Hmm what to say about that polished turd of a film.
Children yelling at adults... check
Weak, ineffective white beta male.. check
Stupid racial agenda... check
Stupid evil white people.. check The invasion of the U.S. ( the hook) was a mere backdrop to deliver despicable dialog, woke propaganda ( the real point of the story) with incoherent moments of clarity (actual creativity escaped the cutting room floor)
It is almost like Hollywood is trying to break something to us that they are involved in making happen to our polite society.

Pretentious .. overwrought.. pointless.. ham fisted symbolism that was more confusing than symbolic. Feels like half of a film.. gawd I despise these artsy-fartsy abrupt endings from hell! I can hear their thought process,"aren't we clever! We made an abrupt ending! I hope it gets the attention at the Cannes film festival!"

Gawd awful, corny, monotonous, bizarre and clumsy use of song classics, anthropomorphizing the stupid beasts with human values and feelings.. HORRIBLE SCRIPT JUST PLAIN GARBAGE.. its sad that now, 3D and IMAX are now associated with what fulm companies anticiiate to be flops.

Yet another film that is spun around Keanu Reaves and all that he has to do is stand still with some lame ass pseudo martial arts poses. His biggest lines in the whole film is him taking a fit because he wanted a life with room service and expensive hookers... which of course held zero gravitas being surrounded by all of the have nots. The story was pretty basic and more of a mere premise without any real fleshed out characters nor sub plot .. pretty paint by the numbers film. Ice T is a fraud as an artist and a total cliche of himself as an actor. Not to mention making a total joke out of rap and renders whatever counter culture legitimacy it may have briefly held into an exploitable commodity.

At this point, I think that I am only going to watch R rated shows and film on Nutflux because anything PG, PG13, MAT, and such is really just code for," we are going to bombard your children with intersectional woke nonsense with really bad story writing and shallow special effects." This film is moody, introspective, intelligent and god forbid, shot from a male perspective. BLASPHEMY of the modern day. It has some real and authentic insights concerning what the main character is experiencing in his personal life concerning his own mortality and personal evolution. The story cleverly and judiciously uses special effects to illustrate a phenomenon rather than hitting you over the head with a CGI club. THAT in itself leaves certain misguided audiences to feel let down because they didn't get their CGI fix... as if that alone makes for good story telling. This film is just that and more... a very good story that was very well told.

Yet another example of how " professional critics" are so far out of touch with what is enjoyable and thoroughly entertaining to actual audiences. I am not going to pontificate much about it but I do find it hilarious when they say that is derivative of Aliens and or Predator when critics gush and **** themselves over absolute woke crap that has zero originality but checks all of their intersectional boxes. I think there was a lot more originality than there wasn't. Jim Caviezel is freakishly handsome which doesn't hurt and possesses an intelligent intensity that only adds to that sex appeal. Sophia Miles plays so well the strong, beautiful and fiercely intelligent woman that could make a gay man consider switching orientation for. That is a perfect example of what a strong woman actually looks like unlike the ridiculous gurl power spice **** of today who run around exposing their growlers and call it feminism. I love Predator and the Alien series and I thoroughly enjoyed this flick. The only drawback was it was done by the Weinstein corp.. yuck! I need to take a shower.

Another great premise and crappy follow through. The beginning is all very interesting and then ...... ?? It always comes down to bad writing, in the the decade and a half, this is the repeating pattern of Hollywood. Probably because Hollywood has become politicized to the point that it destroys all creativity just like what trying to appease chinese communist dictators does to creativity. The artistry in Hollywood has been completely gutted out of the industry. They just simply cannot make a decent film under all of the compromises made for the politically correct (communist chinese invention) injecting stupid intersectionality where there aren't any historically ( revisionist history) How many films have I seen foreigners, children who have no clue how the world works and females lecturing a castrated white male about politics that they have no hope in hell of understanding. And we say," oh! Isn't that Vietnamese character so sassy when she says," stupid maaan" then the politically correct converts snicker with smugness that somehow they have driven some progressive point home when in reality, they are living in a false reality.

It just goes to show you just how much Hollywood movies have changed so drastically since 2013.. I'm lapping this action film up like a starving man eating soup. Everything that is worth watching these days (2022) i never was an action film kind of guy but this film was pretty fast paced ( not shaking camera action) excellant performances from every single actor .. and witty witty witty . I find Denzel and Mark have really good on screen bro chemistry from the get go all the way through.

The Hollywood version of reality is getting so far out to sea that you can't even make anything out .. same goes for this waste of talent and craft to make a movie which has taken the "cause du jour" (cause of the day) and mascarade it an actual story.. but there isn't any real story here that we have not heard a MILLION times over and over preached to you by the very scumbags that actually live in that lifestyle. Hollywood! Get a clue! Real people get steamrolled by aviation producers because of profit margins! That is the real story not some poor alcoholic who pulls off a miracle and actually lands your piss poorly maintained aircraft that was designed in the 1960's.. so spare me your pro-corporate blame the pilot WHO HAPPENED TO LAND YOUR PIECE OF CRAP PLANE storyline bull caa caa.

And apparently molotov **** have the ability to catch steel plating on fire This movie was such an insult to the viewers intelligence that the writer/director/producer should be arrested for abusing of a theatre audience. Yes, it was that bad. Movies these days make the original Rambo series appear to be Shakespear.

Hmmmm I am surprised at how everyone despises this film but cannot get enough of woke garbage. It's confusing. I guess I am a strange bird because I really didn't like district 9 because I thought it was a pedantic morality play with aliens instead of apartheid suffering black Africans.. it was like duh! Prejudice = bad duh! Chappie was just frigging awful Hip Hop hell knock off of the short circuit trilogies And Elysium was another variation of the District9 morality play but with a space station this time. The only reason why I enjoyed it was because of the sci-fi premise that was derivative of the RingWorld novels by Larry Niven. I was disappointed that the film wasn't about the actual Ring space station but rather about yet another yellowish dessert dystopia.. YAWN! Neil finally comes up with something completely different and everybody hates it. WTF? The demonic film wasn't all that original in plot and relies waaaaay too heavily on the main character to do one stupid decision after another and another and another until you kinda just get annoyed.. however, it was EXTREMELY well done stylistically, involved some really fascinating concepts and was that CGI ?? Whatever.. it was really crystal clear, ultra high definition quality that was extremely well executed. The choice of actors was also unconventional and refreshingly UNHOLLWOOD like which is possibly why, I suspect, that the critics torpedoed the ratings. Anything that bucks the woke trend in TV and film these days appears to have a pox on it.

The Thing5

This THIRD film called The Thing is a prequel to the 1982 John Carpenter REMAKE of the original (1950'ish) It also does pretty well as a stand alone film as well. This prequel had a lot going for it but it felt as though some one has a vision for this film and lost contril of it.. because there is a jarring sensation when we lurch from good storytelling and atmosphere to then suddenly you find yourself in a generic treatment of shock and jump scares. The main difference between this prequel and John Carpenters remake is in one word,"ATMOSPHERE" John always had the best spooky soundtracks that created tension from opening credits to the end credits. The soundtrack from this prequel felt sooo generic that I barely took notice and loses all effect if the scenes that are illustrated with the sound score have all been done a thousand times by now and just makes the squeaky menacing strings cliché.

Glass smashing.. and the ridiculous ,"honour amongst warriors" is enough to make me vomit. Again, Keanu CAN'T ACT so he's going the Steven segall kind of career until he becomes obese like **** can't even deliver his two pages of corn dog lines convincingly.. even a body builder was able to act better than this guy in the terminator trilogy.

More of the same.. revenge porn unrealistic killing ballet of nonsense.. MONOTONOUS boring boring boring
What looked like cool with moments of oh wow! That was cool quickly gets really freaking old. All these skilled actors and dancers all performing AROUND Keanu who most of the time is just waiting for the supporting actors and choreographers to literally play INTO his waiting hands to pretend to be killed by him.. its ludicrous at this point. Keanu CAN'T ACT so the entire cast has to support this fact.. ugh!

John Wick3
Mar 23, 2022
REVENGE PORN is my summation of this film. I get the sensation of being emotionally manipulated to root for an ex mafia hit man when in reality, they are all despicable P.O.S.
Oh! They killed his puppy! Think for micro second.. John Wick probably did worse than that before he fell in love and left the crime world in order to live the good life from all of his ill begotten riches.
Coupled with absolutely no other true character development and for what of that there is, it takes a back seat to the non stop MATRIX LIKE hand to hand battle sequences that make up 95% of the film. Isn't that nice of Hollywood to develop a series of films where Keanu Reeves doesn't have to act and involves almost identical battle sequences using his skillset that he had previously learned for The Matrix trilogy.. hmmmm things that make you go hmmmm.... at least the matrix had an interesting and way more complex storyline to frame the action sequences in it. This film is extremely unsophisticated REVENGE PORN. How ever polished it may be.

This film shows its age a little bit (films are so over the top polished nowadays) but really can serve as an comparison to how things are now in 2022.. specifically how US intelligence agencies are portrayed. Snake eating its own tail .. my only pet peeve is how children are used in movies,(yet again).. used in the most causticly over sweetened fashion that makes you want to vomit for how saccarin they are used and portrayed.. the child actor had waaay too many speaking parts barf barf barf..

I'm worried that a zero would be deleted but MY GOD! What a terrible bunch of actors.. it feels completely fake as in actors behaving in uncharacteristic ways ... or unconvincingly ways.. I almost cannot quite put my finger on it but it is just weird and strange and somewhat not human like. The hiker (a young Elizabeth Warren doppelgänger) goes on a hike but is dressed for a day in a city park and appears to have absolutely zero gear, complete with yoga shorts. The rain in the beginning is the most fake looking rain that it almost look like crystals falling in one dimension without anything falling on the actress, her glasses nor on the notebook that she decides to pull out of her pack for no real apparent reason but to narrate why she is there in the first place .. punctuated by hugging an earn.. bizarre bizarre bizarre. I've never seen a collection of clichés and movie tropes crammed into the first 15 minutes of a film in my life. Bruce Willis should be embarrassed to be involved with this stinker. I blame the writers and whomever chose these ancillary actors that worked beside Bruce. They were all insipid, cloying and paper thin to the point of coming off alien-like. I swear if I see another child actor introduce its self by simply running to the nearest adult to hug the main actors leg one more time I'm going to scream. "PEOPLE DON'T ACT LIKE THAT! PEOPLE dont even look like that! She watch channel zero!" Flava-Flave from Public Enemy (before rap was co-opted by the machine)

I wonder why this film is so poorly rated. It was an excellent modern day mob drama told from a interesting perspective. It has a few flaws, one or two plot holes and was extremely graphically violent. Which is par for the course for films based on the mafia ... It's most likely because it had ZERO SJW and prepubescent sexuality propaganda in it is my guess.. people have no idea what good films are anymore. P.S.
Ever notice how MetaCritic is totally missing from search results now when searching on the web for reviews? My guess is that it's because there is so much audience participation here and the film industry HATES THAT.. so the search engines are intentionally trying to kill this site.

What a waste of some stellar acting talent and a really good premise. It's a bizarre mix of one of those cutsie '80's type films where the whole film revolves around a child actor while the whole adult world in that film contorts itself to pander to a child's understanding of the world.. and a serious who dunnit? Like I said, a bizarre **** child that I'm referring to is the defence lawyer.. ... it's like she just wakes up all of a sudden in a court room one day and has to defend a client.. the duh and dead blank stares and complete lack of understanding of how a court room actually operates is waay too far a leap of faith or suspension of belief to make any sense at all of this incredibly badly written script. And I love Tyler Perry films to begin with so don't assume my reasonings.. and yeah, it is worth noting that the town that this was supposed to take place at sure has a disproportionate amount of actors from a certain race BUT I come to expect Tyler Perry to represent and promote black actors, actresses and communities. One fellow on this site made a racial slur/reference (of which I haven't found a way to report) calling it planet of the apes. From one white person to another, hey! Did you ever think that, what you were feeling about the racial ratio represented in the film is exactly what black Americans have been complaining about Hollywood under-representing the black community for like.. forever. This is how it must feel to them. Like it or not, you just put yourself in someone else's shoes without the epiphany.

Finally I get to give a positive review about something! I don't understand why this movie has such lacklustre reviews. It had a smidge of corn ball but nothing compared to the terminator movies. It wasn't predictable at all, creature features were original and their methods somewhat graphic to good effect .. I absolutely adored the Martial arts fighting brother and sister that we meet halfway through.. absolutely bad ass. Great catch phrases like, everything burns, effing Americans and finally effing Aliens were well delivered and not overdone. The child aspect was not trite, sacrine nor overly cliched like every dang show in media lately. Not once did we have to sit through the, mommy, mommy, mommy repeated at us like Hollywood usually does. The kid was for the most part, silent which was refreshing to say the least because we all know how Hollywood likes using children as sock puppets to preach to the adults in a film to promote whatever schlock their peddling, usually ultra liberal caa caa. Not to mention what Jean Claud Van Dam made a child actress say about the size of his wang for one of his films... ugh! OMIGOD! That was sickening. Yeah there was some basic tropes in it but never once did the film dwell in any of them.. they used the tropes to push the story forward and then abandoned them like the cheap ";:;'s" that they are. Tee hee. I genuinely liked this movie a lot, not Shakespeare but a good, original alien action flick that was totally enjoyable to watch. So I'm intentionally rating this a smidge higher than I normally would because of what I perceive to be unwarranted disapproval. Definitely give this film a shot if you like the genre.. if you don't like the genre then don't bother and why rate it if you don't anyhow.

The Midnight Sky2

Unfortunately, this film was just a vehicle for, yet again, Hollywoods insistance that everyone needs to be lectured from them under the guise of entertainment. Bi-racial couples, check. Simplistic understanding and explanations of complex environmental upheaval, check. Aging white mâle professor, mournful and accepting responsibility on behalf of the entire human races tendency to destroy our eco systems... responsibility accepted on behalf of all white males. Of course I'm reading into the subtext because it appears that THAT is all that's left to read these days. Gone are the days of watching movies for entertainment... no no no we can't have actual stories interfering with Hollywoods supreme role as school marm of the blatantly Obvious.

Nov 27, 2020
Incredibly predictable movie complete with Hollywood version of annoying, cloying little girl pleading to the better nature of the murderous beast.. barf
The only thing good about it and what I suspect is why the critics disliked it, is that the extreme leftist globalist terrorist gets defeated and gets his comeuppance . Funny how I'm beginning to see a pattern if when there is a huge disparity between what critics think is so wonderful and what the actual public despises. Just look at the Cuties reviews and that should tell you all you need to know. It was a terrible movie in spite of all of the wasted talent on the screen. Ryan Reynolds did well to die early in this polished turd of a movie. Critics are really showing how politicized their reviews have become. It's a wonder that anyone listens to them anymore because all they are in present day is an extension of the public relations arm of Chinese Communist China and the cowering sycophants of Hollywood.

Triple Frontier3
Nov 25, 2020
This is one of those films that leave you frustrated and yelling at the screen because of the stupid stupid stupid decisions that were obviously only injected into the story as plot devices. It is established early on that these comrades are supposed to be the best of the best but then at a crucial point, make the most rookiest of mistakes that insults the intelligence of the viewer. Overall, an extremely depressing movie, which seems to only exist in order to pass not so subtle moral commentary which is banal in nature and a rehash of observations that was better communicated in other films in a much better way. Not to mention a ridiculous," I too am Spartacus moment at the end which rendered everything that they sacrificed for null and void. Boooooo!!!!

Light of My Life3
Jan 1, 2020
It's been awhile since I've reviewed so I have a backlog to tend to. Light of my life is one of those well intentioned movies that hit all of the hallmarks that make artsy fartsy movie goers froth at the mouth and genuflect to the gods of their own self importance. Now don't get me wrong, I love a genuinely well made repertoire styled film. However, this film feels as though it's trying so very hard to be one and yet without any real substance. Some things that bugged me about the film are such; Casey Aflecks voice when speaking with his child, usually at night or in close quarters for the majority of the film really begins to grate on ones nerves. The other thing is the subtext. Men are bad and the world would descend into chaos without women in our society. After a while. I began challenging this premise in my mind as I was watching it.I think about logging towns, mining towns and ships out to sea for extended periods of time and how the rule of law isn't destroyed because of the lack of the opposite sex. The other factor is how everyone appears to be on government food handouts and jobless which really doesn't make any sense at all. As if the whole economy, workforce and rule of law suddenly all breaks down (even after 7 years??) because of the sudden loss of the majority of the female population. That's about as thought provoking as this film gets to me. The rest is a slow as molasses exercise in repetition and futility. I gained zero insights and found that the story really had nothing else to say. I'm creating a score of my own for level of propaganda in each show.. Light of My Life gets a 2 out of 10 for perpetuating the current dogma that men are bad. 10 being the most egregious levels of propaganda.

Hardly seems worth writing a review after seeing all of the negative ratings. It was an awful mess. James Franco playing a villain with fuzzy orange teeth that he moons for the camera while, laughing menacingly, unconvincingly. It's almost like I could read his thoughts, did you see my yucky teeth? I'm a real bad guy huh? Completely disjointed scenes. Nothing made any sense at all.. Lucy Lieu looks like shes is permanently stuck in a shampoo commercial with long flowing linens perpetually blowing in the wind that never ends. That was supposed to be the Oasis.. funny how they don't need any roofs or protection from the elements in the Oasis. This is a good opportunity for me to rant a little about how in movies now, it doesn't seem to matter if nuclear bombs have gone off all over the ****'s almost as though the subliminal message is that we shouldn't worry about radiation, nuclear fallout and the destruction of the worlds food web. Even if some plants still grow, everyone would be poisoned in two months from eating them if not sooner.Global nuclear war is not survivable and I wish that the media would stop creating the illusion that it is. Of course the obligatory lesbian scene to titillate heterosexual men... don't be thinking for a second that it has to do with acceptance from society... The hypocrisy of it all is maddening. Just look at what a big to do it is now that Chris Pine went full frontal recently in the Rebel King film. I watched that film not even noticing that there was a reveal in there somewhere. I had to look it up on the internet to find where it was in the film then paused on the scene in question, and couldn't make heads or tails of the images. Pun intended. Seriously though,he was splashing up the water in front of himself so if it was there, it was a flash in the pan. The media all congratulates themselves on being so progressive when in reality they are still catering to hetero sexual men.Forget about the **** on Bikes stereotype. Altered Carbon has a male full frontal scene that doesn't flinch at all. I was like hello.. that wasn't expected. I allowed myself to go a little off topic here because I didn't see the need to reinvent the wheel when so many others have done a fine job destroying this terrible terrible indulgence of a film. Suffice it to say, the only good acting was by Milla Jovovich and Jeffery Wahlberg.

God Knows Where I Am9
Oct 29, 2018
What an absolutely brilliant documentary style film. The visuals, the narrator speaking the words written in the journals that the deceased left behind, the interviews with family members, mental health Doctors and people closely related to the discovery of her corpse ... I'm just in awe at how well so many facets of the story was portrayed. So many different perspectives of how this woman, suffering from mental illness, weaved throughout their lives and how helpless they all were to prevent her demise from occurring. People often speak of mental illness and some of the harm that is done to others or themselves as,"evil" which is a huge oversimplification of something that plagues all of humanity in very personal ways. This film does an amazing credit and shines a spotlight on the complexity and the very human face of mental illness. Mental illness,in my opinion is an even bigger crisis than the opioid crisis because Globally and in our own society, we still ignore it in all of it's manifestations. We relegate it to someone being evil,(the religious interpretation which also includes the idea of demonic possession), laziness, (often ascribed to people who are homeless) or in the higher functioning branches of the diseases, emotionally absent alpha males.(which often times is held up as an example of how to be a success in the corporate world). This film doesn't preach to you but simply tells the story and leaves you to ponder the more profound questions that it provokes.

Jeepers Creepers 38
May 23, 2018
I was pleasantly surprised and terrified by the original installation, slightly disappointed with the second because they chose to reveal more of the creature which is always less scary than what one can imagine. This third installation showed way more of the creature and I was sure that it was going to **** as a result but the director did an absolute amazing job of creating a creature that can actually be terrifying in broad daylight. Not a small feat. The cinematic visuals were crisp and clear and full of texture. When you weren't so engaged with what was happening in the moment you had a visual feast for your eyes to savor in those moments but almost as if the director could read your mind, didn't let those moments linger for very long before he forcefully grabs your attention once again. The choice of actors was also quite interesting for some of their interesting physical attributes and acting abilities. I have to commend the director for attempting and succeeding in making a truly scary film that takes place for the most part in broad daylight. In my opinion, Jeepers Creepers 3 is better than the second one.

The Killing of a Sacred Deer3
May 23, 2018
I can see why the majority of viewers of this film do not know how to rate this **** my opinion, the director aspires to be Kubrick-esk but unfortunately is more akin to pretentiousness. Kubrick balances cinematic minimalism with engaging characters and above all visual genius. This film is simply hollow, empty, devoid of any realistic human reactions and the most unlikable characters **** stoic,robot-like behavior of every single character was probably intended to create a sense of being in a surrealistic space and time but ultimately doesn't pay off and winds up giving one the impression that the director discovered dads box of tools, not knowing how to use them, creates a six ton rocking chair made out of 2X4's. The most bizarre device that was used was to have one of the characters blurt out the whole plot early on in the film. I imagine that was to create a sense of fate and doom but left me thinking,"well they obviously aren't going to follow that narrative because that would be basically like someone spoiling the plot details. (the people that we hate watching movies with)Unfortunately, that's exactly how it plays out, point to point. There was no deviation whatsoever. I'm not surprised that I read that this movie opened at a film festival because that creates a pretense that if you think the film to be incredibly stupid then, you are simply,"not getting it". As a result, those who are overly concerned about what others think, are cowed into pretending that you liked it so that you don't appear unsophisticated. What a perfect formula for the the times that we are in today. If a person parts from the current,"group-think" concerning the use of identity politics and virtue signalling then you are silenced and shamed. In two words... PRETENTIOUS DRIVEL.
