Gritty and fiercely feminist, the series is very much an Arrowverse show that also stands as its own thing.

Batwoman is a good show. Season 2 and 3 were the best season. They need one more season so they can at least get closure.

What makes “Batwoman” stand apart is that Kate is a lesbian, and by the end of the premiere she’s caught up in an unconventional-for-TV love triangle. Beyond that, this superhero show is admittedly more of the same.

Batwoman sometimes drops the ball. It’s a brand name with several new twists. But it also can seem like another one off the assembly line.

The series doesn't exactly hit the ground running, and appears short on arrows in its quiver, to borrow from another DC-CW staple. If that dynamic doesn't improve, other than the most loyal acolytes of the DC universe, it's a poor candidate for committing many more nights to it, dark or otherwise.

The result is messy, as was maybe inevitable — but it’s also not particularly satisfying, which was much more avoidable.

The show doesn’t seem to know how to handle Bruce’s absence, so he’s mentioned at every turn, making Kate feel less like a person with her own story than someone grafted onto his. ... The visual palette is all muddled grays or treacly, warmly lit flashbacks. The fight scenes lack tension and dynamism, relying on quick cuts and multiple angles to manufacture a false sense of energy. There’s also a missing spark of chemistry among the cast.

Season 1 was very entertaining. I love the characters, the storyline and the action scenes. The pilot episode is way too packed and isn't a really good start, but the show quickly gets better. Rachel Skarsten is one of the best villains in a long time and Ruby Rose does a good Batwoman. First I wanted to give it a 9, but since I see the many troll review and their hate campaign, it give it a 10.

It had some good moments but struggled to find that DC formula was missing and cast going different directions made it especially hard to watch.

Nowhere near the abomination other reviewers suggest, mostly because of perceived "wokeness," but still only average at it's best. Also, slight note: Kate Kane's Batwoman was always gay, Batgirl is the straight one.

Many reviewers are picking on the show for being overly politically correct or 'cause she's gay (they obviously didn't read the comic books), but that's not the problem with this show. The problem is a combination of really poor writing and really poor acting. Ruby Rose is the right person for the basics of this role. But the moment they try to include some emotional scenes it falls flat as she doesn't have the acting range for it. Her character appears to be heavily based on CW's Oliver Queen. Similar gruff exterior. The main difference is that Stephen Amell portrays a character with gruff exterior and hints of hidden emotion. Ruby Rose portrays a character with gruff exterior and the hidden emotional fortitude of a paper bag. At times it feels like she just can't be bothered to pretend that she cares about her character or any of the characters. Rose's portrayal aside, the story feels like it has been thrown together from a combination of the most boring bits of other DC TV Series and movies with the actors lines being written by a high school English student. I love the CW DC shows so I'm holding out hope that this improves, but right now it just feels like a show that's DOA.

So what was you thinking about here? Provoking is ok but not so extreme. Hardly anyone can cope with such a person. 1: Batwoman comes over like a man. Too much emancipation. You shouldn't overdo it. 2. Catwoman is too arrogant, big-mouthed and ergo a totally unsympathetic part. You don't have to be surprised that you hate them. 3. She simply breaks into the Wayne house and behaves like the axe in the woods. Didn't the script give more?
4. The villain is female. Is every important role female? What is the background to this? Conclusion: A very anti-male series that wants to provoke and shoots too far over that. And did Batwoman have to be a tough lesbian? Nobody wants to see anything like that in the U.S.A. and where else.
