Cruella delivers a visually stunning, 70s punk-rock origin story that attempts to humanize one of Disney’s most iconic villains. The film’s greatest strength is the magnetic dynamic between Emma Stone and Emma Thompson, whose stellar performances elevate the movie. Director Craig Gillespie crafts a breathtaking visual feast, boasting flawless costume design, makeup, and dynamic cinematography that perfectly match the extravagant world of high fashion. However, beneath the dazzling aesthetics, the script reveals loose threads. The movie suffers from a bloated runtime and pacing issues, while the constant soundtrack needle-drops often make it feel like a music video. Furthermore, Disney plays it too safe by sanitizing Cruella into a misunderstood anti-hero, resulting in a highly predictable plot. Despite its narrative flaws, the film remains a highly entertaining, stylish spectacle worth watching purely for its powerhouse lead actresses.

"Cruella" is amazing! All the plot involving who is Cruella and her backstory is pretty terrific! All the art, specially on the part of fashion is really well made, the villain is decent and such as the other characters.

I liked the movie very much. The story, the fashion, Cruella and especially Baroness. I liked the drama, the tension, and how the movie is decent without anything sexual, a little bit flamboyant and fictional.

It's boring and it doesn't connect to its sequel, it just pretends. Special mention to those horrible pitbulls with cow skin.

Now I don't hate this movie and I love that Emma Stone is playing this character I think she did a really good job overall and even Emma Thompson (ironic that there both name emma) but I wished we got a more smarter and risky type of story I mean this is a story about a women who will eventually want to skin dogs in the future for the sake of fashion I genuinely wanted to see the journey of this person that led to here to have this name that fitted her perfectly but they touched on that and that's a shame.

Manages to work despite it making Cruella likable and gives her a good reason not to like Dalmatians. Since the heist scenes, performances and music choices are all perfect. The direction is fine as well. Except Cruella in this doesn’t want to kill animals and wear them. So what is the point of her name even being Cruella Devil ? It’s like what Disney did to Maleficent who was a nice fairy until her wings were cut off. There was no sign of the evil villain from Sleeping Beauty. Here, there’s no sign of the evil villain from One Hundred and One Dalmatians either. Since spoiler, she even eventually owns Dalmatians. The film does give her a good reason not to like them but this version of Cruella acts like she would never kill a dog. Despite that this is a fun and entertaining movie that really had no point in being made. Since like Maleficent it makes an evil villain good. It’s like if Disney makes a prequel movie about Palpatine from Star Wars except he is never actually evil or the bad guy.

Um filme muito bom do começo ao fim, você fica muito concentrado nas vestimentas que a Cruella (Emma Stone) utiliza no filme.

Better than I thought it would be. Arguably Disney's best prequel/live action re-make. An entertaining ride, led by Stone that is also enhanced by it's design and soundtrack.

Surprisingly really good. Although admittedly not very faithful to the original it still has plenty of references. I heavily enjoyed this film. Sigma grindset film.

An almost perfect film of a villan in the making. The story, the chosen music, the atmosphere. A fantastic film in which a genius's puzzle pieces come together.

I think I may hate "Cruella", but not because it is a terrible film. I actually enjoyed watching it, but it feels like a tremendous missed opportunity. The cast is perfect. This may be the role Emma Stone was born to play. The wardrobes are gorgeous. It feels like they filmed a run of the mill Disney live action adaptation, but discovered it was so boring that they shelled out for the most expensive licensed soundtrack ever and tried to shoehorn the movie into basically being a 2 hour long music video, which conceptually would have been terrific, but because the movie wasn't shot to the beat of the music, nothing goes together quite right. Good on them for coming up with a story that didn't feel too pandering. Props to the CGI team. The computer generated animals and sets did not take me out of the moment. This could have been a movie that I re-watch over and over, but instead, all it achieves is a barely passing grade. I give it a C, if you've already seen the best, but you insist on watching a movie, try this one out.

Cruella shines more in technical aspects but if we are completely honest it falls in any other aspect, yes, cruella is possibly one of the best Disney Live-Action

It's a good fashionable film that is was, in my opinion, better than I expected however maybe it was too long; that might have been the biggest critique.

Funny, entertaining, excellent acting, production, costumes and soundtrack. Sometimes the direction seems lost and the script leaves strange loose ends. But worth your time for sure.

Glamorous and painfully superficial. I miss the time when Disney didn't have to chose between great villains and good stories.

Having not bought a ticket to a non-MCU Disney film since my childhood, I was incredibly impressed by Cruella. Emma Stone provides one of the greatest performances of her career, supported strongly by a powerful supporting cast. Craig Gillespie directs a film that kept my attention all throughout, with beautiful cinematography and a loud, dynamic soundtrack. Putting its predecessors in the Dalmations franchise to shame - Cruella is a fantastic film for those who are a fan of Stone or Disney lore. The film does stray away from many conventional Disney tropes, however, and I could see that upsetting some critics. Cruella wears some of its cinematic influences on its sleeve (I'm looking at you, Joker (2019)...), but it presents an almost poetic story amidst a beautiful backdrop; giving viewers one of the greater film experiences of the year.

The movie is worth a watch from the beginning to the end u might even get obsessed with it a lot of the scenes are take from the movie names 'the devil wears Prada' and a lot of people might compare Cruella with female joker but it's overall a delightful watch the costume designing is at the peak of it's level and the acting is magnificent and u might also find the heavy use of music. U can watch cruella on disney+ hotstar

Cruella has Ambition just like her Mother who is called Baroness which getting me thinking going out a Saying sounding "Like Mother, Like Daughter." if y'all may ask me. Cruella said something like her Second Mother might ending up Lovin' Estella in Shape just so she's not growing up as a Psycho like Cruella's Birth Mother which gets me thinking what if Fathers 'n Mothers everywhere does not want ones Offsprings going through Parents' Paths so Sons 'n Daughters were grabbing shots molded just so ain't walking with a Miserable Journey.

+Excellent cast +Fantastic soundtrack +Some epic costume designs throughout +Exceptionally good cgi used here +Superb pacing +Superior visual presentation in 4k hdr -Some problems with titular character writing I really wasnt sure id enjoy this as much as i did. The soundtrack is relentlessly well chosen and the plot moves with a decent pace with some superb cinematography. As enjoyable as the screenplay was, I couldn't help feeling that the original material upon which the character is based was more of an anchor than not and that if it had simply been any other nameless character i might've been less distracted by its presence. Emma Stone was superb as the title character and in scenes with Emma Thompson showed great chemistry. The whole Cruella/estella writing never quite sat well with me as it feels like there is not enough depth to her motivations to justify most of her actions (regardless of how entertaining they are!). But i just kind of switched off from overthinking this and enjoyed the ride. The soundtrack was so well chosen i may as well have been listening to a selection of 60's and 70's hits for two hours. The sets and visual effects were at times quite stunning. Overall this was a fascinating and well produced work of art and a great movie experience.

An enjoyable movie that does not require us to analyze and scrutinize its fine details. It will only bring you even the slightest ability to enjoy the story of revenge and the birth of one of the most famous Disney villains "Cruella de Vil" led by Oscar winner Emma Stone. The costumes of the Two-time Oscar winner Jenny Beavan (perhaps on her way to third) starring in the movie next to Stone, The Devil Wears Prada oozes most of the scenes and a more frail and shallow portrait of Miranda Presley, delivered by Oscar winner Emma Thompson with the kind of finesse usual from her role-playing, with Beautiful music from twice Oscar-nominated composer Nicholas Brittel. Some events move without logic and some without purpose, but who cares? In the presence of the dominant Emma Stone, Stone is perfect for the lead role. A mix between Joker and The Devil Wears Prada, with a main character more receptive than the first movie and less valuable than the second movie.

I really liked the movie and I really regret not having watched it before seeing the mixed reviews here. I try to systematize the reasons for most negative reviews: 1. Alt-right: "Disney is pushing the modern agenda!" Cmon, this is not the universe of the Witcher or something! Black characters and gays are not in conflict with the fashion industry in England in the 70s. As well as the fact that women rule in this movie, which is based on the world of fashion. This movie was not about war, damn it! Personally, I'm against modern tradition to put black persons where they are unfit the lore. But this movie is not the case. 2. Dog lovers: "I like dalmatians, why she will try to skin them later? Her motivation is unclear." She sees dalmatians as tools that killed some1 she loved. She has the genes of a psychopath. She's obsessed with success in the wild fashion industry which leads her to become a psycho herself, achieving her goals at any cost. How TF can the motivation of a psychopath to make a fur coat out of someone she hates be unclear at all? 3. Fantasy Haters: "This Disney movie is for kids" Oh, really? Disney, for kids? Who would ever guess! 4. CGI Haters: Too much CGI! Agree.

One of the best movies of 2021! Excellent cast, plot and storyline. Maybe a lilbit too much CGI. I have no idea why it has only 59/100 from -payed- so-called “professional” critics. If any one ever cares about their “oppinion”.

Cash grab, thy name is synonymous with disney with a lower "d". I wanted to gouge my eyes and pierce my eardrums through and through. It's only the equivalent **** music video without any other redeeming quality. The PC police was also excessively present to make the whole experience cringe beyond belief.

Well, I didn't see the film "101 Dalmatians", at least not "actively", but I know that there is a protagonist there, "Cruella". I was able to see this film on Disney + and I also replied on "User Score" beforehand and the film does not even come close to 7.2... But. The film looks like a theatrical performance rather than a movie. The actors are a bit run-of-the-mill, but Emma Thomson is the best of the whole film. If you want to see a very good actress, you can watch the film, without Emma Thomson the film would be 4-5/10, but with Emma Thomson 8/10. The film is ok, acting by Emma Thomson is perfect... I would even go so far that she could get an Oscar nomination, that's how good I thought the acting was. The film itself is really something "childish", "gloomy" but a bit "special" in terms of quality, as I said, just because of Emma Thomson I give the film an 8/10...

Let me tell you, I drug my fight on watching this movie. My wife tried to get me to watch it for weeks and weeks and I just had no interest. However, she put it on one morning without saying anything and I found myself drawn in. Overall the movie was fantastic! Not at all what I expected and I was pleasantly surprised by that. The story telling was original and creative and the cast of characters was done amazingly well. All in all I hope they find a way to do another live action 101 Dalmatians incorporating this story and characters

Walking into Cruella I had no idea what to expect. I’ve personally mostly enjoyed the Disney Live-Action movies, minus a few, but reading some of the reviews for it left me with worry walking into the theater. But boy am I glad I took the plunge! Cruella is easily my 2nd favorite movie of 2021 so far. Emma Stone is absolutely breathtaking as Cruella and is so perfectly cast. The film is so much fun and I cannot wait to add this to my home collection.
