Guybrush’s new adventure is every bit as fun as his previous ones. This is a triumph of a game that manages to live up to exorbitant amounts of expectation and ticks every box.

No one asked Guybrush to return, but he came anyway and crashed his own party. In the beginning, you try your best to acclimate to the unusual visual style, hoping that your patience will eventually pay off. In the end, you wonder how they managed to screw up a decent game with such a vile ending.

I've been a long-time fan of the Monkey Island games since childhood, but I refuse to believe this game was made by Ron Gilbert. I was so excited when I first saw the trailer, even though people were complaining about the artwork. In the older games, you could interact with almost anything, prompting Guybrush to make funny comments, which really made the world around him feel alive. But in this one, you can only interact with puzzle items which makes the game feels empty. This game sadly left me feeling a bit empty. I hope they make a better one which stays loyal to old games in future....

Perfectly handled sequel for those who played the originals. I played through those games multiple times but hadn't touched them for decades and this was the perfect way to remember them.

Great game! Continues the legacy of Guybrush Threepwood. The puzzles were much easier now. Lesser puns, insults, and jokes. But still very fun, nevertheless.

Return to Monkey Island is a game that any fan of the series should love (regardless of its initially unorthodox art style) and one that players can tailor to their particular skill level. Having spent many hours navigating its treacherous islands, sailing its high seas, and matching wits (and swords) with an endearingly quirky cast of characters, I can easily say that this is one adventure you won’t want to miss the boat on.

Return to Monkey Island follows the tried-and-true formula of past titles whilst adding a new flavour to the series. The vibrant visuals and wonderful voice acting are surpassed only by the quality puzzles and humorous story. And although I found most of the puzzles reasonably simple, this may be due to my veteran status when it comes to point-and-click adventure games. Return to Monkey Island is a wonderfully nostalgic journey with old friends and new, one that has me helpful that a further sequel is just over the horizon.

For me, it's just "okay". I like the art style. But the game is *very* easy, it lacks the scale and scope of the series' finest entries (MI2 for example, which has never been bested), and as someone who has enjoyed all of the games except for Escape the soft retcon vibe and super meta ending just felt a bit off and discontinuous with the previous games. It has its moments, but ultimately left me unsatisfied.

The worst game of the serie. Short, easy, with zero original idea, horrible graphics and a very bad plot that relies on continuous nostalgia moments and ends in the worst way possible. A few time the humour made me laugh, that's the most positive thing I can say. Only play it if you are a huge fan of Guybrush, but expect to be disappointed.
