By no means the disaster many might have expected following its years-long delay. You’ll like it. Not a lot, but you’ll like it.

Yes it was lacking some character development and a few other things but this version brings a different take on an already fleshed out story. This movie leans more into the spooky aesthetics and scares than the original TV series turned movie. A fine addition to the now trio of book, tv series and movie. I highly recommend it to anyone as a good old horror movie. Too many movies rely purely on jumpscares, this movie has a nice mix of atmosphere, tension and scares. Better than most horror films I've seen over the past couple years.

Salem's Lot is exactly the kind of brilliant horror film I’ve been looking for. It doesn’t treat its audience like fools; the characters are aware of horror films, they know what’s going on, yet they are still hunted by a more powerful entity. This is how horrors should be.

Dauberman's film is competent enough that I think it will manage to find an audience who's into an overly traditional take on vampire lore, as well as win over King fans who have been onboard with this tale, in all its incarnations, since day one.

Like a human turned into a creature of the night, Salem’s Lot kicks off with a strong sense of identity that slowly gives way to mindless vampire nonsense.

A fresh Stephen King adaptation should be exciting. It’s a shame, then, that Salem’s Lot – a small-town vampire chiller set in 1970s Maine – has absolutely zero new ideas or even a particularly frightening take on the old story.

The breathtaking visuals and bloody scares are not enough to bring this adaptation back from the dead.

Salem’s Lot isn’t a disaster (far worse horror films have made plenty of money at the box office), but a bloodless and frail version of the story drained of its vitality.

Better than what the reviewers said, this adaptation is cut to the bone so to speak, as it is done for under two hours. Nevertheless, what a thrill ride it is, well cast and paced, and probably one of the better horror outings out there. Don't miss it.

Salems lot was a good movie for the vampire universe. I like the plot of the story and the great acting even by the younger actors. The movie also has a fantastic cast. I wouldn’t necessarily say the movie was scary from my perspective . I would recommend this movie.

The story is a typical vampire tale with clichéd plots and a side character that feels underdeveloped.

It's just extremely directionless, the streaming era polish on the period piece gives it a very clean and saturated look (bad). As far as i could tell there were no themes and no arcs for any of the characters.

This Stephen King classic has been revived once again. Lewis Pullman plays a writer who returns to the titular town, where he was a boy. Thanks to the newly arrived ****, he witnesses the slow conversion of the town into vampires. The only cool aspect is that children are involved. Although there are 1 or 2 jumps, there's not much about the story or scares that's especially original or worth revisiting.
