It's fast-moving, it's got fine special effects, the hero and heroine are pure and quick-thinking, the bad people die badly, and the script draws its fair share of laughs.

The movie's chief crime against the planet, other than the sheer wastage of time, is the trivializing of the great Freeman. This actor has such dignity and depth and humanity, he almost makes the film watchable.

Original et spectaculaire mais aussi fort bien filmé : les films d’action de cet acabit se font rare et forcément, ça date un peu (déjà !). Il faut remonter aux années 80 pour trouver d’aussi bons équivalents, car depuis la mode Michael Bay, la trilogie « dans la peau » et autres daubes adeptes du cut & move, on n’a plus que de la merde. Tout cela est très bien ficelé donc, avec deux acteurs éminemment sympathiques qui ne tirent jamais la couverture à eux mais au contraire servent admirablement le film. Evidemment, les rebondissements tirés par les cheveux attestent d’un manque de rigueur côté scénario mais que diable, cela reste un divertissement (c’est souvent assez marrant d’ailleurs, involontairement ou pas…) d’un bon niveau et le tout bien entendu, sans aucun temps mort !

It ticks all the right boxes for an action movie but it feels lacking in depth and slightly underwhelming in tone. It is enjoyable for around 30 mins then it becomes lame. The simplest description for this film is it is a mainstream film aiming to please all but ultimatel lacking in cinematic substance. It is certainly made for simple minds yet simple films are usually the most effective. This however is not very effective which is where my point lies. 55/100
