The story belongs to its young cast, and Lords' ramshackle comedy sweetly captures the rank anxiety, random humiliations, and undiluted hope of being young.

While the movie can play like one big valentine to an adolescent’s adoration of metal music culture, it also nails the most important aspect of metal music in a teen’s life: how it can provide a sense of power to misfits who often feel like they have none.

This is metal!
Cool movie, introducing new generation to great music and with deep thought behind that.

A very enjoyable experience, I appreciate the comedic elements that blended it all together. Also the acting was quite well in the romantic scenes, as well as the end scene; where they played "Machine of Torment"

Metal Lords, though it hits some nice high notes, never quite grabs you like the best coming-of-age movies thanks to Peter Sollett’s flat, uninspired direction.

Never quite sure enough of itself to answer its own questions, this is a fun, sweet and occasionally funny film, but it’s never going to win a battle of the band movies.

Metal Lords ends just when it feels like it’s finding its footing, with its characters taking too much time to address their flaws, leaving the music and the bonds that have been formed via the music, on the back burner for too long.

Metal Lords is earnest with metal but sloppy with character and story. It delivers a rousing finale but the journey there is uninspired and half-formed.

Peter Sollett’s coming-of-age comedy betrays rather than upholds the values of the very kids it wants to revere.

If you like rock/metal music, you'll like this movie. If you don't like, i take the risk saying that you'll also like this movie. Need to say about Noah Urrea's acting! Noah plays Clay Moss in the movie and even though he doesn't have many scenes, he's one of my favorite characters (along with Emily and Kevin).

Cute movie. But what makes it acceptable is people like me who grew up with metal music. Metal music was always been a passion for youngsters like us. We wanted to rebel. We embraced the Punk life. But in time, we realized everything was just a stage show. All those leathers, stage fights, and pentagrams were just advertisements. They were devils on the stage, but behind, they were just dudes. Yeah, some of them had problems, which the movie shows us; most of them were just simple music guys. That is all. The movie shows how these little guys are passionate about metal and its hectic life. And how our new society forgot the metal music and only cares about Imagine Dragons and derivatives. Once upon a time, metal was life. Now, it's just rumble. And also, what I liked in the movie was that we had a moment to break our preconceptions. The scene where Hunter calls them "gay" was brilliant. Back then, when we were young, we couldn't realize the image they were creating. They were everything. They were the only ones who were trying to break the barriers of preconceptions. They were rough men, they were feminine men, and sometimes they were women. Long story short... It's 2022. Metal music is fading. Movies like this make me nostalgic. Not a bad story, with quite good acting and lots of good music. That is enough for me.

Didn't know much about this one until I stumbled across it on Netflix. I was pleasantly surprised. It has a lot to like. Good casting, funny and all around a good time.
