On further inspection, they make a startling discovery -- the Abbey is built over the entrance to a giant underground cave system. It's increasingly hard to work up a fright on the screen these days, but even if The Cave doesn't exactly terrify, it's fun and looks great.

It's not original, but unlike some of this summer's movies (such as The Island and Stealth), The Cave knows its place. Its job is to deliver a few jolty thrills and a couple of laughs and wrap things up before it starts to get too dumb.

Es simple con su trama, pero la acción y el terror están muy bien presentes, la recomiendo.

Refreshing strokes of science-fact in the early sections give way to action strictly from the Ridley Scott-James Cameron playbook, but without a powerful helmer behind the camera or a memorable cast in front.
38
The screenplay is thin, the dialogue lacks nuance and the acting is often laughable.
30
A bottomless pit of lame characters, horror-film cliches and improbable monsters.
25
A cheesy, often unintentionally funny, direct-to-video-caliber knockoff of "Aliens" that couldn't be more shallow.

The Cave isn't just a bad movie, it's a very, very, very bad movie, so bad that it can't even redeem itself by turning into high camp.

Cave is a typical B-thriller with horror elements. The only difference is that the action of the film does not take place in any house, but in a cave in a remote place somewhere in the Carpathians. The theme of speleology is spread superficially, the film itself is not able to surprise not to scare the viewer. Despite the classic chronometers of 100 minutes, it is very stretched for the plot of the film. All the action could be said in the alterations of one hour, but this can no longer be shown in cinemas, so endure. The only thing that the viewer can really like is an open ending with an interesting ending. Otherwise, this is a regular passing B-film.

This film gives a good entertainment. However the whole story feels cheesy and kind of underdevelopped.

I didn't like how shaky and fast the editing was. I thought that it hid too much and made it hard to tell what was going on. The shakiness was distracting. Other than that I guess that it was fine. There was nothing too exciting to look at. The sound fields were creative and really well produced. I loved the use of the rear channels. Absolutely fantastic sound! This was just like Alien (1979) in a cave but without the suspense and awesomeness. I had no care for the characters or what was unfolding. It was made for teenagers and thusly the horror is non-existent in what should be a horror movie. It was more like an action movie but without all the cool guns and car chases and helicopters and stuff. Rather dull story and unoriginal shenanigans make this a very forgettable piece.

Pretty mediocre movie. Very similar concept to the movie 'The Descent' which released the same year, but is worse in almost every way compared to that film. Some of the monster attack scenes are so poorly filmed and edited it's hard to tell what is even happening. Lots of "shakey cam". The dialogue and characters are all pretty poorly written as well. I don't think it would be possible to find a more confrontational and ego tripping group of individuals to go on a spelunking expedition with. To it's credit it has some pretty decent actors in it, including Cole Hauser, Morris Chestnut, Daniel Dae Kim, and a pre-300 / pre-GOT Lena Headey. Despite it's flaws, which are plentiful, it was mildly entertaining at points. Some parts are so bad that they are actually kind of funny, so you'll get enjoyment in that respect as well. I guess watch it if you are still looking to fill that spelunking monster horror hole that 'The Descent' left in your life, if not probably skip it.

What’s with the jackasses giving this debacle a good score, then leaving nothing but shapes and symbols for the review? Humans are **** dumb. Here’s a 0 to average out the stupidity
