I just finished Mortal Difficulty. I want to start with what kept me playing despite the difficulty and some questionable game design **** you like variety in your 2D platformer, this has it in spades. As for the worlds/levels, each of them offers a variety of challenges in such a way that no 2 rooms feel the same. So there isn't really a difficulty spike within the world. It is more about anticipating or dreading the next challenge different from the last. The bosses are about the same caliber. They are all unique with their own gimmicks. That way the game never feels stale. Now the difficulty. There are 0 knockbacks when you hit an enemy. This is probably the main difficulty issue when you have faster mobs combined with tricky platforming. Fortunately, the platforming alone is not insanely hard and most of the levels do not involve platforming with mobs. Basically a very bumpy ride to the boss. About the controls, I'm not a fan of the fact that each game specific actions doesn't have their own specific buttons. It is a very annoying inconvenience, but also a forgivable one, since the controls are mostly very tight and responsive, a bit like celeste. So in the end, if you love platformers and want a unique and different experience, I highly recommend this game.

Wings of Vi gives you that gamer high where you are faced with a challenge and you say to yourself "there is no way I will be able to beat this part" and when after grinding and making incremental improvements when you finally hit that next checkpoint you get blasted with some dopamine. The music and gameplay are both phenomenal in this game and I highly recommend Wings of Vi for anyone who would enjoy a difficult puzzle platformer with cute angle girls.

Wings of Vi might be minimalistic but it's a great throwback to old nintendo plattformer era and is just so much fun to play.

I have a video review here! ****/DMhcURH5rDo There is absolutely nothing negative to say about this game. I would recommend this game to almost anyone. If you enjoy video games, buy this game!! Many people will be scared off by its notorious difficulty, but there is something to be said about that. There are many gamers who prefer slower-moving games, or just a different type of game, and I mean no disrespect; Picross kicks ass. But this is one of those games that I would recommend even to you. You might not be able to beat it, but it's so well-designed that you'll still enjoy it. You'll still appreciate it, and jumping into the deep end may even expand your gaming horizons, making something like Dark Souls seem more managable.

Wings of Vi is action adventure side scrolling game made by Grynsoft. I enjoyed games such as " I want to be the the Boshy" before playing WOV so I kind of knew what to expect from the developers of this game. What I meant by "I knew what to expect" would be because Grynsoft's ability to leave a gamer defenseless crying on the floor with a bucket of ice cream is their forte, as their games have a certain level of difficulty that can drive some criminally insane haha...*Looks at a knife during this review... makes another sandwich* The difficulty of the game is something that can always be worked on with practice, until your stuck on the next part of the game a few seconds later. But its's vibrant and colourful visuals coincide with an awesome soundtrack to even suppress the tiniest rage you may have while playing. I like the fact they implemented a health bar system so you can take certain amounts of damage and not die in one hit, which I find cool as some of the bosses in the game a ridiculously hard. Also the customization of Vi is something I find to be a nice feature as there are several different item pieces as well to choose from. My final review of WOV would be it's a fun little game with some nostalgic highlights from games of the 90s; it as an old-school vibe to which I find is nice as you don't get that much anymore. I rated an 8 as I thought that was reasonable score for a side scrolling game, it has all the elements needed to succeed in the genre and can stand tall side by side with Boshy rather than beneath. With its stunning 2d visuals and soundtrack it can leave you in a good mood until you see the next room. It's not a 10 because i'm a noob and currently stuck and it's quiet expensive at the moment so defiantly purchase when there is a sale on it. Thanks for reading my review of Wings of Vi (PC) Ninjo
SummaryWings of Vi is a 2D platformer in which the player controls the angel Vi, tasked with defeating the Demon Lord Jeh’oul after he is freed from captivity. While inspired by masochistic retro platformers, Wings of Vi aims to cut out arbitrary difficulty in favor of skill based gameplay.
