A well-crooned country tune can invest even the hoariest cliches with honest feeling, and in much the same fashion, The Song takes a familiar tale of love, marriage, betrayal and redemption, and delivers a largely satisfying rendition.

At a certain point, however, I began to treat The Song as a kind of guilty pleasure, a not particularly good movie that nonetheless entertains in spite of itself.

This movie is the perfect love story! Based on the Song of Solomon, the movie stays true to the story. I appreciated the honest portrayal of the struggles married life can have. Must see! Own it because you'll want to watch again and again. The acting was really good and the music was great as well.

My husband and I went to see this movie over the weekend and we both loved it! It was so refreshing. Finally a movie with some Biblical basis! Not your everyday Sci-Fy or teeny-bopper apocalyptic film. A real-life, real problems, raw, clean, romantic, fun, heartbreaking and altogether charming movie. It gave me so much hope as we have only been married a little over a year and some of the conversations this couple had throughout, are arguments that we've hashed out as well. It is so uplifting to see that there is hope for us. I love it! Highly recommended. We need more movies like this!

The actors, none of whom have much experience, are quite convincing, but the story — Jed falls, then sees the error of his ways — is an oft-told one.

Striking nary an unfamiliar note, The Song sluggishly lurches towards its predictable conclusion — spoiler alert, Jed sees the error of his ways — but it does offer some pleasures along the way.

The thing is, the music that Jed, Shelby, and their respective bands make is actually pretty good. The performance footage is polished enough that it looks like it could be plucked from a TV show like "Nashville."

The melody may be as old as the Bible, but The Song could have benefited from a fresher voice.

As a musician I can relate to the struggles and temptations on the road. My wife and I found this movie very healing and an open door to talk about these real and raw issues. Take your spouse/significant other! You will be glad you did.

YES! A love story many can relate to. Powerful and emotional. The music especially was fantastic! Great date night movie that leaves you thinking and talking about the fragility of marriage. A+ Must See!

GO SEE IT!!! Real, raw, music driven drama that has some good twists and turns. I was a little leery going into it but it proved to be well worth it.

Weather "faith-based" or not, this movie moves you, the acting is great and emotional, and the music is really great! I loved it! It is much recommended!

Truly terrible film. A turgid story with dull acting and horrible singing. Evidently this is a Christian movie as there were interminable quotations from the Old Testament throughout, but Christianity can be fun, not dull like this awful film. Avoid
