Warp Frontier
The story in this sci-fi crime drama is nice and all, but a combination of below average voice-acting, awkward-looking characters, and bad pacing ruins it all. What makes the pacing so bad? Boring puzzle after boring puzzle, with very few of them having any connection to the plot, and even less being fun to solve.
Through excellent world building, great characters, and a branching story, you’ve got a great slice of locally-grown sci-fi well worth digging into. Or, pointing and clicking through. And even though it’s held back a bit by its not-that-great inventory system, and a few cumbersome puzzles, the story is where it shines.
It may be a little dense and awkward on occasion, but Warp Frontier boldly flies into some deep, dark places, mostly managing to balance challenging puzzles with personal choices and big ideas.

An Australian space cop (who, you guessed it, likes surfing and Sheilas) is chasing, you guessed it, evil Russians.... in space... Developers, you need to try harder....., 'mate'! Still, the game has a few redeemable qualities and the plot is interesting apart from the above cliches. It's non linear and decisions do matter. The biggest problem is the inventory system and how it's used in the game. Its clunkiness and lack of response. You often know what exactly you want and need to do but spend 15-20 mins trying to figure out of how exactly the game wants you to do it via the system. Some puzzles are logical but tedious and boring. The Australian accent in a space setting is not very 'atmospheric' but kudos for using local talent.

In total, Warp Frontier was an unexpected surprise. This well-written, well-designed point-and-click adventure please genre fans and — perhaps — might even entice a few newcomers to try this storied genre.

Warp Frontier is a nice adventure game that is suitable in times of great adventure game drought. It doesn't impress, but it doesn't disappoint either, so understandably a fan of the genre would be hard pressed not to spend a few enjoyable hours with it.
