Kraven the Hunter is a high thrills action movie with 2 great stars giving admirable performances. Yes, the plot is a bit sketchy , but it IS a comic book movie. So maybe a 5 or 6? But in the early scenes in the Russian gulag, they made a very big prop mistake--a mistake no Russian would ever make and a mistake so egregious that a Russian audience would howl with derisive laughter at its stupidity.. This mistake was missed by the props people, the director, the cinematographer, the editor, and everyone else including all the executives who viewed the rushes, etc. The mistake was the orientation of the chess board. No big deal, right? Wrong. I've seen this happen more often than not. Another marvel product, Luke Cage, had the same problem as we see a chess board incorrectly set up in the opening scene of the barber shop. (They fix this in later episodes.) But this was a barber shop in America, where the game is not one that most people play, not Russia where the game is arguably the national pastime. So, i give it a 4 for being a sloppily executed 100million dollar movie held together by valiant actors battling substandard directing and cgi. Mr. Talor-Johnson and M. Crowe deserve better. Trying to put this in perspective, it would be like showing a football diagram where the players are lining up perpendicular to the sidelines, or a baseball model where the batter is attempting to hit the ball from the first base.

I think Kraven The Hunter is a great movie! I have no idea why it got such bad reviews. I think people are hateful and angry and don't like new things.

A Clichéd Animal Lover’s "Papa Complex" Trapped in 90s Nostalgia250914 (1.5)Watching "Kraven the Hunter" feels like stepping back into a mediocre 90s action flick—a "cliché bibimbap" that is as predictable as it is artificial. The film centers on Sergei Kravinoff, a "beast-man" with a serious father complex, whose powers are derived from the magical blood of a legendary lion named Zar. While Aaron Taylor-Johnson delivers decent action, the character's intelligence is bafflingly inconsistent; he lives in a highly visible glass greenhouse despite being a wanted killer and tries to recruit Calypso, a high-flying lawyer at a top European firm, to join his "hit list" business. The narrative swings wildly, portraying Kraven as an invincible predator one moment and having him easily outmaneuvered the next, making it impossible to find him truly **** supporting cast is equally problematic. His half-brother, Dmitri (Chameleon), suffers through years of their father Nikolai’s abuse, only to eventually inherit the very mafia empire he supposedly loathed. Russell Crowe’s performance as Nikolai is a collection of cringeworthy Russian stereotypes, portraying a father so obsessed with "being a legend" that he leaves his sons to die in lion attacks. Calypso, despite her background as a professional investigator, is reduced to a mere plot device who exists solely to provide Kraven with magical potions and crossbow support. Even the villains like Rhino and Foreigner are wasted; Foreigner is taken out by a simple crossbow bolt after being built up as a master assassin, and Rhino’s exit is laughably hollow. The film is a string of missed opportunities and jarring directing choices—like the awkward reveal of Kraven’s armory—that prove the SSU (Sony’s Spider-Man Universe) is struggling to find its footing. It’s a series of "Why?" moments that leave the audience feeling no regret as the credits roll, only a sense of fatigue from the repetitive tropes of a bygone era.

Feels like it was written for very young viewers. The CGI is poor, the dialogue is genuinely bad, and while the main actor does a solid job, much of the supporting acting is painfully weak. The story tries to sell twists, but none of them land or feel surprising, which makes the whole plot feel flat and predictable.There are a few redeeming moments. The jump scenes and the car chases are entertaining and show flashes of what the film could have been with better direction and tighter editing. Unfortunately, the runtime works against it. If this had been trimmed to around ninety minutes, it might have been more tolerable. As it is, it drags and overstays its welcome.

Just pathetic. That's not even a watchable action movie, everything is off and dull. Feels as if absolutely nobody involved in this ever worked on a movie. Just a paid vacation to various locations for the crew and.. idk money laundering ? Mandatory contractual movie to keep the rights. ? Anyway, a waste of time for the audience, avoid

I struggled to rate this however I do like action movies and this definitely has got some solid action parts to it. I feel the action for me does enough to pump it to a 7. However, I felt bored in certain parts of the movie. I felt a bit lost. The CGI animals looked unrealistic. I was a bit annoyed that Calpyso just disappeared. Given that Rhino and The Foreigner were built up as these invincible characters throughout the movie, they were killed off rather quickly and easily. Having said all of that though, I would recommend it.

I’m more moderate on this one compared to Morbius and Madame **** the positive side: great casting (Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s performance is incredible!) and some really solid action **** the negative side: the pacing drags, the CGI animals look bad, and the green screen effects are way too obvious. But the worst part? The total underuse of Rhino. Why include such a great villain if you’re only going to use him for FOUR minutes out of a 2h07 movie?At least we can take comfort in knowing that Sony’s Spider-Man extended universe seems to be ending with this final misfire. Still, it’s more enjoyable to watch than — yes, again — Morbius and Madame Web.

A decent adaptation but I got lost the plot several times unsure of what was happening. Definitely a fun plot at least.

Really surprisingly well edited and acted. Kraven forgoes the usual tropes, has no cringey scenes and is overall well plotted. What really stood out was the acting; the performances are great throughout. I have no idea why the critics reaction was so averse, this was a much more solid superhero movie than recent entries.

Decent movie. Acting, direction, story all seems fair to me. Don't understand why there's so much negative reviews. You should definitely give it a try.

Just going to say it - i think of the 3 "anti heros" Sony has made movies on - Venom, Morbius, and Kraven - Kraven is at the head of pack by a mile. No silly one liners (except the stupid "Ill see you"), not dragged down by ridiculous love intetest, just pure action and villian killing fun. Wish there would be a second but know im in minoroty with that

This is one of the worst films I've seen in the past year despite having two of the best male actors in cinema today. I place the blame on the writing, directing, and ultimately the executive who greenlit its release. It's a wonder to me how any executive who has been involved in the more recent Marvel films has kept their job after killing the golden goose and then blaming others for the crime.

This is one huge pile of garbage pretending to be a movie. Why did anyone ever think this might work? It works best as a waste of time.

It is every bit as bad as critics made it out to be. If I could give this a negative score, I would. There is nothing redeemable about this. It is directionless, has terrible acting and awful effects, and the action scenes are so scarce that you forget all about them.

Okay cool.... but wasn't Kraven supposed to be a villain? BORING - COOL - UNDERDEVELOPED - OVERCOMPLICATED ... that was the most boring superhero film I've ever seen. The script dragged us through way too much exposition in the first half. It didn't get any better. Worst dialogue I've heard all year. Painful. Sony is trying so hard to be Marvel, and it at this point it's embarrassing. They introduced way too many comic book characters, and overcomplicated a film that could have otherwise been great. The Kravinoffs should have been the main cast. The conflict with his father is the backbone of his character and that should have been driving the whole story. That is also the MOST RELATABLE storyline Hollywood could give us!! Who doesn't have conflict with their dad?! Then his brother... that's what would make this interesting. Instead of saving his... 'transformation' until the end, that's what Kraven should have discovered after being apart from his brother for so long. Again, who doesn't have conflict with their brother?! Alas, Dema remains a character that will never see the light of day. Cheesy effects. The lion was kinda cool, but the scene where he gets the magic potion was like... stock graphics. And speaking of the potion - that first scene with Calypso was... weak acting and line delivery. Her character is difficult to handle though. She has to be part of the backstory because of her potion... but her character doesn't feel part of the actual story. She just shows up when it's convenient to the plot. Too many villains. Nivola's acting as the Rhino made me frown. The introduction of The Foreigner - the movie lost me. Also.... isn't Kraven supposed to be a villain?! Yeah... he was definitely a good guy here. Taylor-Johnson is WILD as Kraven... but they didn't push the boundaries of the character. The character development was so safe. Which makes it boring. He wasn't... DANGEROUS enough. He needed to be unhinged, a monster. Grappling with good and evil... not trying to rid the world of the evil his father brought. That's not a villain - that's a hero. Hechinger is an excellent casting choice for Dema, but again, underutilized in his role. For Crowe... surprised to see him in this film, and I just couldn't take his Russian accent seriously. Also, why is he fat? Nothing about his character design says, "Russian mob boss/lion hunter". It's still a cool movie - especially on the big screen - for the stunts and seeing a lion-man in fight scenes, but there wasn't even that much of that. It would be eye-rolling on a TV at home. Some of the CGI is totally obvious, and we didn't even get the iconic lion mane suit until the LAST SHOT OF THE FILM. I kept waiting for that, and was... disappointed. There was so much more underneath the surface, but too much time was spent on backstory and other characters. I'm glad Sony is letting go of this... Spider-Man-villain-verse and focusing on the Spider-Man character himself. It's a shame this ended so poorly... it could have been something really great...

Kraven the hunter was such a great **** had a great cast with great acting, and was full of action and suspense. There was no dull moments. The fight scenes really got me into it. It was a fast paced film. I’m so sad that people who didn’t see the film and assumed because it was a Sony flick it would be bad. This movie deserves way more respect than it got. I hope they do a sequel.

I don't know but I actually quite enjoyed this - I am not informed about the comic book character at all so maybe the problem is about that, but as a movie itself it was quite fun and interesting. Of course it lacks some parts in the story but as an action movie I did like it.

Kraven the Hunter is one that definitely has a muddled storyline and also really felt they needed to give some characters more prominent roles as action and chases are what the movie is relying on.

I would like to start saying that even if I think they are trash, i am fan of the venom movies. Specially the 2nd one. And i must say that they were pretty laid down, but i got expectations **** good time withthis one. Oh boy!!, what a disappoinment! The movie goes in a very clumsy way backwards and forward, telling a revenge story that we saw thousand times before with absolutely nonsense,actors embarrasing themselves, and the best bits, we saw them in the trailer... The only reedimjng quality its a russel crowe having a ball as jraven father and a rusian accent spouting bull%#£& out his mouth. TERRIBLE. This hunter just will catch a flu.

I really liked this movie. While it might not be true to the comic template, it was a sound action movie that kept entertaining. Aaron Tyler-Johnson was fantastic in my mind. Can't really get all the hate this movie got

Damn, i really expected a Madam Web quality desaster. But i really enjoyed this Movie. Is it a Masterpiece? Hell no, but i saw waaay worse movie lately, that were praised by Critics. This one is fun, good simple action. And for me, from all the Marvel/Sony Movies after Endgame, one of the most enjoyable.

Oh, where to start. It's not the worst Marvel movie Sony has made, and that's the best thing I can say about it. The action is generic, with way too much CGI used on both animals and Kraven himself. They seem to be making the same mistakes over and over again. But, ultimately, the movie was dead on arrival because Kraven is not a good guy. He's not even an antihero. He's a villain. So the second you try to turn him into some punisher style antihero, who hunts worse villains for sport, it alienates the actual fans the character has in the world. Hollywood's obsession with turning villains into flawed heroes is mind-boggling to me. Are there not enough Spider-Man heroes out there, they need to turn the villains into antiheroes? However, if you put aside all the things they should have done instead, Kraven the Hunter is just not a good movie. Crap villain, mediocre action, ATJ looks fine as Kraven, but doesn't even do a Russain accent. Then they have the audacity to shoehorn in other Spider-Man villains into the film, not only as the ultimate bad guy in this film, but then as a teaser for a potential sequel? Did they learn nothing from Amazing Spider-Man 2? Don't think about the next movie until you figure out how to get the first one right! It's just insulting to the audience, who all know the second the movie ends, that there won't be a sequel.

Decent casting and a high visual effects budget breathe as much life as possible into the now vastly over saturated superhuman film genre. Overall it was a touch over mediocre thanks to the sheer bombasity of the action but the screenplay and plot were poor, really only below average in quality from start to end. If you can get past the tired genre and weak writing then there might be something here to krave!!!

The action scenes are somewhat watchable but not entirely satisfying, with an incoherent and erratic narrative, along with a bland and uninspiring script. Kraven the Hunter had the potential to be a decent mid-budget revenge film, but unfortunately, it seems to be heading down the same path as its predecessor, Madame Web.

I think it failed because it was too "woke"! lolololol This review is for all the anti woke weirdos who get emotionally triggered by every movie and cry about woke Hollywood. Claiming no trophies with its rote story and shoddy special effects, Kraven the Hunter turns out to be a paper tiger.

Aber Kraven the Hunter ist ein Tiefpunkt. Die Effekte sind lächerlich und wie er zu Kraven wird, ist einfach nur dumm. Generell ist der Film nur dumm und langweilig. Die Action ist nur fast am Ende ok und wenn Fallen eine Rolle spielen ist es unterhaltsam, aber ansonsten ist der Film schlecht. Kraven hat hier keinen russischen Akzent und wird hier ein Held. Bei den anderen Filmen konnte ich es noch nachvollziehen, das sie gut gemacht wurden. Aber Kraven auf keinen Fall. Das PS5 Spiel Spider-Man 2 fängt Kraven perfekt ein. Kraven the Hunter ist ein brutaler Jäger und eine Erscheinung. I warned Sony repeatedly, and we all kept on telling Sony that maybe this was a bad idea. Oh, but No. Me Sony, Me have Money and Licenses for characters that people will not care about because Spiderman is not there. I get it, you want an Origin Story for Kraven, but the character is so 1 Dimensional that nothing in this film connects with anyone. Although nothing in this film is good, the action is the only reason why it gets 2 points from me. The Story, characters, side characters, CGI, Acting, Writing, Directing, everything in this film is bad. This film is so bad that the Film repeatedly tells You What the Character's name ****, I know, His name Is Kraven, I got the name. I don't know how it's possible to Film 2 Hours of just a bad film, but here we go once again, Sony Does not get it. Hence I will tell you what you need to do Sony. Now Listen Carefully... MAKE THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 3 with Andrew, MAKE SPIDER-MAN 4 with Tobey. Disney has set you up for Sequels to those Universes, and yet you refuse to do it. This film is a 2/10, You can only watch this film if it's in the background while you do something else. Wasting Time Watching this is possibly a Sin, and I feel that Sony Should Pay me back My time. Sony Used to make high-quality Films that we all enjoy, and now they are trying to ride waves that Died 5 years ago. Stop it make something new and Fresh or Give sequels to Films that have a Chance. Overall I DO NOT RECOMMEND WATCHING THIS FILM, Just Skip it, it is not worth it. If you went to the Theatre to watch this, you Deserve your money Back, Sony should pay you to watch this ****.

There are points to critique but I think the story progression makes for an interestingtake on an old tale, and Aaron plays the character very well.

Wow! Kraven was an entire mindtrip! It was a thrill ride and a pleasure to see, but also astonishing for some of the more violent scenes. I was impressed with the acting of Aaron and I felt that it was raw, emotionally riveting, and that it was a fun and immersive story that drew the audience into an interesting tale with added mystical elements that were unique and thought provoking. I enjoyed seeing Russell Crowe in a much more sinister role where he took more of a backseat to being the main character which was cool and fun - his portrayal of a Russian mob with a "family business" at stake was on point and I thoroughly enjoyed the interactions between his character and Aaron Taylor-Johnson's because they seemed to pair well with the energy. One of my more enjoyable Marvel experiences this year.

one the best hero movies to come out in a long time good action with a good plot with some twists and turns. Would recommend as an easy fun watch

Kraven the Hunter is a good action film, contains very present violence, the character Kraven is well characterized and faithful to the same character of Marvel Comics, this makes the film pass more loyalty to fans, since this should be the target audience. The film is a story that gives rise to the character Kraven, showing his past, present and at the end his future. As well as other ones that may come in the future. The film in my opinion sends the message that humans are sometimes the cruelest animal in the world, referring to poaching as an example of this. I recommend watching everyone who knows or wants to know Kraven and also the public who likes a movie with action and a lot of violence.

A ação, noção de espaço, edição, tudo parece muito amador, mesmo com ares de grande produção. O que salva mesmo é a aprticipação de Russel Crowe, que de forma digna faz um pai/vilão que abaca definindo a personalidade dos irmãos, e com o roteiro acertadamente sabendo definir os arcos, fáceis de acompanhar. Os efeitos estão surpreeendemente abaixo de um filme desse porte em 2024.

Kraven the Hunter is not as bad as critics make it out to be the CGI is not great but there are good action scenes and a realy fun film to watch.

Way better than the critics made it seem. Russell Crowe is killer, Aaron is hot, the actors who play the younger versions of the brothers did excellent work, RHINO does not look as cringe as the memes made him out to be, and the story beats actually land and had impact! I suggest making your own opinion.

Kraven the Hunter is I love this movie one of my favorite movies of 2024 this movie is better than Madame web kraven is Spiderman and wolverine but more wolverine but I love storyline and full of action pack and all the fight scenes favorite character is Sergio aka Kraven the Hunter he is amazing but Aaron Taylor Johnson and Ariana debose is most standout performances in the movie 5 star 10 out 10 star 100 out 100 star

Sony tries again without Spiderman on a superhero film and fails fatally. 3/10 is the maximum that can still be given to the extremely disappointing work. Please only Spiderman.

It’s frustratingly bad, as it has some good action sequences and Aaron is an excellent Kraven, but the writing and direction are atrocious. I wanted to enjoy this movie so much, but I just couldn’t. There was a lot of audio issues; I’m fairly certain there was a lot of ADR as the lips often didn’t quite line up with the dialogue.

That’s Kraven…with a K.Kraven the Hunter, the last of the Sony Spider-Man villain spinoff films without ever featuring Spider-Man in them, brings this era of MCU-adjacent Marvel films to a close with a whimper. We’ll give it some props, as most of the action sequences are well done and exciting, full of high-intensity battles and lots of over-the-top violence, it’s the other sequences in the film that are mostly ruined by rough dialogue and even rougher CGI work. Aaron-Taylor Johnson gives a decent performance as Kraven, but he cannot even escape the rough dialogue and mediocre story points he was stuck to muddle through. Just like with Venom, Sony has decided to focus more on the antihero/hero part of the character but leaves us wanting more of the character that we might not see again, at least in this form. We also question the use of even more MCU actors in a universe that has been loosely tied to the MCU now, adding even more confusion to an already messy situation. It's the same movie the Sonyverse has been making for years: some guy gets infected with something and gains superpowers. The toxic masculinity (displayed with a troubled father-son relationship) is the only interesting thing in it. RIP Sonyverse.
