Even in a genre that’s long indulged in excessiveness, this is the ruthless over-the-top carnage aficionados covet.

Havoc is a frenetic action movie with tons of in-your-face violence and it’s kind of fun to watch — the carnage is so exaggerated that it becomes cartoonish.

Great violence, great pacing, everything is perfect (except a few bad CGI city scenes that plague this decade of movies). Easily in my top 1% movie.

Smashing film. I think the public perception of action has been marvelised -or they think John Wick is peak action -- it's not. It's second screen action. Action of no consequence - he fell four storeys and walked away in the last film... So please - don't talk about realism. This film is gritty, nasty and has a heightened reality - the guns are loud, the squbs are loaded and bullets are never ending -- no it's not realistic - but it's impactful, not glorified. The Story is fine - all the threads tie together... It's not unoriginal but it's original in its delivery. This is from the dude that brought you the Raid, and the Raid is up there with police story, for action. It's as if John Woo came into my living room and punched me in the face... AndI like it!

Evans at least provides enjoyable pandemonium in Havoc, which is not a perfect film by any means, but certainly more worthy than some of the Netflix originals that aren’t delayed and are delivered at your streaming front door immediately.

The movie leaps to life whenever the bullets start flying. It's the generic gangland stuff in between that's not up to snuff, even with Hardy lending his trusty gruffness to the haunted-cop boilerplate.

If the rest of it had been as driven by such a ferocious sense of purpose as its final act, Havoc would be one of the finest action movies of the decade so far.

Evans is a film-maker with an instinctive understanding of frame space (The Raid is a joyful camera ballet), but he seems constrained here. As a screenwriter he leaves no cliché unloved.

Even those who admired the “Raid” films for their style and heedlessness might find this to be little more than an accumulation of action movie cliches that they have seen enacted to much greater effect in other and certainly better films.

Absolutely amazing. First, it's not the Raid/Raid 2, and it doesn't involve martial arts to any large degree. It's a very simple cop story with a focus on visuals and action. The gun work is really top notch. Evans has really stepped up his visuals game and it shows throughout the movie. I gave this a 10 b/c it was entertaining and I could watch it with other people, not being surprised with some type of political agenda. Great work cast and crew!

Havoc has basic story and characters, but insane camera work. The story is predictable, but it has some likeable characters. They are also stereotypical, but I really liked Ellie, while Lawrence and Walker are pretty good too. The dialogues aren't quotable or anything, but I loved the ending and the last piece of dialogue. The directing is mixed, but I liked it mostly. The emotional scenes didn't work for me, but the emphasis was on action, which was phenomenal. The cinematography has good lighting, great framing and insane camera movement. The editing is good, especially the action stuff. On the other hand CGI is overused in my opinion. They wanted to do some insane shots, which would've been incredibly hard to do practically, so I understand why they used it, but it was very apparent. The cast is good and the acting sells the stakes. Havoc is mixed for me, if the emotional part of it worked more, I would've really liked this one.

Havoc (2025) is a gritty, high-octane action thriller that delivers where it counts—explosive fight choreography, relentless pacing, and Tom Hardy’s commanding presence. Director Gareth Evans creates a visually charged world full of chaos and corruption, but the film stumbles with a thin, predictable plot and underdeveloped characters. While action fans will find plenty to enjoy, those seeking emotional depth or narrative innovation may be left cold. A solid yet flawed ride that puts spectacle first.

Havoc sounded like it was going to be this gritty, high-energy action ride, but it ended up being weirdly boring. The pacing drags, the plot is all over the place, and even the fights — which should’ve been the highlight — feel repetitive after a while. I kept waiting for it to kick into gear, but it never really did.Overall, it’s an easy 3/10 — slow, messy, and nowhere near as exciting as it should’ve been.

Wow what a poor film! Whilst the action sequences are quite good, overall it's almost terrible! It's like some low budget film that was made for going straight to in-flight movie, for especially long-haul flights, like when you've seen every other film! Goodness knows what these actors were thinking, signing up for this! Ah well, at least I'll never have to watch it again!
