Assisti pela primeira vez nesse relançamento no cinema e confesso que não gostei muito do filme. Tive a impressão de uma tentativa exagerada em confundir, não fazer sentido, esconder ao máximo as respostas, mesmo no final onde "tudo se explica" fica complicado de entender. Gostei da vibe de mistério e trilha sonora, mas me incomodou bastante as várias histórias aparentemente sem conexão.

What a steaming pile…it takes itself so seriously but it’s seriously a steaming pile of crap wrapped in a lace table cloth. Looks pretty but nothing good can come of it if you unravel it. The dialogue is horrid I keep expecting Tommy Wiseau to pop out of somewhere and deliver a “Oh Hi Mark”. The score is overpowering to the movie and detracts from whatsgoing on in the scene, it doesn’t matter which scene, the score is always too loud and intrusive. It truly is one of the most overrated films I’ve ever been subjected to watching. From the creepy old people at the airport who have a maniacal grin to the horribly written dialogue to the crappy acting on the part of Naomi Watts. The only semblance of a ray of sunshine is Justin Theroux & Robert Forster. The rest , please save me from this dreadful movie.

What the heck did I even watch? That’s beside the point. I absolutely adored this movie. The themes of this movie really resonate with me because the theme of this movie reflects the same belief I have about Hollywood, where people’s dreams, talent, and creativity are often destroyed by a system driven by profit. That’s my biggest gripe with Hollywood is that it prioritizes profit over artistic integrity. The focus is often on the money rather than allowing filmmakers the creative freedom to shape their vision and direction. That’s why the movie’s theme connected with me and a huge reason why I love this film. Beyond just the theme, there are many other things that make this film so great. The story is mind-bending, complex, and brilliant. The writing is great and really helps everything come together. The performances were great, especially from Billy Ray Cyrus, Naomi Watts, Laura Harring, and Justin Theroux. This movie feels very dreamlike, which is a main characteristic of David Lynch’s films. It’s confusing, but the mystery keeps you hooked. David Lynch leaves a lot open to your own interpretation. It doesn’t really tell a very cohesive story, but it presents concepts that allow you to make your own conclusions, which I think is super artistic and cool. It’s hard to put into words why I love this movie so much, but I really do.

I’m still not convinced everything quite adds up, but Mulholland Drive’s constant twists and turns certainly kept me glued to the screen for it’s entire two and a half hour run time.

As a collection of weird, intense vignettes, this is hard to top. But it has comprehensibility issues. The plot grabs one at first, and then takes a turn for the surreal. The "it was all a dream/fantasy" explanation appears to be the most popular one, but who knows? It contains some of Lynch's most striking images and memorable characters, and that is saying a lot. I read a long time ago that many more scenes were filmed than appear in this version, and that it was originally meant to be a televisions series, like Twin Peaks. I don't know how true that is, but I would like to see more of this if it exists. Maybe someday. I would also like to register my disappointment that Lynch mostly stopped making feature films after this, with the exception of the thoroughly loony Inland Empire.

One of the most overrated films ever made, playing out like an amateur elementary school story where the payoff seems laughable. A "one joke" film, where the sum of its parts go nowhere. Style over substance at its absolute worst.

Watching Mulholland Drive is like being stucked in a neverending oniric realm where you cannot recognize if you are living in a dream or in a nightmare. I think it's Lynch at his best. The movie's aesthetic is unmistakable: it's directed by david.

A masterclass in epic storytelling done in a non-linear fashion. Creepy, heartbreaking, subliminal, surreal. Pretentious, **** still brilliant and that's what makes films like these so great!

David Lynch made a dope, crazy, thought provoking piece and and I really enjoyed it. I thought it was solid from front to back. I believe the composer who did Twin Peaks also did this one and it really stood out to me as the highlight of this film.

+Fantastic cast +Some arresting cinematography (at times) +Interesting soundscape -If you're here for a screenplay that is intelligible, please walk away now -Frankly abusive LFE channel in surround mix -Absolute abuse of the extreme close up tight camera shot MD is an at times fascinating piece of filmwork like a visual poem with some high quality stylistic choices resulting (when at its best) in evocative moments with some of these provocative highs and lows providing a dream like quality. In almost the same moment this can quickly becomes cheap provocation for its own sake falling into a lo fi style of experimental ****. Overall i felt like there could've been something much better than what we got if the project focused under a lense that wasnt so abstract. For a film shot in the late 90's it has aged terribly. Overall it is clear this was an artist's mad dream laid bare to experience so if thats your jam - you will LOVE this.

It's still less weird than Lynch Eraserhead but it's definitely and simply a better movie than Eraserhead, Mulholland Drive is one of those movie that seems and feel complicated while we are watching it, but when you get the answer, it's so simple and it's easy, this is a movie that you need to watch again after you know what is really happening, Lynch is a master of mind, master of dream, and Mulholland Drive is the prove.

I've never seen such a movie like this. This is a completely different level of cinema.

Mulholland Drive is a simple suspense story which is shown in different way. Director used a few cheap thrill tricks to make the story confusing and the tricks worked. I am still trying to figure the climax and will probably have to see it again to catch things I missed and which may help me understand it better. It is a very detailed plot that very slowly comes together. Editing work was great, jumping back and forth between scenes was done properly. Combined with smart use of music and sounds, it all helps to build suspense in our minds. This movie demands alot of patience as you are seeing 2hr 30min dead serious drama. This is where main problem lies. Movie is so slow paced with dead serious plot and you might start getting frustrated and may loose patience. Overall, it is movie which everyone might not love watching. Some will love it, some will hate it. This movie demands audience which love dead serious crap.

The movie is a bit too long in the beginning and in the middle. The 3rd part is better, because you are thinking all the time what makes sense and is the reality. Some scenes are perfect, especially when music is dominating, but some scenes are too long.

Not an easy film to understand, but if you do, it is a trully incredible experience.

I watched it a pair of months ago and I still can't describe how I feel about this movie. Its practicably ineffable and thats what makes it a great movie.

I still consider this a masterpiece. There are few movies in its class - those that attempt to recreate an unconscious mind into human action. Almost impossible to do without all the telling or obvious pointing (i.e., soul). This is art for those who get it. Sorry to those who don't, it will make no sense.

A hypnotizing and captivating tale about the beauty of dreams and the ugliness of reality. Naomi Watts is incredible and David Lynch's direction...well, let's just that if you're a fan of Lynch like me, you don't need me to tell you how good it is. This is a masterpiece. Also, the scene when the singer sings "Llorando" is pure perfection. Such an emotioanl experience.

one of my lynch favorites. its negotiabley understandable and based on a lot of freudian studies. it is a movie that lives with you your whole life, making you think more about whats real and whats not.

I love David Lynch's work, and Mulholland Dr is also a very unusual film. He makes you smell the film as a kind of experience that every viewer experiences in his own way. In Mulholland Dr, the plot makes you follow the slightest details and completely flips the course of the audience's thoughts with its last 20-30 minutes. One of the best films of the 21st century.

I refuse to even call this a movie. I think this is trying to be some sort of over the edge art thingy. I felt like i was high or something. I wish i was, cause then this had probably been awesome "movie".

Mulholland Drive manages to hit all the right vibes when it comes to a surreal story with an eerie setting. From the moment the film begins, you can tell that all is not as it seems.

I'd like to write a review of this movie, but mr. Ebert over there in the left hand column really did it rather well.

Actors (principally the beauty Naomi Watts) are incredibly playing their characters and the way that the film's points are linked are incredible even for a mindbender. The most complex and the most sublime portrait of dreams and cinema. A woman enclosed by her dreams due to the alienating nature of human life. A woman who seeks an exit from her reality through the labyrinths of the mind. A masterpiece.

David Lynch brings all his surreal qualities together for, what else, an unintelligibly brilliant masterpiece. David Lynch is a madman, and he has been for the last 40 years or so. We were first introduced to his "style" with 1977's Eraserhead - a film that remains shocking to this day and quickly cemented Lynch as one of the 20th century's prominent surrealists. This was followed by the more accessible The Elephant Man, although still fairly surreal, and a number of movies that ranged from absolute **** (Dune) to absolute classics (Blue Velvet). Of all of his films, however, there is none quite like Mulholland Drive. To describe the film is an arduous task that would ruin the experience, and to summarise it would be an injustice. To put it as simply as possible, Mulholland Drive is a film about the search for meaning. A theme that is quite meta, since we as the audience also try to find the true meaning behind the film; scenes that lead to nowhere, absurdly comic moments that have no relevance, a list of questions that Lynch insists are important to "unlocking the secret" - or is this just misdirection on his part? Mulholland Drive initially started out as a pilot for an unproduced TV show, which may account for some of the random plot points that are ignored later in the film. But despite all that the surreal qualities actually work, and the more we try to investigate the truth the less interested we are. It's a film where we want to find the answers, but at the same we want them to remain hidden. There are countless interpretations to the movie and that just makes it so much better than Lynch's previous film Lost Highway (1997) - a film which influences the narrative structure of this film, but one which employed it less effectively. So what can I really say about Mulholland Drive? It's difficult to review a film like this because of how unique and surreal it is. My recommendation is that you watch it, because it is an incredible experience - artistic, comedic, dark, surreal, mysterious, it's a puzzle that can never truly be solved. Although I believe Blue Velvet to be Lynch's finest film (it was my introduction to his work), Mulholland Drive is worthy of a 10 simply because of how compelling it is - it's the mystery of Twin Peaks, but it's one that even Cooper can't solve. I don't think he'd want to either.

silencio.. Mulholland Dr. It has a promising and twisted plot and with the help of some astonishing and also amusing characters the film sails towards the final act with some bumps like it's overlong runtime and slow screenplay.

Easily one of the best movies of all time. David Lynch is absolute master of magic realism, dream logic, surrealism, and unsettling an audience. This isn't a movie you can watch casually, it will require your full attention. I wasn't even sure I liked it the first time I saw it. But after rewatching it twice now, I can assure you it's some of Lynch's best work and probably one of my favorite films of all time. If you like movies that hold your hand and follow film conventions that have been beaten into the ground for decades, that's fine. But if you want a movie that pushes the boundaries of what film can be, if you want a movie that actually feels like it means something to the director and his audience...watch Mulholland Drive.

Mulholland drive is a great movie. David Lynch bravura direction is the best in the movie, is like he´s there watching all the madness happening and laughing at us reacting to that. This movie has no structure (and in this case is a good thing) and is what it makes it s special and so memorable. Naomi Watts is perfect as Betty, we belueved in her inocence but also in her inner beast. The only problem of the film is that some scenes are too long to keep viewers amusement. Overall, this movie is really worth watching (only if you love cinema)

Back in early 2015, I watched "Mulholland Drive" and my first reaction were mostly positive. I didn't know what to think of it, but I was so in awe with the film that I couldn't stop thinking about it. The reason for not reviewing it back then is because I just wasn't ready to talk about it. This massive delay cause me to forget about it, as at the time, I had a lot of things on my mind. But after re-watching it, it's better on the second watch. I loved "Mulholland Drive". It's both effective, depressing, and strange. I would go as far to say that it's a masterpiece. David Lynch is a master of his craft who's always misunderstood. The dreamy atmosphere is terrifying and yet draws you in. Only he can do it. To strike an emotionally core with you that hits you hard, despite not knowing what's going on. People are so in awe of his work, even when nobody understands him. But strangely, that doesn't matter.

Mulholland Dr. certainly isn't a movie for everyone. But at the same time, it may be the best movie from David Lynch. I won't say anything about the story. But I'm going to say something about the movie itself : oneiric. It's a movie and an experience, an affordable experience. Of course it has flaws, it's not perfect, but my review is just there to say one thing : go and watch it. Maybe you'll love it. Maybe you'll hate it.

I watched this movie on a recommendation from a friend and I have almost never been so dissatisfied. I didn't know who David Lynch was prior to this experience but after this blunder alone I'll be avoiding his work like it's selling me on Scientology. The closest I can come to describing this movie is a cinematic Jackson Pollock painting. Perhaps I'm just simple (It's possible) but at no point did this show have anything that felt like a coherent story to me. I've never had to watch any movie more than once to "get it" and at the end of this viewing I felt both baffled and irritable. I walked away from it with the sensation that what I was told was a masterpiece was nothing more than a pretentious mess. There may be a real story hidden in there but if your audience has to venture online to figure out what's going on then you've failed as a director. Well, failed in the eyes of a layman such as myself. If you liked the movie, I'm happy you enjoyed it, but personally I thought it was crap.

David lynch creates a typical and welcome rich and twisted thriller that can be so open to personal interpretation it really is a marvel. It's the kind of film that you probably won't fully get after an initial viewing (and possibly many more) but it such a wonderful mystery that unfolds that you want to rewatch and study. There is a method in the madness, and it's one of the greatest and most unique films I've ever seen.

In the last 20 years, this would be my favorite film. There is something about this that is unforgettable. I can't really describe what it is about this film that continues to fascinate and please me. But it does and if you haven't seen it, please do. And if you don't like it, please don't talk to me about cinema. We're not on the same page.

Maybe it's art. Maybe it's symbols. Maybe it's all metaphors. I give the film a five because -- who knows? -- maybe I'm just too dense to grasp the hidden meanings. I watched about half an hour and thought the characters less than believable and frankly just a bit silly. And when I start rolling my eyes I'm done. I mean, Goodfellas was believable. LA Confidential was believable. Mulholland Dr., to my peasant sensibilities, seems like schlock.

Mulholland Dr. does not have to be understood to be an interesting experience. I still do not completely understand it, but get something more out of it each time I watch it, and always enjoy the distinctive style and vibe (reminiscent of 80s music videos, but with a 90s mood). One gets the impression that it is not a cheap, gimmicky mystery but rather it is somehow coherent and that makes it open to rewatchings and discussion. It is like a jigsaw puzzle you cannot finish, because it seems like pieces are missing from it, but you later come back and find there are few more and fit them in. The performance by Naomi Watts contributes to the rewatchability of the film. A film about illusions needs a convincing character to be believed.
