes it entertaining, but there's no counter-balance of genuine passion for it. It's everyone just trying to promote anarchy and themselves as a brand for the gig economy. None of them are anarchists. They're just broken people who think anarchy (or any other substitute) is the answer. That makes great reality TV. The only person I believed to be genuine and decent was Lilly's (or Brenna or whatever) dad. He just wanted to see and be proud of his daughter.
