As someone who came into this with no personal history with the graphic novels or previous adaption - I was eager to see how Netflix would showcase the series. Didn't realize it would be so horrendous. Bad acting, bad dialogue "soaring music" for every hug or watery eye. Dumb dumb dumb

This show is funny, clever, and subversive all at once. Truly captures some of the worst aspects of our society - calls them out - and lets us laugh at their absurdity. A "Dynasty" for the 21st Century. I am glad I am not alone in how much I enjoy watching this and hope it is renewed!

20 minutes...13 seconds. That is all I lasted. Dumb Dumb Dumb. Bad dialogue and acting as many have said. I've got to ask myself........exactly "Why?" are the kids along with them on this risky space colonization flight in the first place?????? The answer from this show is to be super annoying...I guess. But given they are the offspring of such a couple of moronic yet dull adults.....I guess that is to be expected. So a final message to the Robinsons: Stay lost...PLEASE don't come home.

For me, this has become the most boring AHS' season - which is something that I thought Coven would hang onto indefinitely. We've watched 5 episodes and I'm still unclear what the story is supposed to be. The episodes are very disjointed and don't seem connected well - at the end of each one - it seems that I just watched a lot of random events stitched together that were intended to be shocking but were dull instead. There really doesn't seem to be any sort of overarching plot or intriguing story-line that was present in other seasons. Yes, I know they are commenting on the state of America and politics, blah blah blah. But haven't we gotten that ad infinitum in real time since the actual election? So they are a small cult running around trying to create terror so somehow Evans gains a larger political following that he can manipulate during his pursuit of a city council seat....yawn. Do I really need to watch a fictionalized version of the insanity of polarized political identities when all I have to do is turn on any news channel to get the same thing? At this point, I just don't care and won't watch the rest of the season. A first for me with AHS. "Sad!"

Star Trek: Discovery: Season 1

I'm rating this show as a "9" as any TV show generally has some flaws - and Discovery hasn't been immune to that. However, I have to commend it for bringing us a different type of Trek. I'm in my fifties and have been a fan of the original show, TNG, and Voyager. For me the fact that this show portrays Star Fleet officers as flawed is important. If one truly thinks of the "Trek time" line - Picard and Janeway were centuries after Lorca. It is totally realistic for Star fleet officers to be darker in nature and fuzzier on ethical grounds than what is achieved in the future. Quite honestly, most of the negative reviews seem to harp on (1) Having to pay (by the way - only if you want to see it right away - I'm sure it will be available on other streaming services or broadcast - after the season ends) and (B) that it isn't exactly the same ( as TNG, etc. Like I said - I'm glad it is a different type of Trek and really excited for the rest of the season! Thnik the cast and writers are doing awesome!

I'm giving the show a two only because of Francis Conroy character and that I'm a big fan of hers - but she has been totally wasted. Quite honestly, she is the only reason I've sat through 4 episodes hoping against hope that her character will develop into the crazed religious character of both the book and the movie. However, alas, although there are ever so slight hints that it might happen I have no desire to sit through two more seasons until it does - given the pacing of this show that is what I've come to expect for anything interesting or exciting to happen. Also, I could care less about the sexual assault story line that (for some reason) seems to be the major theme of the series. Worst of all it's BORING -(at least Under the Dome engaged me for an entire season before it went off the rails.) Where are the monsters? Where is the mayhem? Where is the fight for survival? It is like a post apocalyptic Blue's Clues episode titled "Trapped in A Mall" YAWN!

I would say this show is best described as the illegitimate love child of a John Grisham novel, 24, and Star Trek. It is cheesy and implausible --- but I kind of like it! I've only watched the pilot - so my opinion could change - the show's schtick might get old **** I'm willing to give it some time to see if it becomes one of my summer time, "never gonna be nominated for an Emmy", comfort food shows. Time will tell.......I've got at least 186 days to make up my mind!

4 minutes - 6 Seconds. That was all I could take of this show. I read the original The Sword of Shanarra trilogy back when I was young and it was an awesome fantasy adventure and a great read. This was also way before YA Dystopian future novels were all the rage. I was assuming this series was based on that series.....I was horribly wrong. In 4 minutes they managed to smash in so many YA dystopian future cliches that I about threw up in my mouth! Opening credits....remnants of our technological society. Check. Long shot camera pan down to someone running in woods? Check. Running in woods = training for the "BIG TRIAL". Check. Plucky, non-PC heroine bucking the system. Check. Plucky non-PC heroine's sassy female sidekick (doomed to die....I'm sure). Check. Not quite sure what they were trying to accomplish by throwing in what appeared to be a Ambercrombie photo shoot with shirtless "elves" (by elves I mean overly gym bodied twinks with pointy ears.........(after all pointy ears = elf.....right? Everyone knows that!) but I'll give it a Check anyway. Photo shoot masquerading as "preparing for the big trial" in which boys immediately cheat against plucky, non-PC heroine. Check. God Awful....remember all this inane nonsense happened in the first 4 minutes and 6 seconds of the pilot. My judgment: Download deleted!!!!!!!

I hate it when people say this but really around 6.5 is a good score for the first episode - but I gave it a 7 because It has good potential to develop further and be quite good - for me it seems like a good replacement for last season's 'Almost Human'. I will agree with others that the actors seem a little wooden with each other and there is a bit of clunky dialogue I thought the acting was was best when just Dash (Stark Sands) and Lara (Meagan Good) were interacting with each other. Also, quite honestly found the Will Blake character to be extremely annoying (way too much of an irritating, pretty boy actor was cast). That being said, I actually enjoyed it over all and liked the CGI/special effects used to represent futuristic police investigation tools. I liked the hint of what the underlying, connecting story thread will be that was given at the closing of the pilot so we know there will be more than just a case of the week format. Hopefully they keep developing it further. I'll definitely keep watching though!

Surprisingly enough, this is an amazingly good show (it could have been reallllly bad)! While tackling (but not overwhelmingly so) the question of "what does it mean to be human" the plot has developed at a good pace with multiple character story lines beginning to intermingle. The good thing is all of the characters don't KNOW yet their stores are intermingling which makes it even more enjoyable. There is a bit here for everyone Sci-fi, suspense, mystery, and good endings to each episode that leaves you wondering what is going to happen next? I'm about halfway through the first season and the many factors keep things suspenseful. Really glad its been renewed for a second season.

I was torn between rating this Season a 6 and a 7 even though I am liking this season a bit more than the first. Ultimately, I decided on the 6 because the story is progressing well and the villains (both human and non-human) have been pretty well established but still able to throw in some new twists like the addition of Ephs (now vampire) wife and the spider/bind child posse she controls as being more of a factor to look out for than just the Master. The down side is: (a) I cannot stand the child actor that is the new replacement for Eph's son. He seems to be capable of only one facial expression which is a combination of "Yeah, I'm a super cool kid actor acting rebellious and whiny. I can barely tolerate the (blessedly few and brief) times he has **** (b) Ephs "alcoholism" is an unnecessary, trite, and distracting prop addition since it seems primarily to consist of the camera focusing on him dramatically drinking (e.g. as he cuts his hair, sits on a train, etc) but it never amounts to more than that more. Trust me, I know this show will never fall into a "must see" category - only the guilty pleasure one but given all of that - I am glad its been renewed for a 3rd season (just please please please replace the kid!)

**** here is the thing about this show. I actually like the actor who plays Daredevil (Murdoch). Plus I like Fisk's character, his sidekick, (although he is a little bit of a rip-off of the sidekick from Banshee), Fisk's girlfriend and all of the bad guys (Especially Madam Gow!!!) However, I CANNOT stand the investigative reporter, Fogey, or the blond chick that is Murdoch and Fogey's secretary. Their acting is sub-par plus they get the stupidest dialogue (which is part of why I hate their acting). I want to fast forward every-time they come on the screen. they really bring the show down. Overall, I DO like the show and plan to keep watching but simply can't get enthusiastic about it and can't give it a complete thumbs up. I'm about halfway through the first season and keep hoping the contributions these three bring will improve or at LEAST one of them will get killed off.

Under the Dome (2) – 0 I had originally rated the second season of Under the Dome a 6 after only initially watching the premiere. After suffering through the following 3 god awful episodes I'm revising my rating score. I have never watched a show where the writers make the solution to solving a problem so "convenient" for the characters or had such idiotic dialogue. Does anyone REALLY believe a High School is going to keep a log of who was assigned each individual locker in the school going back 50 years? LOL (I won't say why that was relevant to the **** REALLY?) or can you respect a police officer that says "I should arrest you for harboring a SUSPECT" LOL.....What??? what law is that.??? Stupid writing through and through. We have actually taken this off of our schedule. The first season I really enjoyed but CBS should have ended the show with that season (Totally shocked this has been renewed for a third season…who the heck is still watching this dreck?).

I imagine most people have seen the pilot at this point. Gotta admit the first 2/3 of it was god awful with regards to dialogue, character development, and plot. However, the last 1/3 grabbed my attention and made me give it another shot. I'm totally hooked at this point. There are frequent moments of very hokey dialogue and plot conveniences. But this show is a total guilty pleasure show - I know it will never get an Emmy nod (LOL) but it has enough of a story line that keeps me tuning in every week and occasionally some surprising twists.

"Your anger is scaring the sand!" How can you dislike a show when Lily Tomlin delivers a line like this with such hilarity? We laughed all the way through the pilot. True it may not be a TERRIBLY original concept.....scorned rival wives becoming **** the lead actresses are old pros and really bring a lot to the series. I do have to say that, unfortunately – I don’t buy Martin Sheen and Sam Waterson as believable gay men…every time I watch I simply see Martin Sheen and Sam Waterson trying to portray a gay character…their on screen personas do not make me BELIEVE they are gay. However, overall, if you want to watch this show for some **** won't be disappointed.

Synopsis: Dull, Dull, Dull. Very disappointed as I was looking forward to this series coming for quite a while. However, I have no desire to sit through another hour of stereotypical "hippie-trippie" statements from the supporting cast and "grand" pronouncements from the Manson character that simply don't make sense and add nothing to the plot as he is simply spouting faux-writer imagined-made up religion mumbo-jumbo. Maybe the real Manson spoke like this but as a viewer I found it irritating and distracting. It seemed way too forced and not natural. Also have no interest in watching a Law and Order rip off that has simply been set in the 1960's given that future episodes focus on solving other cases while the Manson story line continues as a way to "give character" to the series. Way better shows out there to watch.

I'm late in the game on this show to write a review but it is such an amazing series, I had to add my two cents! Instead of getting mired in a standard "who done it?" procedural formula, the show dives in the characters lives an how the impact of the couple killed in the first few minutes of the pilot impact EVERYONE involved. Just simply brilliant writing and acting by simply every character on the show. This season definitely deserves Globe/Emmy recognition. I'm thrilled it was renewed. Each episode is so powerful we are watching it slowly. Only halfway through at this point. Check it out if you haven't seen it!

Good acting but gotta give kudos to Nurse Pam....love to hate her!!!! Good writing. Can't wait to see where it goes from here.

The characters in this show are amazing. Vera as Norma is unbelievable. We see how Norman is being warped and changed in front of her (so does she) and yet both she and us are unable to stop the process. She is a totally sympathetic character as is Norman. This show has all the pluses - great acting, great story, great character development. I've been watching since Season 1 and can't wait for this season to continue.

A quite funny and watchable show. I was a little hesitant to start watching it but as many have said, it is so different from anything else on TV it is a nice change. The best way to describe it is as a serialized Broadway musical. I love the way modern references (language, etc.) are incorporated and yet it is still a "knight in shining (sort-of) armor" story. If you come to it expecting deep meaning, you'll be disappointed. But for light-hearted fun - it is great.

The issues that the show grapples with and illuminates in each episode are timely and significant. To say that this show deals with the dark side of technology and human nature is to make to simple of a comparison. I see the humanity of the characters and the dilemmas they are caught in clearly. Great writing, Great Acting, Great Series. Treat yourself and watch this. I really hope there are more seasons to come.

Huge disappointment. FX has such great shows: American Horror Story, The Americans, and Fargo I love. this show is just a clunky assortment of silly stereotypes. the brutal dictator, the oppressed people, the freedom fighting journalist, the bullying and spoiled first son, and lets not forget, most important, the 2nd son who has lived in America, and embraced American ideals who returns to set things right by just being himself. Yuck. Boring and trivial and insulting. As an aside, why (???) do all these Middle East citizens speak English when alone and not Arabic? Not even when the dictator is addressing his people. Silly and unrealistic. Boring, predictable, and tired show that deserves an early cancellation.
