"Caped Crusader," however, is a creative new take on Batman that reminds us why we are fundamentally drawn to hero characters in the first place. Sometimes, through sadness and anger, we need to face unbeatable corruption. This is an amazing show.

It’s more than a worthy addition to one of the most storied franchises.

Absolutely banger of a show. A nice fresh take on the Batman universe. Who cares that they race swapped the penguin. She was a tiny part of this story.

Although Caped Crusader doesn’t reinvent Batman, it successfully draws from several eras of everyone’s favorite poorly adjusted superhero. Its film noir aesthetics, varied villains, and slightly less fatalistic turns create a series that stays true to its roots while finding enough of its own identity to avoid feeling entirely derivative.

Caped Crusader is willing to let its main character recede into the shadows so that it can provide a more fully fleshed-out sense of Gotham and the people who live there. But even if he’s often slinking around the edges of any given episode, this show’s Batman still feels complex, swaying between a compassionate desire for justice and an obsessive need for revenge.

You’ll find fewer operatic origin stories for supervillains here, but in their place are some captivating whodunits and the occasional visitor from worlds beyond.

This Batman is clearly not yet the finished article, and sometimes the storytelling is a little rough around the edges, too. But with a second season already commissioned, there is certainly scope for Bruce Wayne to work on himself.

“Batman: Caped Crusader” has some serialized elements but its 10 episodes are mostly one-and-done crime capers. Of these, only one really digs into Bruce Wayne and his trauma. .... One could be forgiven for thinking Batman feels at times like an afterthought in his own show, but that’s as much a comment on the richness of the world he exists within as anything else.

Finished the first episode and loved it. Brings me right back to the original. Love the development of the characters

If you've seen anything "Batman" before, you'll probably be disappointed by this new show. Boring, flat stories and uninteresting limited animation make "Caped Crusader" a snooze fest for Batman fans. The voice talent is good and the score moody, I also liked the backgrounds. I won't watch more seasons of this tho.

swapping genders and race of iconic well established characters is outrageous, but overall animation and voice acting wise it was great!

I really really wanted to like this series. There was a lot to like. They could have made this the next great Batman for this generation if they wanted to. But the millennial generation writers blew it. It is only fair to include a comprehensive list of what is good about the show and what ultimately killed it for me. Whoever is writing this show clearly is a liberal. List of things to dislike: Jim Gordon and Barbara Gordon are NOT black and they are depicted as black in this show. Stop blackwashing characters! That is no better than whitewashing! Stop gender-bending villains! Jim Gordon is not only of Scottish descent, Penguin has only been a man ever since he was created! Harley Quinn is a overweight lesbian and not even a villain, just absolute disregard for how the characters have been portrayed traditionally over the past 80 years. There was no freaking need to make the penguin a woman! Stop making men into women! You liberal cucks! Batman himself did seem a little bit of just a moody angsty dude. What I liked about the 1990s Batman was yes he was a brooder, but he also tried to redeem people. He was really good at brooding and doing other things. Sometimes it does feel like this Batman is a little too much of a teenage angster. Seems like this Batman continuously fails at doing his job, failing to save Harvey, failing to stop somebody like Rupert Thorne, failing to stop the Penguin, this Batman is an A+ loser. And probably the worst part, they killed Two-Face right as he was becoming a villain. For some reason he doesn't flip a coin either, and that has been a part of his persona since the beginning. Two Face is a major reoccurring villain in Batman's repertoire of enemies, I disliked that they got rid of him so soon! Or hey.. how about redeeming him? Why do you have to kill him? And why is Batman antagonistic towards Alfred pennyworth? One thing these writers prove over and over is they disrespect The source material. They don't want to respect the original writers and that's a problem. List of things to like: Hamish Linchester does an amazing job voicing Batman. I also DID love the Harvey Dent and Batman deep friendship in the show. It was a definite call back to the original relationship they shared in the comics. Honestly, I liked the depiction of THIS Harvey Dent more than the Dent of the 1990s Batman. He was more attractive here. Understandably some people felt Harvey Dent was not very redeemable because of how smug he was, but I honestly felt like it was just a human flaw. He was a little smug in the original comics too. Doesn't mean he's a evil dude. But I was disappointed not only to see Harvey Dent's wife Gilda not making an appearance (especially because she's a major part of his character) but was disappointed they killed him off in the season finale! The depiction of Catwoman while it was great and I loved that they included an original portrayal of her outfit from the 1940s... The Catwoman from the 1990s animated show will always be my favorite. The voice acting is phenomenal. I have no complaints about the voice acting Overall, I walked away from this show after the season finale dismayed and disappointed. Not only did the treatment of Harvey Dent/ Two-Face upset me... I wasn't all that happy with the direction of the show in general. There is too much obvious need to bow down to the current liberal voices. I would say avoid this rendition of the Batman legend. They wasted a good opportunity because they were too worried about pleasing modern audience! And they just couldn't respect the source material!
