Took me a while to get into the theme, and to get on the side of the 'protagonists'. Felt that they were 'over the top' from the beginning. Only to realise that this was intended by Tarantino. The mockery of the American Hero and the tunnel visioned crowed blindly cheering is an intelligent touch in a captivating and neatly crafted movie.

The movie is good, but the subject just doesn't interest me. If you enjoy World War II-themed movies, you'll probably think it's great. But for me, it's only a 5/10.

Hans Landa The movie is good and has an interesting plot that focuses on a single event-the film premiere. What I liked most was the performance of the main villain; it's one of the best I've ever seen, and even if it sounds controversial, in my opinion it stands out more than the movie itself. Hans Landa is outstanding, truly one of the best characters I've seen. I feel that if the movie had let him come out on top, I would've liked it even more. Another thing I appreciated was some of the small details, although it's a bit of a love-hate situation. For example, the famous "three fingers" scene didn't feel entirely convincing to me. I also liked the detail that the Basterds aren't your typical elite squad-they're more like lucky misfits who managed to carry out their plan, but in a very different way than intended since they were discovered almost immediately. I like how it reflects a bit of reality, showing how hard it is to predict what will actually happen. Some things that didn't fully convince me were the scenes with Shosanna and Frederick; they felt a bit like extra or filler. I also didn't like that Hans didn't thoroughly investigate Shosanna's background and the cinema. Another minor issue for me was the bar scene-it felt a bit too long, especially considering the characters involved weren't that important in the end, and their outcome didn't seem to add much to the overall story. And I wasn't a fan of the scar on Hans's forehead-I think it could've been left as more of a draw between the two main characters. As for the setting, soundtrack, set design, and the endless attention to detail, everything is excellent, as is usual in this director's films. In summary, it's a very good and highly recommended movie. In the end, this is just my opinion-coming from someone who really liked the character of Hans Landa and prioritized him from the beginning.

This is probably Tarantino's second least "Tarantinoesque" movie. It's a pretty entertaining movie, but it doesn't really tackle any of the real horrors of WW2, it paints a sort of alternate retelling of history. Like most Tarantino movies, its a solid 7/10.

This movie is one of the best I've ever seen, and let's just say, you would have to be **** for this movie not to be impressively engaging.

Easily Mr Tarantino's best work since Jackie Brown it is a **** the references are there but they do not interfere with the story, they are not the driving force. Yes Eli Roth is stunt casting but he works fine, with little to do but look aggressive, and does nothing to hurt the film as i had feared. While i admired Mr Tarantino for using stuntwoman Zoe Bell as herself in Death Proof in order to amp-up the exhilaration of the major stunt scene her lack of any acting ability in a key role was a problem for the film. The same could be said of Tarantino's own appearances in several films, especially Robert Rodriguez's From Dusk Till Dawn, which Tarantino wrote.What really makes this work is how BIG it is. The spaghetti western vibe to much of the style, dialogue and performances is wonderfully over the top without descending too far into the cartoon quality of Kill Bill. The violence is so big. The audacity so big. Brad Pitt is so big! In the trailers the **** moment and Pitt's performance bothered me but in the context of the film they are hilarious. Pitt is actually brilliant here, exactly what he needs to be. He is Mifune's blustering samurai in Yojimbo, he is Robards Cheyenne from Once Upon a Time in the West, there is a very James Coburn vibe to him, and of course a suitably Lee Marvin edge.Christoph Waltz (who i did not previously known) and Melanie Laurent (who i first noticed in a brilliant French-language British short film by Sean Ellis) are sensational and i expect to see both used a lot more in the future. Tarantino has clearly not lost his eye for casting, which seemed to desert him in Death Proof. Waltz is equally large in his performance. Chilling, yet theatrical. He is Fonda from OUATITW, Van Cleef from Good, The Bad & the Ugly. And Laurent is suitably Cardinale innocence but tough, a fighter. They both dazzle here.

Inglourious Basterds is a film that stands out from the very first minute because of its strong story and Quentin Tarantino’s unique style. The plot is exciting and keeps you interested all the time, mixing tension, dark humor, and a bold re-imagining of history. The characters are very well written, each one with a strong presence and scenes that stay in your mind. The movie connects its different storylines in a great way, with a good balance of dialogue, action, and style.I enjoyed it a lot and I think it is an excellent film, but I would have liked the ending to be different. Even so, it is still a creative, intense, and original movie that gives you a great cinema experience.

First of all, I loved the direction, cinematography, and editing. Christoph Waltz, as Hans Landa, gives an incredible performance; He steals every scene and is easily one of the best villains I’ve seen in any film. The dialogues are very well written. Tarantino’s direction and camera work make every shot look amazing and give the film a distinct cinematic feel. Some scenes are exceptionally well shot and directed. For example, the “Jew-hunting” sequence, the basement climax, and others. At times, the story feels a bit uneven, but it doesn’t spoil the fun. Overall, Inglourious Basterds is a movie I’d recommend to anyone who loves thrilling stories and strong characters.

Recently,y I've been interested in Tarantino Films after watching Django, so I checked this one out, and it seems this Tarantino Fellow is quite the Talent. I like this film and would happily watch it again, not just because of the German and WW2 Elements, but because it is quite enjoyable to break down the film and notice things, and enjoy the plot and acting from scene to scene. Tarantino doesn't waste time during the film; however, he does near the end. That's what I've noticed. 9/10, Damn Good Film.

An alternate history war film, Inglourious Basterds would be an average Holocaust movie if it wasn't for Christoph Waltz's performance.

I unfortunately had high expectations as it is a Tarantino movie, while the comedy aspect of the film is satisfying, the plot feels unimpassioned.

Honestly, perhaps my favorite film of all time, the cinematography in this is FANTASTIC, this film has such beautiful takes that they could easily go down in cinema history, Hans Landa is one of the best villains I've ever seen, the tension when this guy enters the scene is absurd, the viscerality and raw nature of this film is impeccable.

I most certainly enjoyed it as it was an absolute nut case of a film with a lot of unrestrained strings attached with all the violence but also adding a lot of specialties to the table.

With a star-studded cast and a story brimming with fantasy, each chapter of Inglourious Basterds is packed with tension. The film encapsulates nearly every hallmark associated with Quentin Tarantino's signature style.

Tarantino, as always, makes excellent films, and Inglourious Basterds certainly ranks high in the ranking of best films. The film contains very striking and intelligent scenes, Tarantino was a genius when writing this film. And I must praise Christoph Waltz's performance, simply sensational!

I don't think Inglourious Basterds can be properly appreciated without first knowing how it ends. Personally, I left the theater disappointed upon my first viewing; like I'd been the butt of an enormous joke, with Quentin Tarantino taking full advantage of the kind of notoriety and clout he'd accumulated over the years to cash in on an intentional stink bomb. Now, a few years removed from the experience, I've given it another shot and feel an entirely different look on my face. This is a magnificent film, dedicated to building up one impossible situation after the next; two full hours dedicated to stacking the dynamite. The implication, of course, is that Tarantino will find a way to write himself out of a jam... and I suppose he does, just not in a way that anyone expected. It's an impervious blend of the writer/director's notoriously sharp-witted dialogue, his ADHD-influenced lack of focus and a deep yearning to lead his audience into a false sense of security before dumping cold water over their heads. Brad Pitt has the time of his life as the braggadocios war hero stereotype with an awful accent, but Christoph Waltz steals the show as a giddy turncoat **** sleuth. Basterds is a stroke of brilliance, weaving three distinctly different movies into one spectacular cinematic quilt. Where my initial impressions of the "did they just do that" climax were of shock and disdain, time and reflection have transformed it into one of my favorite scenes. Ballsy, bright and bombastic, it deserves a spot alongside the director's classics.

Inglourious Basterds is an absolutely amazing movie with comedy and drama at the same time. At first it was weird to laugh at a movie about ****, but I got used to it by the end. The story is amazing, some of the characters are the best I've ever seen. I loved the protagonists, especially in the theater storyline, but my favourite character is Hans Landa, because he is a perfect antagonist and I love Christoph Waltz. The movie also managed to surprise me, with the ending, which was awesome. The directing, acting, editing and cinematography was awesome, because the tension was utterly high in a few scenes and that was incredible. The acting performances were all amazing. I really liked Mélanie Laurent, Diane Kruger, Daniel Brühl and of course Brad Pitt, but my favourite was definitely given by Christoph Waltz. Performance of a lifetime. Inglourious **** was weird at first, but by the end I began to love this movie.

Formidable movie, which truly still feels like a work of art and is very well made, even though a rather unhistorical interpretation of WWII. Some of the performances are remarkable, especially Christoph Waltz as Hans Landa.

Dieser Film ist einfach genial. Sei es das Schauspiel, die Kulissen, der Einsatz von Musik oder die Handlung. Ich würde sagen das dieser Film keinerlei Schwächen hat. So viele Szenen sind mir im Gedächtnis geblieben. Der Anfang, angelehnt an klassische Western was Kameraführung, Kulisse und Inszenierung betrifft ist meisterhaft. Oberst Landa gespielt von Christoph Waltz bis da noch ein relativ unbekannter Schauspieler, liefert eine unglaubliche Performance ab. Man könnte einen Drei Stunden Vortrag über diese Figur des Oberst Landa halten obwohl er nur eine Screen Time von vielleicht 30 Minuten hat. Christoph Waltz frisst mit seinem Schauspiel die Szenen auf und spielt seine Schauspielkollegen in den Schatten. Die Handlung simpel, eine Rachestory mit einem Hauch von Spionagefilm. So interessant erzählt das man durchweg am Ball bleibt und ein Tarantino Finale was wieder völlig ausufert, im positiven Sinn. Ich hätte nicht gedacht das man eine Szene wo zwei Leute Apfelstrudel essen, spannend gestalten könnte. Dieser Film hat mir das Gegenteil bewiesen. Eine der besten Szenen der Filmgeschichte, meiner Meinung nach. Ich mache hier jetzt mal Schluss. Schaut diesen Film!!!!!

Really nice movie made by Tarantino. The characters are interesting, acting is well done, just the story is not completely overwhelming.

It was an obvious choice for me, as I like the theme of war and **** in movies, so I really enjoyed it. Although I liked it a lot, I think it's probably not for everyone. The ending was really cool, but by the time we get to it, we have long hours of talking that, while I wasn't bored, probably won't be to everyone's taste. However, the film appealed to me, so I was entertained the whole time, and I'm not some Tarantino fan. I like his films, but I don't buy them as much as others and the likes of Pulp Fiction are overrated in my opinion. Purely my opinion. Otherwise, nothing against it. I'm going somewhere else. Anyway, I was entertained from start to finish, probably mostly because of the setting of the time period, because I enjoy the war period in film, so it appealed to me. For me, a great film that I would recommend to fans of war themes, but especially to Tarantino fans.

Very nice film that manages to entertain for its entire duration without ever getting tired and without ever being banal or obvious.

As soon as the following "chapter" started, it was clear that the rest of the film would fall short of its promising start. You have to start to wonder if two different production teams were working on the same film as it alternates between being painfully dull and ridiculously Hollywood. Only a later sequence involving German soldiers and undercover English operatives comes close to reaching the initial level, and even that is significantly marred by a very brief flashback with excessive electric guitar playing.

This movie is a masterclass in suspense and tension. Best movie of 2009 hands down, and Tarantino's best film since Pulp Fiction. What a movie.

With a great villainous and debut performance from Christoph Waltz and all about killing ****, it would be why this movie deserves it's great following by critics and audiences.

Another simple WWII europe movie with stupid characters, only the first chapter is good, the rest is european, jewish, french, peasant, n word, spanish rubbish. Hans Landa is the only well-done character who rescues the movie, which is a total mess. I reaffirm that only the first 21 minutes are the real movie and the rest is a tarantino vomit that he filmed and published.

This is such a great movie! Christoph Waltz is unbelievably good in the role of Landa. The audiences applaused in the end and I enjoyed every single minute of this masterpiece.

This is not my favourite Tarantino movie. Directing here is not at his usual levels and everytime I watch it i feel like this is a movie that tries to be funny but it doesn't succeed in its intent.

My favourite Quentin Tarantino movie. It has a great cast, really dark humour and the story is nearly perfectly interwoven with the characters to create a memorable experience. It is a war movie set in World War 2 but pretty unique in this regard. I promise you a refreshing and enjoyable movie unlike all you expect. Story: There are multiple arcs that connect. There is Shosanna who hides her Jewish heritage to survive **** occupation in Paris and wants revenge for her family. There is lieutenant Aldo Rains called the Apache and his Basterds who are a Jewish-American commando unit behind enemies lines. He demands 100 **** scalps from everyone of his man and they strike fear into all their enemies with this. There is Frederick Zoller a German sniper who became famed for his incredible last stand against the allied soldiers. Finally there is Hans Landa an SS officer who enjoys what he is doing and is as smart as cunning. Together their stories create a great overall experience. I truly enjoyed the story. It is told in chapters and I like the style in telling smaller stories that accumulate into a great final. It was excellent from start to finish and rarely were we this impressed by a movie. Simply the best work of Quentin Tarantino. Actors: This is the other great strength of the movie. They have such a great cast that enjoys their roles and director Quentin Tarantino gets the best out of them. Lets start with Brad Pitt as Aldo Raine. He is such a rascal, charming and devilish while also being a father for his man. A fantastic performance. I continue with Christopher Waltz who rightfully won the Oscar for his role as Hans Landa. He is amazingly good and owns each scene he is in. A magnificent bastard. I must praise Melanie Laurent as Shosanna Dreyfus. Such a great performance and sadly she is not rewarded enough. Then there are the Basterds who are amazing too with Eli Roth as Donny Donowitz nicknamed as the Bear Jew, Til Schweiger as Hugo Stiglitz whose talent is trained by the Basterds or Benjamin Novak as Smithson Utvich (Little Man) to just name a view. I think Daniel Brühl as Fredreick Zoller and Diane Kruger as Brigit von Hammersack round up the great performance. I must point out that I do not find a weak performance in the movie. Only a few movies do such a great job in combining the characters so good into the story. Director. I already praised Quentin Tarantino and say it is his best work so far. Visuals / soundtrack: Everything in the movie looks authentic and believable. Again I do not know how historical accurate this is but it does not matter in an entertainment movie. The style is convincing and immersive. The soundtrack uses a lot of tracks from the legend Ennio Morricone. This works well and enhances the movie. Also there are tracks from David Bowie, Zarah Leander and other bigger names. A truly good soundtrack and Oscar worthy for me even if he lost at the awards. Lastly I want to praise the (dark) humour in this. There are many mean situations that are entertaining. Overall this is an excellent movie and so enjoyable to watch. In my circle of friends it is regarded as best movie from Quentin Tarantino. An easy must see recommendation for me. Bonus knowledge (Can be a spoiler for some): The difference in showing the number 3 is true and would immediately be noticed by any German. I do however not know why it is different.

Inglourious Basterds isn't Quentin Tarantino's best movie, but it's definitely his most enjoyable one. Though the film is set in France during the Second World War, it isn't concerned at all with historical accuracy. Instead, it's concerned with a squad of Jewish American soldiers (and a French Jewish woman), who are both on a mission to take out the German high command. The movie is wildly entertaining, sometimes serious, often humorous, but never boring. The violent action sequences will keep you entertained, as well as the scenes of riveting dialogue. The performances are stellar, in particular Christoph Waltz as Colonel Landa. This movie may not be for everyone, but it is definitely a must-watch if you're a fan of Q.T.

Dialogue to perfection, you cant watch a scene without getting invested in the conversation. Yet another Tarantino smash hit. Actors all doing there part, Christoph Waltz taking the cake for best performance for sure not to say the rest didn't do just as well, Fassbender coming in second. Overall if your looking for a fictional tale with great characters and storyline of the holocost timeline this is the movie for you.
