WWE2K22 is head and shoulders above 2K20, but that isn’t really saying much… The graphics in this years installment are phenomenal and “MyRise” is actually very enjoyable with lots of depth and entertaining storylines. However, that’s about where the “great” stops. The long awaited return of “MyGM” is tampered by its overall lack of depth and replay value and the fan favorite Universe Mode saw only the addition of a solo superstar feature which completely falls flat on its face. Showcase mode, featuring the Legendary Rey Mysterio is a huge letdown; many of his most notable and career defining matches are missing, replaced my mundane singles matches from random episodes of Raw featuring opponents like Gran Metalik and Samoa Joe. Not only is it a let down but the new controls for this years installment make the mode a total chore to play as it relies far too heavily on the flashy new combos. Returning from 2K20 are lots of bugs, crashes and glitches that make even the simplest tasks like editing an entrance or creating a superstar a total headache. Combine these issues with the loss of many important Creation Suite features, no new match types and the complete stripping of the legends roster, this game is good but very far from great. If you’ve got the spare change, pick up the game and enjoy it for what it is, a base, a building block for future installments…but don’t expect to be playing the greatest wrestling game ever.

This game is absolute trash; it's a buggy unplayable mess. There is very little that this game has going for it. If it wasn't for the really creative DLC )which I did thoroughly enjoy) and the graphical improvements over 2K19, I would have given this game a 0.

Excellent game! The depth and "custom" ways to complete various missions is a mix of fun, challenging and exciting. I had a lot of fun playing. However, I will say that I wish the base story within the game was longer. I beat the main story in a matter of a few cumulative hours. Would have loved to have been able to play longer before being forced to pay to play through the various DLC offered in conjunction with the main game. Graphics were relatively nice as well, could have been a little more polished, but for the first Next Gen installment in the series, I was impressed.

Overall I do really like this game, but the lack of depth in Universe Mode and the inconsistency in quality of player models keeps me from rating the game higher. Though I do agree that this is one of the best, if not THE best entry the series has ever seen, 2K has a lot of work to do with regards to adding depth to the game to give it a higher replay factor.

Overall this game is pretty awesome. I like some of the new features like "Home Field Advantage" and though it was implemented previously, "The Yard" is entertaining. Wouldn't go to great lengths to say that the yard is amazing by any account and I don't love all the pay to play features, but when you want something different to play outside of standard football, it's fun and a great way to kill some time. This game isn't without its shortcomings however, and there are some things that I would love to see handled better such as overall player likeness (more face scan inclusions, updated body types, better/more realistic equipment, etc.). I would also like to see legend players included in offline rosters much like how NBA 2K or MLB the Show handles their legend players. Only being able to play with legendary players in MUT is frustrating. Overall, from a gameplay stand point it's one of the best Madden games yet
