On paper, the story of "Johnny Mnemonic" sounds quite interesting, as it features many cyberpunk tropes. This isn't surprising, considering William Gibson himself wrote the screenplay. The film also introduces many interesting ideas – the interconnectedness of humanity, the omnipotence of corporations, humanity as a commodity, the compulsion to consume, etc. Unfortunately, none of these ideas are developed. Instead, we watch Keanu Reeves in his pathetic attempts at acting and are delighted by the visually interesting production design. The world is rotten and littered; the privatization of everything apparently hasn't helped. But at the very latest when Keanu uses the predecessor of the Vision Pro and engages in a hacking duel(?), Ice T shows up in a carnival costume, and Dolph Lundgren crucifies some people to the wall with the words 'It's Jesus time!', it becomes clear that an interesting idea has been implemented absolutely poorly. There's never any momentum in the 90 minutes, and what little action there is is staged in a laughable manner. It's a damn miracle that just a few years later, with the same lead actor and a very similar premise, the Wachowskis were able to deliver a much better film in every respect. I'd rather watch "The Matrix" for the tenth time than subject myself to this crap ****, and there's a hacker dolphin. Just wanted to mention that.

An eye-opening tale of dolphins, room-service and all things jesus for any and all ages. Absolute cinema, would highly recommend.

Beautiful, moving and absurdly funny. Incredible. Absolute cinema. The acting… delectable. The dolphin… robotic. The room service… non-existent. This movie (and shouldI even call it a movie; it is an experience) perfectly captures what it’s like to live in the modern age of technology. Thank you and goodnight.

a movie for all fans of cyberpunk, this movie shows many concepts such as information war, ghetto, technology for example nano string, the movie is outdated but it was interesting to see the origins

Too campy to be taken seriously, but strangely also manages to be too serious to be a cult hit. Very interesting concepts plus a solid performance from Dolph, but the movie is a mess otherwise. Fun to think what could have been had Sony embraced the camp.

Johnny Mnemonic predicted long covid called NAS or Nerve Attenuation Syndrome. It gives people the shakes. Long covid and the vaccines are causing twitching and neurological issues because of the spike protein. This movie came out in 1995 just like 12 Monkeys. In the movie NAS is caused by technology or presumably 5G. Can you imagine if it's true and 5G is really what's making everyone sick? Maybe long covid has nothing to do with the spike protein and maybe it has to do with 5G. It's strange that Barbara Sukowa is in Johnny Mnemonic and in the 12 Monkeys TV Series. Also Keanu Reeves is in this movie, The Matrix and The Day the Earth Stood Still. It's Illuminati new world order predictive programming.

Yet another film that is spun around Keanu Reaves and all that he has to do is stand still with some lame ass pseudo martial arts poses. His biggest lines in the whole film is him taking a fit because he wanted a life with room service and expensive hookers... which of course held zero gravitas being surrounded by all of the have nots. The story was pretty basic and more of a mere premise without any real fleshed out characters nor sub plot .. pretty paint by the numbers film. Ice T is a fraud as an artist and a total cliche of himself as an actor. Not to mention making a total joke out of rap and renders whatever counter culture legitimacy it may have briefly held into an exploitable commodity.
