The latest Irwin Allen disaster movie is When Time Ran Out, which is waxen even by Mr. Allen's standards.

What a silly movie this is. [11 Apr 1980, p.19]

With cheesy special effects (even the volcano isn't convincing, considering the film cost $20 million) and a hole-ridden script, this film offers precious little to like.

Amid all the tension, the volcano blows its stack. 'Is anything wrong?' someone asks. 'No, nothing's wrong' says someone else. Something is very wrong.

This film has everything that makes a disaster film as an actual film disaster. With unconvincing effects, bland performances and a convoluted story, When Time Ran Out… is a dud, critically and financially.
