Bloom’s ingenious anti-rom-com was one of last year’s best shows. It might be even better this year.

Throw in a few dynamite song and dance numbers, and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend feels just as joyful, courageous and ambitious as we left it.

One of my favourite shows of all time. Focused funny and human. Honestly unique with it's musical segments and wacky characters. The way it treats it's characters is humane.

Amazing, comedically perfected and underrated. Best show I've seen and the most feminist and inclusive show out there. Can't wait until season three and four in the upcoming falls.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend has only gotten better, more confident, and more consistent as it's moved along. It knows exactly who its heroine is, what she's good at and what makes her terrifying, just as well as it has very quickly and appealingly figured out how to turn any potential weaknesses into additional strengths.

Yet, for all its jam-packed insanity, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend can be one of the tube’s most perceptive and moving shows.

The whole thing comes wrapped in music: a couple of typically clever original numbers, and incidental touches such as a novel use for Scott Joplin’s ragtime touchstone “The Entertainer.” Even the show’s theme song undergoes a re-think; as Rebecca explains, it’s “an emotional thesis statement for myself.” It’s this kind of self-consciousness--tart and pointed, yet not excessively vain--that gives Crazy Ex-Girlfriend its lift.

There are times when things feel just a little off. Perhaps because of pressure to meet the high expectations set by season one or just some minor challenges finding its footing in season two, the writing occasionally comes across as forced, especially with regard to the Rebecca-Josh-Greg triangle.

Girlfriend remains stubbornly weird, including in an avant garde musical number (pictured above and after the jump) that proudly proclaims it busted the show's budget.

'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend' is probably the most underrated show on television right now. It's amazingly well-acted, tremendously funny and creative, leaving us 'adorably obsessed' by it.

This show reminds me of Flight of the Conchords. What sets this apart from FOTC, though, is that the dialogue between characters is as funny as the songs and the storyline is stronger, whereas in FOTC the bits in between the songs just felt like filler to set up the next song. Sure, maybe females will get more mileage from the show and relate more to Rebecca, but funny is funny.

When I first started watching this show, I loved it. I couldn't stop. I binged for like 4 days. The first season was awesome. But they should have stopped there. I can't deny the satirical genius of Rachel Bloom, but the once stirring and volatile show has become prosaic and mundane. It's once appealing satire has become trite and played out. I haven't even made it to season three so i can't imagine how nauseating that story will be.

Really feel like it's lost it's charm this season. The songs are a bit of a throw-away and don't seem as integrated with the sets and story as they used to be. It's like, time for a song, cut to a different set, let's shoot this song, now back to the story. Last year, much more integration into the actual scene where characters would just start to break out into song in the midst of a scene, like it was a natural thing to do. Songs also seemed more funny and clever last season, whereas this season they feel a bit forced. Story is also beginning to struggle with the eventuality of being bogged down in a love triangle that swings back and forth, and back and forth, and reality. The fun thing about this show was the absolute delusional fantasy that Rebecca was in and the struggle to maintain it and having Paula be right there with her. The show is struggling a bit to find the magical sweetspot of last season.

I thought the 2nd season was a dud. She went from the cute kind of crazy, to the uncomfortable kind of crazy. I also thought the musical element felt very forced this season and didn't flow like season one. What felt like a charming show that i couldn't wait to see in season one, became a chore to get through the second season. I have zero excitement for season 3 at this point, not even sure I'll watch unless I'm really bored at work.
