The criss-crossing between drama, thriller, and horror is nothing if not arresting. It is also unsettling.

The potent imagery never meshes with narrative logic in Agnieszka Wojtowicz-Vosloo's first feature, promising more than it can deliver.

Ricci is perfect in this role; creepy goth girl as a school teacher. The use of color to convey temperature is well done. 'Feels' cold in all the right places!

One of the best movies of 2010. Sure it's flawed and yes there are plot holes, but for a small budget indie movie it packs a helluva a punch. The film has divided people... some hate it and some love it, but it stays in your head months after watching which you can't say for most of the rubbish remakes/comic book trash the studios are churning out. So give the film a bit of slack. open your mind and just sit back and enjoy the best mindf**k movie of the decade!

I don't think we're expected to take After.Life any more seriously than Ricci's last extended (near) nude role in the immortal "Black Snake Moan." That one was more fun.

Caught in a pretentious no-man’s land between horror and melodrama.

One hates to say it, but after this and "Black Snake Moan," it might be time for the talented actress (Ricci) to keep her clothes on.

So many horror conventions are at work in After.Life that either the filmmakers are parodying them or couldn't come up with anything better. I'm betting on the second choice.

The dialogue is clumsy, the tone swings between somber and silly and the whole bizarre venture eventually succumbs to rigor mortis.

Avoid.this. Sad waste of acting talent. Ludicrous plot, no suspense, absurd pontificating about people living dead lives. The director may be better suited to be a mortician.

The movie was ok and had a decent storyline. Also is entertaining and makes you want to know what's going to happen but it has a dumb ending in my opinion.

Poor movie despite the interesting premise. Why Liam Neeson wasted his talent on this film is beyond me. The plot was illogical and the ending was so obvious I may as well have stopped watching about an hour into the movie.

This movie is a bit difficult to describe, in that we never completely realize everything. The plot consists of this: after a serious car accident, a young teacher wakes up in a morgue and is informed that she has died. The rest of the film is based on doubts as to whether she's really dead, in her conflicted relationship with her mother, and in her ill-fated romance with her boyfriend. Another thing that hangs in the air but never reveals itself is the real nature of the owner of the mortuary, who may be a man with a gift to speak to the dead or a cold killer. In short, there is a lot here but nothing actually reveals itself, leaving the film in total doubt about most of what we have seen. It's a lukewarm movie, without power or impact. The atmosphere and tension are pleasant, but they never materialize into something. Christina Ricci moans too much and has a voice too soft which makes her a bit annoying. Honestly, she seems horny all the time, and the fact that she appears almost naked in most of the film does not help to undo that impression. Liam Neeson is the best actor here, with a deep, psychologically rich, pleasing and sinister interpretation. Justin Long is fine, but he's too paranoid and superficial.

Do not go see this movie. The trailer to this movie looked good. this movie is so pointless. I love movies like this but this one was not good at all. It is a total waist of time. There are a lot of points in this movie that you expect something to happen but doesn't happen. I thought the movie was going end good but it didn't. I recommend you to do not see this movie.
