Featuring the usual fractured visuals, generic victims and pinballing cameras — both hand-held and mounted on bike helmets — Exists nevertheless has an unusually dreamy opening and a few surprisingly entertaining tweaks.

Convincing shaky cam or not, in the end all we’re left with is what we started with, just another bigfoot movie.

I honestly did not expect to like this movie but it delivers. The music, editing and breakneck pace was great—even forward-thinking from a technical perspective. Sure, the horror movie characters were a little stock, but the cast makes the most of it. If you can accept Sanchez's found footage approach, you're in for a well crafted and often jolting scare-fest.

Let's say that I was expecting something **** acting is not bad and there is some action in the **** characters are stereotypical and the movie was predictable but it was "fun" to watch.

In the wake of Bobcat Goldthwait's Wolf Creek, Exists's metaphorical ambitions are as under-realized as its story-circumscribing use of found footage.

The creature’s big reveal is masterfully handled and a final revelation is exceptionally memorable, but the characters, unsurprisingly, remain interchangeable with those of any number of other teens-in-peril pics.

Against all good sense, Exists plays its material straight, possibly proving itself the year's most laughably derivative and dreary film.

Just because a movie can exist doesn’t mean it should.

Bereft of interesting characters, clever dialogue and any semblance of humor or visual coherence, Exists offers nothing to justify its cinematic existence.

After reading a bit about this on UHM, I decided to give it a try. I even was excited to have a look, since recently Big Foot seems to be a theme of choice in horror. And it's a really bad choice. If I have to go off from here - Big Foot isn't scary. He is intriguing, but not really scary. "The Lost Coast" tapes did it best, but that movie offered an interesting spin, while movies like "Exists" simply fall short from the begging, for simple reasons - they are neither scary, nor intriguing. "Exists" is directed by Eduardo Sanchez, most famous for his work on the original "Blair Witch Project", and yes - it's a found footage horror. It's quite clear that he uses the same style of shooting, but the genre has much evolved since "Blair Witch". Some people say that "Exists" is Sanchez' comeback. I say it's testament to the evolution of FFH. I found the main flaws of the movie to be that it's predictable and that it has no build up. A good example would be the first minutes of the flick - they basically explain everything that is to come, and prove the lack of real build up. This movie is not worth the time to watch, neither is it worthy of a full written review. It's badly shot, the story has been done before, even in animated series, the acting is mediocre at best... and it's simply a bad movie. I don't recommend this - not to Blair Witch enthusiast, neither to Big Foot trackers, neither to horror fans. If you are looking for background horror noise while you do housework - yeah. Probably then I'd recommend it.
