I liked The Amazing 1 even though it wasn't one of the best. I liked Lizard even though the acting wasn't the best. Garfield and Stone's acting was excellent. 7.5/10

Mükemmel bir film. Gelmiş geçmiş en güzel 2. Filmdir benim için. Andrew Garfield Spider-Man rolune çok uymuş. Film asla sıkmıyor. İlk çıktığında izliyordum. Hala izliyorum. Peter Parker ve Gwen Stacy arasındaki ilişki çok güzel işlenmiş.

Greetings from Lithuania. "The Amazing Spider-Man" (2012) is an excellent Spider Man film in my opinion. I liked all three Sam Raimi Spider Man films back in the day (with third one being a small exception), yet this Mark Webb's film in 2012 surprised me a lot. I thought it was very entertaining movie. While it didn't brought anything new to the table in terms of Spider Man or superhero movies in general, I still enjoyed it very much. The cast of this film is incredible. The two leading actors Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone had a terrific chemistry on screen - their chemistry is off the charts here. Supporting actors were great. At its running time 2 h 18 min this was a long film, but it never really dragged. Overall, the 2012's version, reboot of Spider Man was a really good one for me. I rewatched this movie during the years few times, and always had a good time with it.

My god how wrong I was about this chapter! I really didn't think this was going to land for me but I ended up loving absolutely EVERYTHING in this movie. The casting, the visuals, the plot and development . . . everything was absolutely spot on! They even tied into "What-if" issues of the Marvel comics! I couldn't have been more glued to this movie if I hadn't watched it multiple times like I obviously did! Fantastic movie and an Amazing Spider-Man!

A Fresh and Energetic Spidey Pair Grounded by Visual Spectacle but Weakened by an Underwhelming Villain.140425 (2.0)A distinctly different take on Spider-Man. An energetic young guy paired with Emma Stone as his girlfriend. Though it felt somewhat hectic, it was definitely visually entertaining. The artificial web-shooters felt disappointing; is it really not allowed to shoot organically from his body? The actor looks thoroughly like a studious nerd, so the casting felt decent, but please bring back MJ. The villain also had far too little impact—the Lizard, of all choices, haha. Directed by Marc Webb and starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, and Rhys Ifans, the 2012 reboot "The Amazing Spider-Man" restarts the superhero's origins, following high schooler Peter Parker as he uncovers clues about his parents' mysterious disappearance, leading him directly to Oscorp scientist Dr. Curt Connors, whose genetic experiments transform him into the reptilian threat known as the Lizard.

This movie was amazing! I don't get it why people hate it so much. Andrew Garfield is simply the best Spider-Man and Emma Stone killed it as Gwen Stacy.

I like how this movie handles Spider-Man. I can't really tell why, but I feel as if this version was a more realistic representation of the hero's backstory. The villain (while might not look the greatest) also has an understandable motive and is actually a big threat to Spidey. I might prefer this version, because it was the first adaptation I saw, but this whole film has a special atmosphere, being somewhat darker and more dramatic than previous or even later parts. The tension between the hero and the police is another interesting aspect that was new. I don't think it's the best Spider-Man movie, but there's much to love here.

The best Spider-Man in the cinema with a truly perfect pair of actors (who later became partners in real life), he was absolutely right in the part (certainly better than Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland) and she, what can I say....never looked so beautiful.

72-73/100 Story is there. The only cringe in the last minutes when they move cranes for Spiderman to fly easier, that was terribly cringe. Besides that surprisingly okay movie, bunch of jokes here and there help to keep you entertained.

The Amazing Spider-Man is a watchable movie, with a pretty good story, but terrible dialogues. The writing is very mixed. The themes are great, the story is intriguing enough, but the dialogues are terrible. It's enjoyable to watch the characters interact, but they are pretty one-dimensional. The directing is far from good, the cinematography is mixed. There are a few great shots, but most of them have no style, nothing in common. The editing is also mixed, because on the one hand it's hard to see what's happening in the fight scenes. On the other hand the pacing is quite good, it rarely feels flat or boring. The acting performances are just bad and that's definitely not only because of the actors. I love Andrew Garfield, but I didn't really enjoy him as Spider-Man. I liked him as Peter though. The Amazing Spider-Man can be enjoyable to watch, but I'm definitely not a fan of it.

Rewatching these movies to review them was so fun. First superhero movie I ever watched as a kid, so I have an extremely intense bias towards these. Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) was also my first celebrity crush out of these movies. Like every Spider-Man, Peter Parker is a high school student who faces all of the difficulties and awkwardness a normal high school kid faces, the difference is his complicated background and extremely odd and super-human abilities inherited from a genetically modified spider bite. The villain game is not great, and Andrew Garfield is often referred to as "too cool" to be Spider-Man. However, I think he does well. The Amazing Spider-Man is known to be the movie in which Spider-Man's combat is the most comic book accurate, and this is certainly true. Love these.

I appreciate the need to distance this franchise from the missteps of Spider-Man 3, to start from scratch with a villain besides the Green Goblin, and to get back to the character's roots as an awkward kid in an adult's costume, wise-cracking to mask his uncertainty. I even like the decision to tell a completely Mary Jane-free story, as I felt the old "girl next door is the only one for me" story was a path the Raimi films walked far too quickly. Despite those perfectly noble, admirable intentions, this reboot still doesn't click. In the ten years since the first Spider-Man, the landscape of the cinematic superhero has changed dramatically. The Avengers family has upped the action ante, while Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy has proven a hero's story can be about more than just spandex and a mask. With the glut of action heroes now on the scene, Peter Parker needed this chance to differentiate himself, but instead he's faded further into the wallpaper. Andrew Garfield turns in a laudable effort, but his renditions of Parker and Spider-Man are written to be so drastically different, it's often tough to imagine they're actually the same person. Martin Sheen is the film's only real standout as poor, ill-fated Uncle Ben, but that's a role so inherently sympathetic that it would take an unmitigated disaster to screw up. All things considered, The Amazing Spider-Man certainly isn't a bad effort; the cast is loyal to the source material while still feeling contemporary, the action scenes are breathtaking (if surprisingly infrequent) and enough leftovers remain on the table to feed several sequels. But multiple dull spots, a foil that seems too run-of-the-mill and a dearth of inconsistent characterization keeps it from being half as amazing as the title would have us believe.

The first-person shots of Spider-Man swinging around were cool, but the acting in this one is worse than the acting in the first trilogy. The villain also isn't very interesting.

Honestly, I didn't expect much from this movie. Because the previous trilogy was officially a masterpiece and only the last part failed. But it went beyond my expectations. To be fair, it's a good movie, but it has some small flaws. First: Spiderman's costume is one of the worst! Believe me, the handmade costume of the same work is much better, but this was bad in the sense of the word. Second: After the second half, all the characters find depth and get better, including Rajit Rata, who disappears completely. Third: The special effects for the lizard are not very strong. And his purpose for evil was a bit clichéd. But we can safely say that it was scary and created breathtaking battles. Fourth: The conclusion is not very strong. That is, Peter Parker, as a person who has responsibility and promised to draw a line around Gwen, will forget his promise and his responsibility! And this is really bad. The rest of the cases are in one word excellent. Andrew Garfield is really the best Spider-Man actor. Similarly, Emma Stone for Gwen Stacy. And their chemistry is also among the best. The action sequences are amazing and... did I miss something?

Great story seems more like a cyber punk version of spider Man. More edgy the the original. But still a great story. I think a twist from Spidey 3 with the black suit kind of way. If that makes any sense.

Probably the most underrated and darkest Spider Man movie of all time and it’s surprisingly entertaining enough because of a dark story, amazing pacing, and excellent writing.

Not the best Spider-Man movie, it seems to be a sort of half-remake of Raimi's first film, but it's well made.

This is like a made for kids made for TV movie. Nothing like the OG Spider-Man with Tobey Maguire. Got it for $5.99. Still not worth it at that price. A very unlikeable actor playing as Spider-Man. And Emma Stone is nothing to write home about either. Terrible movie not even worth a rental. We didn't even want to finish it. There was only one scene that was slightly watchable where "Spider-Man" was in the car about to be stolen. 1 scene out of the entire movie. They should never hire this actor again.

Andrew Garfield delivers one of the best portrayals of Spider-Man but not the best version of Peter Parker. Wasn’t the biggest fan of his shy-can’t finish words- lines but his intelligence, wit & charm worked well. Movie didn’t really flow at times & there are certain personalities and plot points I would have done differently. Fighting sequences are great, score is good, Gwen/Peter dynamic is iconic & Lizard is pretty decent as the villain.

The Amazing Spider-Man. He is new and modern. Andrew Garfield coped with the role of a spider. It does not look like a Tobey Maguire spider, and that's good. A more dynamic and more teenage film gave a great start for the new Spider-Man series.

That said though, from personal opinion The Amazing Spider-Man was not a bad film, or at least nowhere near as bad as has been said(again personal opinion), but it doesn't live up to its name. For me, the first two Sam Raimi Spider-Man films are better, and while Spider-Man did plod and had too many villains all but one of which were underused personally it wasn't that bad. The Amazing Spider-Man did have things to like, it is very stylishly made and has some very impressive special effects, even if the Lizard takes some getting used to. The action sequences- of which there are a lot in the second half- mostly are exciting with some cool stunts(the one exception is the climax which seemed like it was played and written too safe) and very creative use of Spider-Man's powers, and there are some parts in the story that work, the dynamic between Peter and Uncle Ben is really quite emotionally powerful, the romance between Peter and Gwen is somewhat sweet and the part where Spider-Man saves the little boy is tense and heart-felt. It was also very intriguing with the mystery of Peter's parents which was done quite well. The performances on the whole are also good, Sally Field and especially Martin Sheen are great as Aunt May and Uncle Ben, and Emma Stone is a charming and amusing Gwen. Rhys Ifans does bring some creepiness to Curt Connors/The Lizard if not the tragedy(the writing didn't help him though) and Denis Leary is delightful in how churlish he is. On the whole too there is some good chemistry between the actors. I never really warmed to Andrew Garfield though, he did seem too quirky for Peter complete with some forced humour and wasn't enough of a nerd, he wasn't a whole lot better as Spider-Man either, he had charisma but did come across as rather smug and not brooding enough for such a serious tone to the story here. Irrfan Kahn's performance and his character is little more than an extended cameo, not very much to work with and Kahn does little with it. The story does have its fair share of well-done moments but does suffer from an over-familiarity that feels like a more seriously toned rehash and uneven pacing, sluggish in the first half and while much better rushed in some of the second half. The script is never terrible nor is it ever exceptional, there are sweet and emotional moments as well as tense ones but too much of the humour is forced and it interferes with the serious tone. James Horner's score is nowhere near among his best, some of it pedestrian, some of it over-the-top, neither of which Danny Elfman's scoring had. And the film really rushed Connors'/Lizard's character arc, there was real potential for him to be a multi-layered character but here he came across as a one-dimensional villain with no real motivation. Overall, watchable but not close to being amazing. 5.5/10 Bethany Cox

This watchable, but ultimately misguided reboot of Spider-Man chooses to remake Sam Raimi's original film with the tone and style of Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins. However, Spider-Man is not Batman, and this more realistic, melodramatic tone clashes terribly when there's a giant green lizard-man on screen. Still, its two leads do share some strong chemistry, even if Andrew Garfield doesn't quite measure up as everyone's favorite friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
