A fun and hilarious sequel to the first one, bringing back a bunch of characters. The first one is still better.

IN A NUTSHELL: This is the sequel to Adam Sandler’s Netflix movie Murder Mystery. The story picks up where the first one left off. Now, husband wife (Nick and Audrey) are full-time detectives, struggling to get their private-eye agency off the ground. They end up right in the middle of an international scandal when their rich friend, Maharaja, is kidnapped at his own lavish wedding. The film was written by James Vanderbilt, and directed by Jeremy Garelick. It’s meant to be a goofy spoof of more serious movies with action and drama. It’s silly and fun to watch, although instantly forgettable. THINGS I LIKED: Congratulations to Adam Sandler for already being nominated for “Best Comedic Performance” by MTV + TV Award. We’re all wondering when Jennifer Aniston is going to age like the rest of us. She looks great and helped produce the film. This is the third movie she and Adam Sandler have made together. Their first movie was Just Go With It in 2011. I love it when serious action stars like Mark Strong can poke fun at themselves. The cast looks like they’re having a good time, which makes the audience have a good time. The rest of the cast includes Adeel Akhtar, Tony Goldwyn, Melanie Laurent, Jodie Turner-Smith, and John Kani. Lots of comedy and action. We get to go to beautiful locations like Paris and India. I’m going to Paris this summer and taking a lock with me to hang from the same bridge of lovers that we see in the movie! There are a few twists and turns that keep you guessing Whodunnit. THINGS I DIDN’T LIKE: Like all Adam Sandler movies, there is some unnecessary crude humor. It’s not the most clever murder mystery you’ve ever seen, especially because the person doesn’t get murdered, but just kidnapped. Everything is over-the-top, but it’s meant to be that way. The plot has some serious holes, but who cares, right? The movie is just meant to make us laugh for a little while. Mission accomplished: I was entertained. TIPS FOR PARENTS: People are in perilous situations. People die. Lots of destruction and crashes. Guns and knives. Violence

I thought it was decent. Maybe a bit predictable compared to first one and some repeated jokes, but overall I enjoyed watching it, even though of course not the greatest movie you can expect, but a nice popcorn flick.

Good entertainment.

Um filme onde absolutamente tudo é possível, as amis estapafúrdias reviravoltas em torno de um mistério de assassinato, de modo que o que resta é apegar-se à comédia ou qualquer outro traço que demonstre um ar de criatividade mais vital. E não é que o Sandler se sai muito bem? Mais maduro, ele tem o tempo certo das piadas. A química com a Aniston também está fantástica, então o filme se reduz a mostrar o talento e carisma dos atoes, aposta nisso e não tem como dar errado. Até mesmo as locações em Paris ou qualquer outra paisagem parecem frágeis frente ao brilho dos dois. No mais, é tudo muito constrangedor acompanhar certas reviravoltas, que sinceramente não precisavam, estão mesmo para tentar dar um respiro a um filme muito tolo. Não há tensão, e as cenas de ação são fracas. Assim, vá com a intenção de ver um bom casal em cena e rir de piadas superficiais e meio nonsense, que aí o resultado dá certo. Acredito que não tem fôlego para uma trilogia, mas da Netflix é possível esperar tudo, não é mesmo?

Really disappointing. First one was a decent guilty pleasure, no Oscar winner, but at least it was fun romp. Trying to up the stakes in the sequel is a recipe for disaster, everyone comes off way more unlikeable, especially the returning side characters. Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler still have chemistry, but that's about it.

Whatever. Boring as hell. Unfunny. What more would you expect from the "long awaited sequel" of the hit Adam Sandler movie, Murder Mystery. Adam, I liked Punch-Drunk Love. I liked Uncut Gems. Keep. Doing. Those. Please!

I've had a bit of a love hate relationship with Sandler over the years. Back in the 90s his brand of comedy worked well enough but over the years his man child character wore thin. What I once found funny became amusing and then just grating. But he's still done a few decent movies scattered in there over the years. The first Murder Mystery wasn't great but it also wasn't terrible. I mean I wouldn't watch it again but it was ok to pass 90 minutes. It's no masterpiece but it's better than most of his other movies. And Murder Mystery 2 isn't really terrible. It's a "pass the time" movie. Not better or worse than the first. Just more of the same. And that's why it gets the low rating. They took the first script and changed a few details. This is basically the first movie with a different crime and locations. It's lazy.

Final Thoughts: Rare for a schlocky comedy, Murder Mystery 2 rips out what held its predecessor back and smooths over the cracks with a slick, hilarious dramedy that wastes no time. Surprisingly sharp, Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston return as the Spitzes, sporting more confident chemistry and more confident performances. Joining them is better pacing which is bolstered by nicely directed action. Really bad an incoherent, the plot and mystery is below any sort of acceptable level. What is this a straight on action movie for and why is Adam Sandler fighting like John Wick?

Despite couple or more fun and funny scene, Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston fun chemistry present, and not so bad CGI, Murder Mystery 2 was basically the same like the first one, the differences was that the characters are less fun, less well written, and the story was less great, especially with all the silly, non sense, and unexciting twist, i'm glad to actually rewatch the first one again and really realising how really good the first one was, it was one of the most well produced Sandler's Netflix film, Murder Mystery 2 was again compare to the first one less well produced, and it felt like a typical Adam Sandler comedy mystery film instead of a just a comedy mystery film, anyway, again there is still fun in it, mostly still quite entertaining, wasn't garbage, but it still not a really good sequel too.

The first one was better. This one is entertaining but a bit too confusing. But I still enjoyed watching it! It's not bad, it's just not very good or clever either. It's mostly about a lot of slapstick humor between the characters. And that's why it's entertaining. The plot itself is hard to follow.

Underwhelming, nonsensical, incohesive, unexciting load of absurdity. With every passing minute you catch yourself thinking, 'Why on earth would Aniston and Sandler agree to keep this trainwreck of a sequel going? what was the reason??'. Not to be rude, but it is just bad. Straight up bad.

This is a very cool movie!!! Just like the first one. Watch it. It's very funny. Don't understand the criticism

I really enjoyed the first one and was eagerly waiting for this one to come out but sadly, it did not have the charm of the first one at all. Actually, the same schtick got very annoying and irritating as the movie progressed (i.e., the bickering and how Adam Sandler can't shoot worth a s***.) I'd say skip it, but if you're like me and you loved the first one, I'm sure you will watch it anyway. :-)

Don’t get me wrong, there are laughs to be had, but they are all cheap, one-off jokes. It pairs the ancient whodunnit plot with the ancient one-joke of ordinary people stumbling across extraordinary situations.

One of the worst kinds of movies molded for streaming. The kind that's just made to be background noise. I don't want to sound condescending but it's just that both films, this one and its predecessor are mere vehicles for Adam Sandler's effortless comedy. And it's that when he throws himself into these types of projects is when he stops being a humorous actor and borders on the line that makes him a buffoon. It's the lame comedy that depends on the familiarity the audience has with its actors and their jokes to work properly. Give this same awful story to better but unknown actors and you wouldn't even hear about it. That's how disposable Murder Mystery 1 and 2 are.
