Bad Company has its moments, at least enough of them to provide mild entertainment for roundabout two hours. But in the end, it is a rather run-of-the-mill action movie that has little to offer.

I won't tell you I didn't enjoy parts of Bad Company, because I did. But the enjoyment came at moments well-separated by autopilot action scenes and stunt sequences that outlived their interest.

The motor of the plot, involving nuclear terrorism, not only knocked Bad Company out of last year's release schedule due to 9/11 sensitivity, it stops Rock and Hopkins from sustaining a comic rapport. The waste is criminal.

The main problem with this whole Jerry Bruckheimer-produced mess is that they took a promising comedy setup and squandered it by trying to make a legitimate spy thriller out of it.

The major problem with this alleged comic thriller is it is neither funny nor thrilling. Neither the heavies nor the good guys are believable.

I don't know who persuaded a terrific actor like Hopkins to get involved with this piece of crap but maybe the paycheck had something to do with it. Lots of gunfire, bad acting, unfunny script and a very weak premise makes this a complete waste of space.

Joel Schumacher se vautre éhontément dans la grosse bouse hollywoodienne avec ce Bad company de fort mauvaise compagnie : le scénario a en effet été boulotté par deux guignols qui n'ont pas peur du ridicule ni de la farce la plus grotesque. Chris Rock se la joue Eddie Murphy très agité mais sans la tchatche de son aîné, ce qui le rend insupportable de grimaces et de bêtise. On plaint Anthony Hopkins de s'être fourvoyé dans une telle bouffonnerie produite par Jerry Bruckeimer (ah mais tout s'explique...) et si l'opposition des tempéraments de ce "buddy movie" typique peut éventuellement faire sourire au début, elle fait long feu. Impossible de tenir jusqu'au bout de cette catastrophe complètement débile et aberrante qui n'en finit pas de s'enfoncer et creuse encore : jusqu'où, on ne veut pas le savoir !

It was a shame to see Anthony Hopkins in a movie like this, who the hell thought that these couple could work together?? totally different types of actors, this was a big fail.
