Best action scenes I’ve seen in a while ! Much better than the last outing . No boring bits

As far as Tom-Spider-Man goes, this is a great fresh take on Spider-Man. After the soft reboot, they decide not to do the bigger stories but instead do grounded stories, and you can kind of see they struggle making them. Peter Parker, whom we see no longer has his Peter side, just his Spider-Man side, so he spends his day trying to do good. The visuals and story were not bad following the great fight and emotional deliverance, for instance, Peter's interaction with his friends. Nevertheless, the show undermines itself. This is MCU Spider-Man, so it can't really do things that Sam Raimi's Spider-Man does; for instance, they can't just have a fresh start; they need to relate to other MCU projects. It's not a great standalone film since you need to have context. Additionally, the introduction of multiple villains and characters just to have them appear briefly or have short interaction with Spider-Man is kind of unnecessary because they are just there for the sake of being there. Scorpion is just a messenger; Hulk helps him with the idea of Inhibitor and has a great fight, but then he is no longer useful like some npc. The Punisher becomes a completely different character. I'm not saying he needs to kill 24/7, but at least try to balance it. Other short-tease villains like Tarantula are just there. Overall it's not bad for the first soft reboot of Spider-Man. I wish he got venom already; I guess it's alright.

The punisher, the hulk, the hand, and other A listers, while never felt crammed in, i will say were not the ultimate reason why i loved this movie. It just straight up had heart. Great ride from start to end.

This is genuinely such an incredible film, with so much love, care, and passion baked into it, man. It hits on the emotional state Peter is in following NWH and it doesn’t let up at all. The action is very dynamic and awesome to watch. The way this movie looks is amazing especially Marvel’s NYC as it feels so lived in and alive. The performances in this film are what shine most about it, most notably Tom Holland’s acting as both Spider-Man and Peter Parker and Sadie Sink in her role. This film succeeds at just about everything it sets out to do and I can’t wait to see where Peter’s story goes next, what a wonderful film man (9/10).

Spider-Man: Brand New Day was amazing.While viewers may need to be familiar with other Marvel movies and shows to fully understand certain storylines—especially those involving the New Avengers —the film still works well as a continuation of the larger Marvel **** movie had a great balance of action and comedy, with plenty of entertaining moments throughout. The iconic wedding scene was especially enjoyable and felt like a sweet nod to Tom Holland and Zendaya’s real-life **** epic scenes involving the Hulk, Spider-Man, and the Punisher were standout moments. I also appreciated the references and recreations of memorable scenes from previous Spider-Man films, which added a nostalgic touch for longtime fans.Some scenes were emotional enough to leave you teary-eyed, making the film more than just an action-packed superhero movie.Overall, Spider-Man: Brand New Day delivered action, humor, nostalgia, and heartfelt moments. I would definitely recommend this movie for a watch.

Best Spiderman since Sam Ramie's Spiderman. I can't wait to see what they do with certain changes he goes through.

It was incredible one of a kind This film matured Tom Hollands iteration of the character than never before. It was genuinely amazing :)

Another tiresome superhero movie. Is there anything worse? Maybe the next Avengers movie.

Cons: I honestly do not have a lot of problems with this movie. If anything, I have a couple of nitpicks here and there, but that’s about it. First of all, there were a couple of instances throughout the movie where something major had happened, for example, when that guy got hit by a car or when Bruce Banner got taken away after hulking out that were just sort of glossed over. In other words, we have no idea what happened to the guy who got hit by the car or where Bruce Banner got taken away to, and Peter doesn’t seem overly concerned about what happened to them either, which just seems sort of out of character for him. Another issue I had with the movie was the practical swinging during the tank chase scene. I’m sorry, but contrary to popular belief, I thought it looked awful. When I first heard they were using practical swinging for some of the scenes, I got excited since Spidey swinging scenes have been lacking in the last couple of movies. However, in action it just looked awful, particularly during the tank chase scene. I don’t see a lot of people talking about this, and I think it has a lot to do with people’s weird dislike for Jon Watts (I myself loved his Spidey trilogy), and his criticism in the past of practical swinging. I hate to say it, guys, but I think Jon Watts had a point. The best swinging will still always be Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man in my opinion. Which brings me to my next complaint, the poor CGI. While a lot of this movie looked beautiful, there were still a good deal of scenes filled with tacky CGI. Hollywood as a whole really needs to address the poor CGI plaguing their movies. It’s embarrassing to watch old movies and visually see how much better their CGI is. Why are we going backwards when it comes to visual effects? We should be moving forwards. My next issue had to do with the fact that we never got to see how Peter met Frank Castle or got in touch with the New Avengers. Now, it was cool to start this movie essentially catching up with Spidey and seeing all that he has been up to in the last couple of years. However, it felt like we missed out on not being able to see his first encounter with the Punisher or his first time learning about the formation of the New Avengers. I would have at least liked to have witnessed one of those things, if not both. Finally, I would have liked Peter’s fight with the savage Hulk to have been slightly longer. I’m shocked it was as long as it was, and I’m grateful for that, but just a little longer would have been perfect, like in Age of Ultron where Hulk fought the Hulk Buster Iron Man suit. I say that should be the standard for how long a Hulk fight should be if it takes place in the middle of a movie. Pros: Wow, this movie was just visually stunning. The vibes were just immaculate as a result of this. I absolutely loved the color grading in this movie. I also loved the choice to make Peter be sort of the Iron Man figure in this movie in more ways than one. First of all, just like how Tony Stark was a mentor figure for Peter, Peter took on that role in this movie with Jean Grey, and it was just so sweet to see. On the other hand, Peter’s other parallel with Tony is a bit more dark. In the same way Tony had good intentions with creating Ultron, Peter had good intentions with making the universal inhibitor, and it will now likely be used moving forward in the future of the MCU as a weapon against mutants. It was just an absolutely insane choice to have Peter be the inventor of the universal inhibitor which will likely lead to much angst in Peter’s future as a result of this, and I can’t wait to see how he handles the fallout. Something else I liked about this movie was its unpredictability. This movie had multiple plot twists, but I have to say my favorite was when it was revealed that Jean was controlling MJ to make her kiss Peter. That was just such an angsty and intense scene that had my theater audience on the edge of their seats. Another thing I loved about this movie were the fights scenes of course. My favorite fight scene would have to be the one between Hulk, The Punisher, and Spider-Man. That clash of worlds within the MCU (Avenger, Spider-Man, and Defenders’ character) was something that I have been waiting for a long time, and to finally see it on the big screen was just such an incredible experience. And don’t even get me started on that one fantastic slow motion shot where Punisher is shooting at the Hulk while Peter is dragging him out of the way with his webs. I want a poster on my wall of that moment. Finally, one more thing I liked was how this movie did a great job balancing Peter’s civilian life with action sequences. A good Spider-Man movie has the right balance of emotional beats and action, and Brand New Day did this beautifully.

The movie is undeniably solid and enjoyable, but I didn't leave the cinema with that "mind-blowing" sensation or the epic impact left by milestone MCU events like Infinity War or Endgame.While the high average scores seem driven by immediate fan enthusiasm, a more grounded look reveals a film that excels emotionally while falling back on familiar formulas elsewhere. The highlight is clearly its heart: the core drive for reconciliation and Peter’s attempt to reconnect with MJ and Ned grounds the story in genuine humanity. Seeing his personal evolution—learning to stand on his own feet and master his abilities—is a great direction, even if I wished they had pushed those powers a bit deeper to make that growth feel truly triumphant.Where the film stumbles is in its action set-pieces and primary narrative structure. The fight scenes lack a real "wow" factor, and the plot leans into a well-worn Marvel trope where the actual villain is the person who initially seemed good. When you've seen this exact structure repeated over the years, it loses its ability to surprise, making the action feel somewhat mechanical despite the strong character **** is by no means a bad film—it easily earns more than a passing grade. It stands as a solid 7/10: an entertaining chapter that delivers wonderfully on Peter Parker's emotional journey, but ultimately lacks that extra punch of scale, innovation, and epic spectacle to make it truly memorable.

Lifelong Spidey fan here, going back to the Electric Company in the 70s (and of course the 67 cartoons in syndication). I like every Spider-Man movie, but obviously some are better than others, and this is a strong contender for the best one yet. That is especially refreshing and impressive for its being the fourth in the series. They managed to keep the scale big enough for people who want big Marvel movie action, but they also kept the tone and the emotional feel grounded in a Spider-Man world that fans have loved for decades. I enjoyed the previous one a lot, and of course it was a great time seeing all the different movie Spideys come together, but I think it was really important to step away from the Marvel Multiverse craziness this time and recapture so much that is classic about Stan Lee’s baby. Last thing: I love that the movie went through nice cycles of storytelling and action, led to a climax but didn’t lead to a MEGA-CLIMAX where the whole world was at stake or something, or a massive city-destroying battle. It was just more personal and relatable while still being exciting. Even superhero movies I really like tend to lose me with their big epic conclusions, but not this one.

I would classify this as a solid watch. Great acting, great score, great visuals. The overall message was relatable and emotionally heavy. I wish more Marvel Movies were low scale more relatable. Good job. I would say it’s more of an 8.5, but not a 9.

This is probably the goat spiderman movie and i cant believe im saying this as i've never really liked the mcu spiderman. nonetheless i'm happy for the quality of the movie and the fans of the series

One of the best Spider-Man films I've ever seen by far! Truly a comic-accurate portrayal and such a fun and nuanced story. I went in with low expectations but was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. :)

Ich habe mir diesen Film vor ungefähr drei Tagen im Kino angeschaut, wenn ich mich nicht irre, zusammen mit meinem Freund Yahya. Und ehrlich gesagt dachte ich, der Film würde mir nicht gefallen. Als ich den Trailer gesehen habe, hat mir der Trailer auch nicht besonders gefallen, die Erwartungen waren nicht besonders hoch. Und die vorherigen Teile dieses Films haben mir ehrlich gesagt auch nicht besonders gefallen. An diesen Schauspieler (Tom Holland )konnte ich mich generell auch nicht so richtig gewöhnen. Aber als ich den Film dann gesehen habe, war Humor drin, es gab richtig gute lustige Momente, es gab Drama – also alle wichtigen Gefühle, die man beim Schauen eines Spider-Man-Films spüren sollte, habe ich gespürt. Und dieser Film hat mich wirklich stark an die Spider-Man-Filme mit Tobey Maguire erinnert. Ich hatte wirklich das Gefühl, dass ich einen Film über Spider-Man schaue, über sein Leben, über sein Leid, seine Depression und all das. Genau das hat mir bei der Version mit Tom Holland lange Zeit gefehlt. Das habe ich jetzt bekommen, und mir hat der Film gefallen. Meinem Freund hat er auch gefallen. Wir haben den Film im Kino in Kronach geschaut. Was kann ich sagen – ja, ein cooler Film. Ich bin froh, dass ich hingegangen bin und ihn mir angeschaut habe. Alles in allem würde ich dem Film 8 Punkte geben, auf jeden Fall 8 Plus. Als ich den Film gesehen habe – er ging ungefähr zwei Stunden – dachte ich nach der ersten Stunde noch: Naja, bisher so 7 Punkte. Am Anfang war es auch schon gut, aber gegen Ende ist der Film bei mir auf 8 Punkte von 10 gestiegen. Das Finale war auch top, die lustigen Momente haben gepasst. Persönlich gebe ich dem Film 8 Plus von 10. Mir hat er richtig gut gefallen. Ich schließe auch nicht aus, dass ich ihn in Zukunft nochmal schaue – was ich bei den vorherigen Teilen übrigens überhaupt nicht gemacht habe, die haben mir einfach nicht gefallen. Auch der Film, in dem alle drei Spider-Men zusammenkommen, hat mir ehrlich gesagt nicht gefallen, ich war enttäuscht. Aber dieser Film hier ist besser als die letzten drei oder vier Spider-Man-Filme. Deshalb 8 Plus von 10.

'Brand New Day' lives its best moments when it focuses on the emotional and existential conflict that consumes the arachnid; in this sense, Zendaya and Tom Holland together become the heart of the film. But things don't work so much when a predictable plot about a conspiracy takes center stage. Nevertheless, this new installment manages to project a very comic vibe and even capture a part of the essence that characterized Sam Raimi's films.

Brand New Day is a bit of a mess. However! There are some really powerful moments throughout that resonated with me deeply in this season of life. And the visuals and action are off the charts.

**No Spoilers** Keeping the nostalgia aside, I genuinely feel that this isn't just a great Spider-Man or superhero movie, it's a great movie, period. This film doesn't rely on an earth **** threat or massive spectacle to make an impact. Instead, it succeeds because of its emotional depth, strong character growth, and its message of hope for a brighter tomorrow. It takes a lot of risks, and they pay off in a way I rarely feel a superhero movie has in recent years. From a character perspective, this is the best Spider Man development I have ever seen. Every emotional moment lands perfectly. I've always felt that Tom Holland was the weakest live-action Spider-Man compared to the others, but his performance in Brand New Day might just be my favorite portrayal of the character yet. Unlike the previous MCU Spider-Man films, this movie puts Spider-Man himself at the center of the story, and Tom Holland delivers from start to finish. It truly feels like the events of the last film have shaped Peter Parker, taking him from a young adult into adulthood. Holland captures that journey beautifully through his charm, awkwardness, vulnerability, and emotional maturity. I've loved Sadie Sink ever since she was introduced in Stranger Things. The character she plays in this movie happens to be “MY FAVORITE MARVEL CHARACTER OF ALL TIME” (and my second-favorite comic book character ever, after Batman). I won't say anything more to avoid spoilers, but she was fantastic, and I can't wait to see more of her in this role. The cinematography is a step up from the previous MCU Spider-Man movies, but the real unsung hero is the color grading. The colors, contrast, and overall visual presentation give the film a distinct visual identity that perfectly complements its tone and atmosphere. Finally, while I don't think the script or story is likely to win any Oscars, it's easily one of the strongest superhero screenplays in recent years. Compared to many recent superhero films, it feels far more focused, emotionally satisfying, and well written.

The film was a major disappointment. The uninspired story treads water and merely restates the obvious—that Peter misses his friends—overstuffed with unnecessary cameo characters purely for financial reasons. Furthermore, the main villain is a cliché, while the supporting villains are reduced to lifeless extras stripped of their narrative complexity. Ultimately, the plot ends up right back where No Way Home started. On the bright side, the cinematography, choreography, and CGI were well done.

Marvel Studios is back on top. Delivering the epic scale, emotional resonance and high-octane action (including some incredible slow-mo sequences) reminiscent of The Avengers, this film hits every mark. The new villain presents a formidable threat to Spidey alongside a fantastic surprise twist. Loaded with Easter eggs for comic book diehards and Insomniac game fans alike, its underlying message of embracing both your strengths and flaws adds real depth. 11 out of 10 and an absolute triumph for our favourite web-slinger!

could have gotten a 10/10 if it wasn't for underwhelming third act. chances are, you're gonna be slightly disappointed in your first watch, I implore you to rewatch it, as it gets better. there is a "Mephisto" level of let-down to certain sub-plots and ideas, like there is no connection to the larger MCU, which is not a bad thing, but, if you are an Internet sleuth like I am, you're gonna be disappointed. BUT, it gets better in the rewatch without the heavy expectations. Pls rewatch it. the biggest problem with this movie is that the villain ends up being 2-dimensional, which could work for a large-scale story like the first Avengers movie. However, for a small-scale story, the villain should be multi-faceted, like I dont think the villain in this movie had something unique. Look at Homecoming, it is a small-scale story, However Michael Keaton's Vulture is so good, he is a leader who cares about his employees and sub-ordinates, but he is also opportunistic ,like he looks at alien tech and immediately thinks about crime,he often pounces at any chance he could use. He is idealistic, like he has a lot of opinions of the world he lives in, he hates Tony Stark and Avengers and thinks of himself as an ordinary man's frustration towards the world and society. He is also funny , like he keeps referring to Peter as "Pedro". He is scary, like Peter gets his ass kicked by him. He is also a good father. He is calculative and manipulative. but most importantly, he is petty in a very subtle way. like that's what makes Homecoming feel like a movie and not like an episode. The villain in this movie has a lot of aura, but definitely isnt multi-faceted. This is a very character-focused movie so it sticks out when one of the main driving forces of the story has 2-dimensional motivations and doesn't have many traits. Makes it feel like a Video-game side quest after the main plot has ended. However, the actor playing the villain character is reallyyy good. The movie is focused on certain themes, that clearly deserved more screentime. I would prefer a 3hr version of this movie adding some extra layers. like, I'm not joking , we are sub-conciously programmed to recognise when the first two-acts of the movie are great, like genuinely. The first 1hr and 45 min is probably the best spidey story out there. The last act kind of rushed it. There sshould have been more emphasis on the DODC, they feel like NPCs in this movie. remember in The first Avengers movie whenn Nick Fury was secretly working on weaponising the Tesseract behind the Avengers' back, and how the revelation felt like a huge betrayal almost. There is something very similar in this movie, but its given no weight, it feels like an inconvinience. Its obvious that the movie is trying to adapt the prejudices of the government against super-powered individuals like shown in Daredevil,Wonderman and X-men. Yet, the weight and animosity isnt there. Its the main theme of this movie. The villain is rebellious to the authoritarian agency that is opressive. Spidey is caught in the cross-fire, that he feels different due to his spider-puberty whilst agreeing with the villain. all the side characters are set-up perfectly that feel in line of being yourself, like Hulk who is adamant against expressing himself and The Punisher who is adamant about doing things their way. It was perfect. Yet, Spider-man feels like his conflict just wafts up into the air, whereas I expected he was going to make another difficult decision, which would have been wayy better. like this needs a sequel or a longer edition for sure. but the best part of this movie and any spider-man movie is how spiderman defeats the villain in this movie. It is definitely the highlight of spiderman as a character. This was a great movie go watch it.

The film starts off with Peter‘s life as Spider-Man and how it’s going well, however, his life is Peter may not be the best. Everybody has forgotten who he is, and his relationship with The Punisher is awesome. As the film goes o, Peter’s powers begin to evolve which is really what makes the film for me. Loved it

When I watch a movie, I expect to be entertained, enlightened and/or informed (not necessarily in that order or all at once). But what I don’t want is to be treated like a marketing prospect. And that, unfortunately, is one of the problems with many of the releases in the Marvel Universe, including this latest installment in the Spider-Man franchise. Given the studio’s intricate web of properties (no pun intended) in this overlapping assortment of superhero franchises, there are considerable character and storyline cross-overs in virtually all of its film projects. Now, because of that, some cross-pollination of the narratives is bound to occur. But, when this practice becomes a key element in developing the plots of these offerings, it begins to feel more like marketing manipulation than bona fide storytelling, as is the case here. I don’t particularly appreciate using existing efforts to purposely promote upcoming productions. It tends to make these movies somewhat formulaic and cookie-cutter in nature. And, even though that’s not carried to an extreme in this release, it’s present nevertheless, no matter how much director Destin Daniel Cretton may try to enliven whatever other distinguishing characteristics might have been incorporated into the script. In essence, the film continues the current Spider-Man mythology with protagonist Peter Parker (Tom Holland) working largely as a solo undercover crimefighter in New York going after bad guys in a world where he and his past accomplishments have been intentionally forgotten as part of a selfless protective initiative. Only he retains recollection of what came before, leaving him alone where this knowledge is concerned, since old colleagues, including his onetime love interest, M.J. (Zendaya), retain no personal memory of him. It causes him a certain sense of emotional weariness, but it’s also something that he doesn’t have the luxury of time to focus on, given his workload and the fact that he’s going through transformations of his own while battling a menacing new nemesis (Sadie Sink). True, he secures some assistance from past superhero kindreds (Mark Ruffalo, Florence Pugh), but they don’t remember him either, compromising their effectiveness. Can he overcome all of these challenges? That’s a question as much for viewers as it is for Spidey himself, given that, in telling this story, multiple narrative threads are introduced (and not especially clearly), a problem that plagues the flow of the material in the opening half. This could potentially hamper viewer understanding until the picture’s back end, when it finally finds a firmer footing to tell its tale (even if some of it isn’t always adequately explained). Judicious editing may have helped here, but then that may have meant trimming some of the marketing material for future releases (and we can’t have that now, can we?). In short, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is probably best seen as a mediocre Marvel offering that features some modestly entertaining enhanced character development but that nevertheless covers a lot of action-adventure ground we’ve already seen before in countless other studio releases and that could certainly use some shrewd pruning of its overlong 200 runtime, too. Diehard fans of the franchise will no doubt love this (or virtually anything else that Marvel chooses to put up on the screen) no matter what, but I can’t help but take issue with that assessment. After all, there’s quite an undeniable irony here in the bold wording of the film’s title, which would seem to promise something new but doesn’t follow through on that pledge as well as it might have.

Spiderman: Brand New Day (12A) is the fourth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) franchise about this superhero. Having not watched any of the previous films, (the last Spiderman I saw starred Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst), I had some catching up to do, though it wasn't hard to pick up the gist of the story. Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker, although no one knows who he really is, so Spiderman is fighting crime in New York alone, with no personal support network once he takes off the mask. His former girlfriend MJ (Zendaya) and former best friend Ned (Jacob Batalon) are unaware of his true identity. Ned is obsessed with Spiderman but is unaware of his past association with him. The status quo changes when a mind possessing entity controlling people and making them act without them being aware, starts causing mayhem in the city. This unidentified foe is trying to break into the Department of Danger Control (DoDC), to access data but its director Bill Metzger (Tramell Tillman) knows nothing of the project being sought. The only person immune to mental invasion is Spiderman. However his spider DNA appears to have been triggered into a metabolic change which is physically altering his body and causing headaches, so he no longer needs hi-tec web projectors but can produce the strands from his own wrists. His personality is changing too, anger leading him into violence he finds hard to control. Isolation and loneliness may be responsible for accelerating these changes in Peter who still cares deeply about MJ and attends her and Ned's house-warming party as a neighbour, 'Maynard'. He is able to talk to both Ned and MJ but can't tell her how he feels and also finds she has a boyfriend. Peter leaves but finds that the entity has found out his secret by breaking into his apartment and reading a letter intended for MJ putting her in danger. There is lots of **** swinging action as you might expect and plenty of set pieces where Spidey is pitted against the Scorpion and his 'frenemy' Frank Castle to name but two. Other well known Marvel characters also appear. The struggle against the entity causes Parker to make some difficult choices as to where his loyalties lie. Controlling his spider-self and his personal desire for reconnection with MJ are two barriers he must confront if he is to defeat the latest threat to New York. I enjoyed this film and although it is over two hours it didn't drag. Unusually for me I could follow what was happening as the techno mumbo-jumbo was pitched at a level I understood. If you are a fan of the franchise you don't need any encouragement to go but for the rest of us, this film works as a standalone and not having seen its predecessor isn't a handicap.

Big action, exciting set pieces, and stunning visuals make this an easy recommendation for a summer movie night. The story keeps things moving, the dialogue is sharp, and the cast delivers exactly what you'd want from a blockbuster. It's almost impossible not to get caught up in the excitement, especially if you see it during opening week with a theater full of Spider-Man fans cheering at every big **** only thing holding it back is how familiar it all feels. While it's undeniably entertaining, it rarely steps outside the superhero playbook. The movie follows a formula we've seen many times before, and I was hoping for something a little bolder or more surprising. It does what it sets out to do very well, but it never quite spins a new web.

Honestly the best super hero movie that’s come out in years. Emotional, funny, action packed. Well done

Brand new day was a good film. Good story with maybe some holes regarding a character. That said, a lot of nice actions with perfect CGI. Good drama moments. Although the acting was unequal. I feel like watching the last movie of Spiderman, is a must, in my opinion. I give it 80%. A good drama and hero action flick with some notable performances.

For me the time has come to pass the long held torch of the classic Sam Raimi Spiderman films a generation ago to today's iteration of the iconic friendly neighborhood superhero. My youth of 25 years ago being wowed by what Raimi brought to the screen that was thought impossible with the perfect acting performance for Spiderman/Peter Parker in the shape and talent of Tobey Maguire that I didn't think would ever be matched never mind beaten. Step forward then Tom Holland that has now played this beloved American hero for 10+ years and counting compared to Maguire's glorious 5 years behind the mask. The MCU's latest offering using Sony's greatest screen hero is "Brand New Day" and it's fair to say after watching it, it's right up there sitting next to Spiderman 2 (2004) and No Way Home (2021) as the all time best entries in the long running series. The story picks up 4 years later in Peter's life living a nomad existence after the shocking events in (NWH) and slowly has to reconnect with society as Peter while the public at large have been in love with Spidey's heroic exploits for years now. The usual 2 main characters of MJ and Ned are here to complete that triumvirate where most of the film's emotional core resides as we see Peter struggle to accept his two closest allies and friends since high school have moved on with their lives now they're finishing up with college. The film also brings in plenty of new actors/characters to the mix that are either friend or foe and it's joyous to see the film weave all these plots in and out of one another with skill of the craft of complex comic book screenplay writing. Some characters I reckon non-fans of the comics won't know who they are but it doesn't distract from the plot in anyway. Other new characters are in the MCU world building now through this film for the long term and I think all of them worked. The action set pieces are top tier from what has to be a massive production budget, the special effects are what you'd expect from these types of blockbuster films, outstanding technical achievements that no doubt will earn Oscar nominations. It's got brilliant moments of levity to be found but it doesn't take away from the harder hitting emotions between these mainstay characters when the superhero duties needs to give way to something far more important, being a human being and grounded. The film is 2 1/2 hours long and thankful doesn't feel like it, I think the filmmakers got the timing and pacing spot on. The direction is snappy, colorful and spectacular to look at on the big screen. This is Tom Holland's best performance as Spiderman and actually for me, it's his best film performance of anything he's been in. We already saw a fair chunk of it in (NWH), but now 5 years on and Holland has definitely matured into a very decent actor with that useful ability to play college age roles even if he's now 30 years old. With both The Odyssey and Brand New Day now out this summer, this most be Holland's best year so far as a major A-list actor, he deserves the plaudits and Spiderman Brand New Day gets a solid 10/10 from me, just like The Odyssey did.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day understands both Spider-Man and Peter Parker, just as Superman (2025) understood both the hero and the hope that defines Superman. It reminds me of how Bill described these characters in Kill Bill: “Spider-Man is actually Peter Parker. When that character wakes up in the morning, he’s Peter Parker. He has to put on a costume to become Spider-Man.” “What Kent wears - the glasses, the business suit - that’s the costume. That’s the costume Superman wears to blend in with us.” That’s exactly what Spider-Man: Brand New Day understands. Peter Parker comes first. Before he puts on the mask, he’s a young man carrying the weight of loss, loneliness, responsibility, and all the everyday struggles of ordinary life. That’s what has always sat at the heart of my love for Spider-Man. Spider-Man: Brand New Day made me laugh, broke my heart, and filled me with joy and childlike wonder all over again. As a little boy, for many years I loved Batman, Spider-Man and Superman… in that order. So Spidey will always have a special place in my heart, and I left the cinema feeling like I’d stepped back into the 70s and 80s. The film captures the spirit of those early Spider-Man comics beautifully. Wow… that opening montage of our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man put the biggest smile on my face. I also love The Punisher. Frank Castle ticks a lot of boxes when it comes to my sense of justice, and I’ve always appreciated that he’s willing to go further with criminals and the corrupt than most heroes would. For the most part, Frank works extremely well in this film, and Jon Bernthal manages to bring the character from R-rated territory into PG-13 territory without losing what makes Frank, Frank. The movie looks stunning, with cinematography and visual effects that are top-tier. The web-swinging is absolutely breathtaking, and Michael Giacchino’s score beautifully complements the film’s slightly more mature tone. Tom Holland and Zendaya are superb throughout, and their real-life chemistry naturally shines through in their performances. To say much more would spoil the experience. For me, this is a 9/10, damn good time at the movies with our beloved Web-Head. My Spidey sense was tingling throughout. More than anything, Spider-Man: Brand New Day remembers that beneath the mask is Peter Parker, and that’s exactly why it works so well. Last year, Superman (2025) reminded me why I fell in love with the Man of Steel. This year, Spider-Man: Brand New Day reminded me why Peter Parker has always had a place in my heart. As that little boy who grew up loving Batman, Spider-Man and Superman, it’s been a joy to spend these past two years seeing my childhood heroes leap from the pages of comic books and onto the big screen once again. And somehow, all these years later, I’m getting to experience them again in reverse. Superman brought back the hope. Spider-Man brought back the heart. Batman will bring back the resolve. Next it’s time for The Dark Knight Detective… the comic book hero who first captured that little boy’s imagination. A man who turned his deepest scars into an unbreakable resolve - giving him the power to endure, the strength to fight, and the will to protect the innocent. Bring on The Batman Part II.

This is the first Tom Holland Spider-Man movie where we see him as an actual friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, and Peter being more mature, especially after everything that happened in No Way Home and Aunt May.
