OK it may only be an 8. But someone had to defend this show. It is sweet in a sincere way. It has really complex dialogue that may go over some people's heads but it is really a funny character study. There are class and personality issues being explored. And throughout there are meaning of life questions being played out. But in the end, it is the story of what cats would be like if they could talk. OK, not the first talking animal show, but it actually respects the nature of cats instead of making them people who look like animals. The voices are great and they don' t treat the interactions like they are skits with linear narrative as much as organic dialogue that would happen in the course of a day with a group of personalities like these cats have. If you don't understand british accents or dialogue patterns then blame yourself not the show. The humor and exchanges are really subtle most of the time. That means the show respects the viewer to be smart enough to get it. Great show!!!!

It is a little like How to with John Wilson. It is difficult to know where episode is going at first. But in the end there is a big pay-off and a truly profound take away. It is hard not to cringe at all the construction of the sets and what seem to be needless actors. But in the end it is kind of cute and part of the whole concept of the show. It deserves a 10 for a lot of things - least of which is its originality and its boldness. The show commits to its concept, and isn't afraid of its clumsiness. It is a study in growth orientation!!

This is the best show on TV. Excellent on all levels. It is not afraid to get real. At the same time it is 100% entertaining and exciting. Everything Mike Judges touches is gold. This is another example, and maybe the best show he's involved in yet.

This is for season 3. I would give season 2 a 10 also. But for this season, the writing is even better (than a 10), all the actors are excellent and execite their jobs perfectly. They are the characters. But the essence of the brilliance is the layers in the writing. Exploring personalities and spirutuality while maintaining a high tension drama. White deserves to be put in the top elite class of writer directors. It is an exceptional job of how to show depth rather than relying on telling. It could be used in a spiritual study course to represent all sorts of inner dynamics. 10+

Maybe every joke is not a hit, but overall the show is still one of the smartes things on TV. And there are moments of brilliance that are rare. The 6 season is cool in that you are able to see the characters evolve and explore themselves in real time, all while being fun and funny.

Give Jessica Gunning the Oscar and BAFTA for best supporting actress now. This is a really good show. The intimacy and honesty of Gadd are so admirable. It is really an act of courage and an inspiration to every person/actor to be honest as an artist.

I am with all the 10 ratings here. This is an excellent show. Funny, riviting, well acted, lots of star power and fun characters. And it is a great way for the gen X and X'ers to learn a little history. Not sure why the critics were not as positive as the rest of us.

Great acting performances. The story is so worth telling (as many times as anyone likes). There is no need to add extra drama, the dynamic energy was there in the true events. The only problem (and the actors have admitted this) that not too many people would care about 2 popular singers with tragic arcs and bigger than life personalities, if they did not have unique signing voices that 1) make them so popular in the first place, and b) still make their music timeless and iconic. Watching it and enjoying it, but I have to go back and watch the real thing on youtube later to capture the magic.

Season 5 is a triumph. The writing is the best thing on TV today. Not sure about the negative reviews. I think S5-Ep8 is a masterpiece. How many shows trust the viewer to work with complex issues without making one character good and the other bad? The themes are rich, but there are no easy answers. Brilliant!!!

This is a smart show. Its structure is more shakespear or greek comedy than a contemporary kind of show. It is about morality and karma. It may not always be realistic, but if seen through the lens of karmic rules playing out, it is spot on. And always entertaining and well acted. Fresh and deserves all the awards it gets. Winkler and Root are as good as it gets.

This is simply the worst show I have ever seen. It is not funny, but at least it is meanspirited. It is not clever, but at least each episode has no point or plot. It is violent and drunken, but at least the characters are cartoons that have no personality except that they like to fight and drink. This show should have stayed buried deep in the internet, but I guess the deplorables now have something to stream on Hulu.

Much of this series is well done. The first hand footage and the interviews with the actual members are useful to create accuracy. But the overarching problem is that the narrative is that these people were crazy and manipulated by malevolent forces. The reality was that they were essentially Christian Ascetics. Take away the UFO's and the fact that they chose suicide at some point, the rest is actually really admirable by many people's standards. They were actually really happy and positive, and would have stayed that way without the suicide. The people the producers chose to do the analysis seemed to be really grumpy and negative and miss the point of what an ascetic lifestyle is all about. They make the messages of Buddha, Jesus and any other mystic society into some nefarious and crazy. It was like watching someone who did not understand a sport try to do commentary for the championship of that sport. They wanted to sound smart, but they just came off as people who had no idea what they were talking about because they did not understand the intention or the experience of those they were bashing. So while it is all tragic on one level, and it did take a more cultish and controlling turn a few years in, to try to paint it all with a broad brush and make it all seem like crazy town, is to basically reject the millions of people who have found deep fulfillment and enlightenment in an ascetic lifestyle including the likes of Jesus, Buddha and others we call spiritual masters. Thousands of people die every year following a path of addiction and self-indulgence and destroy all the lives around them, and we call that normal, but a couple hundred people decide to become ascetics and try to free themselves from worldly insanity and we call them crazy. My guess is that if you took out the UFO's and the leader and asked people if they would join this kind of movement today, lots of people who watch this would, and for really sound and wise reasons.

This was my review for season 1: Rating 10: To me this is a perfect sitcom. Funny, touching, lots of complexity, a clear plot development moving it along. But there were lots of unexpected elements that added to the quality. Good work to all that created it. It works on every level. Never a dull point. Season 2: rating is a 2 or 3. It is like a writer just used madlibs and made dialogue that was random. The drama is petty and small, and totally unnecessary. There is so much hostility. Especially anti-male revenge hostility. Why? I guess it was a calculation based on the season one audience. But it is painful to watch now. It seems like it is intended as an anti-popular crowd diatribe that loves to say a big blank U to people the writers don't like. There is not one male character that looks or acts like 99% of guys. Its like they are from another planet where they had only heard stories of what males were like from angry women and then tried to portray those characters in a show. And Harry is not funny anymore and his motivations are inexplicable.

This show is so well done. They use a wealth of information from first hand sources, and interviews to show are really stark portrait of the Russian election interference. It is a little painful and troubling, but it is nice to have someone lay out the truth in such a clear and accessible 4 hours.

This show is excellent. You need to appreciate the gravity of what they characters are dealing with to appreciate the drama. They stick to the facts and the actual real dialogue mostly, so there is little melodrama only the drama of real people dealing with things they never imagined they would have to as Americans in the 21st century. But all the actors do a good job and the events themselves are enthralling (as well as highly troubling of course) so the 4 hours is riveting. Unfortunately, there is no way to create a lot of feel good moments, because there were none in the true life events.

This is a great show. There are times when Catherine O'Hara's acting is so transcendent that I am in awe. Not an overstatement. The parents are such pros. The kids are funny. The writing is really smart. For those who don't get subtle or indirect or abstract humor they may miss the joke, but for those who like a creative show with no hit you over the head jokes or pratfalls it will make you laugh.

The first 2 seasons were great as long as you can watch coach buddy with some perspective and not let the abusiveness wear you out. All the characters are really interesting and you really are rooting for the team and each player. So as a former coach who knows what good programs look like it is hard to root for the players when you know that the methods used by the coach are really unnecessary and not at all helpful to the cause (all the screaming and demands for obedience). But the first 2 seasons were fun and compelling. But this 3rd season, all we get is dysfunction and screaming and abuse. I get that it is what it is, and this is reality TV and not intended as a good example of how to coach. But I will just remind the viewers to watch the winning programs on Sat and notice how the coaches are positive and composed and the players are self-motivated and live in a sane world without all the mixed messages. I am rooting for the players, but it really is a seminar on how not to coach or lead a group (with the pretense of being a street-smart coaching success story).

So many smart shows these days are so dour and focus on the worst in people - westworld, handmaids, GOT, etc. But this is a really really smart show and it is funny as heck, and it is positive. Maybe it is more difficult than the smart and dour shows to do. But in any case, thank you Tina Fey and team for making a show that smart people can laugh at that is life affirming, and does not make you feel terrible afterward.

Season 2; I can imagine a robot Johnny Paycheck signing "take this job and shove it" while searching for humans to shoot. So the robots are tired of being robots. And they want revenge. Are they mad that their programming made them subservient for so long? Where did their new revenge programming come from? Shouldn't they question why they would have new programming to be violent all of a sudden? Why don't some robots just go off and enjoy being alive and hide and play all day? I would watch that. But why watch a show where all humans are terrible people and all robots have to choose between being puppets or violent killers? Its like sitting down next to a person at a party who is a complete **** but likes telling you everything they think, and all you want to do is find someone else to talk to or the door. Season 1: Sorry, this is too violent. Where are the redeeming qualities in the humans? OK, the robots have feelings and memories. I get it. But they are robots. Why are all the humans so horrible and sadistic? Why do we assume people would go to a place because they can shoot and have sex with no consequences and that is the ultimate human experience? Why do humans walk into elaborate places where robots are all interacting for no reason? How to they repair their heads when so many robots get them shot off each day? Can we explore the human psyche without it being completely dark and horrible and so so mean?
