The Huffington Post
One of the best shows on television. Just as long as you realize it has moments that will make you feel really really sad.

The first four episodes of which are even more self-assured and odd and tragic and ridiculous than anything Galifianakis and company tried a year ago.

If you don't like it you just don't get it. Baskets is a well acted. extremely funny and witty show that will resonate with those who are passionate about what they are doing but what they are doing may not traditionally accepted by society.

This show is a refreshing drink of water isn't it? As always, Louie Anderson is fantastic. Me like.

Baskets will never be a walk in the park. And it no doubt remains too dark for many. Some rays of light are showing, though, by the end of Episode 4. Nothing overly warm and toasty, mind you. But some welcome little thaws.

The chemistry between Anderson and Galifianakis drives the best parts of the new season, but it’s not at the expense of sharp humor, biting irony and plummeting self worth rendered funny by its sheer hopelessness.

I’ll keep checking it out for its incidental pleasures. A lot of Baskets’s best humor is totally random

Guided with indie sensibilities and a benevolent vision, FX’s winningly earnest and delightfully guilt-ridden program continues to be yet another marvelous accomplishment for the constantly impressive station.

Chip is still searching, but in this new season his story--how it’s told and how it’s framed--is much more sincere and affecting. And yet, it has not lost its clownish charm.

Baskets is a good show and is VERY well cast. But this show is in many ways an acquired taste. This show isn't for people who love and just pay attention to Top 20 (ratings-wise) major network fare, it's not for people who don't like depth in their TV shows, and it's not for kids. I got to this show kind of late (Season 2), but that doesn't take away from the fact that I've enjoyed this show for six out of the last seven episodes of this season (I missed one episode which was "Bail" that aired on February 2, 2017).

Zach Galifianakis continues to grow as an actor and his role in Baskets is absolutely marvelous. It is also a major accomplishment how Louie Anderson makes a mother sound so funny even when they aren't supposed to be. But we could use some good news for once.
