But the puzzles themselves are nearly an unmitigated joy.

Remakes and IP revivals may be raking in the big bucks at the moment, but this artistically unique original is the game that really deserves your love and respect. [Nov 2009, p.106]
Machinarium is a treat for the senses that demands more of your brain, a paradoxically gentle yet punishing riff on a genre that, until now, had been revived but sadly defanged for modern players.

9.9/10 - Machinarium is a masterclass in atmospheric storytelling, blending intricate puzzles with a beautifully hand-drawn world. Its wordless narrative is both charming and deeply expressive, pulling players into a melancholic yet hopeful journey. The soundtrack perfectly complements the tone, enhancing every moment. With its clever design and unforgettable style, it stands as a near-perfect adventure experience.

En lo que respecta a point-click la cosa no mejora. Excelente diseño visual y sonoro para un clásico atemporal que recoge una brillante ejecución en relación con detalles que lo hacen simplemente enternecedor.

Great point-and-click game with a solid story and excellent graphics. The length is quite short and its puzzles are generally complex. Some of these puzzles could be described as “happy ideas,” since their solutions feel implausible and it’s unlikely you’d figure them out unless by chance. It has save-related issues, to the point that the developer had to add an option to jump to any selected checkpoint.

Aside from the lameness of the tutorial minigame and the occasional obtuse puzzle, this is indie gold. A fantastic, rewarding, deeply satisfying adventure with one of the most beautiful game worlds you'll see this side of a team Ico game; it's a rare must-play.

Machinarium's distinct visual style and seamless animations are etched with a staggering level of detail, and few games come close to possessing the sheer beauty found here.

It's as accessible and charming as any Pixar creation, and it's completely won over this reviewer's heart. [Christmas 2009, p.95]

It's fun to freely explore the gloomy city now that Amanita Design got rid of their bite-sized locations. This is a full-fledged, mature adventure game. Hang around just for a minute, and you'll take a liking to this odd-looking world.

Those playing for a long time have developed the 'eye of the old-gamer', a sort of skill that allows them to lead back the majority of games to a minimum of seeds that give life to the 99% of videogames. We then salute with joy Machinarium, a modern title that goes back to the past, rediscovering what we could call a casual adventure for hardcore gamers.

I want to describe this game with just simple words. Authentic, Aesthetic and Artistic. Especially graphic and ost music will be taking you to the imaginary world you've never been fantasized. Gameplay feel really unique and enjoyable. Puzzles are hard but not unsolvable and some are even funny. One thing I can bravely claim is that this game is the one of the best thing ever happened in my life and I really appreciate the developers. This is the game once you've played you will never ever forget eternally. Long live the Machinarium!!

really beautiful game and very well done, the art was especially awesome. Overall it just kinda failed to keep my attention as much as i was hoping, but overall it felt like a really well done and polished game.

Wow... Tell me, what kind of game was that after all? The graphics and level of detail were overdone! Also the music was very nice - but these puzzles... the totally ridiculous puzzles! How the hell would I ever be able to unravel these partially cruel mysteries? It sometimes was so hilarious that I started to laugh myself to tears whilst reading the walkthrough. Man, was this game some harsh brain-teaser... For example: At one point you have to go up and down underneath a power line because a bird is sitting on it and you need to get it down. What was I doing? Walking up and down all time with the bird doing the same. I almost exploded... When I finally got the idea to seesaw the robot up and down because that's what he does to reach things high above or down below. That took some doing. But okay, the games is not bad after all, it's... special. Especially its puzzles. So please don't get too frustrated about them. In return the game is very short.

I didn't like it. Useless puzzles and you were lost easily 'cause everything looked the same. It was just frustrating. Really had an unpleasant time with this one, thanks god it was short. The only plus was the OST and the somehow cute plot. The graphism were garbage quite literally, maybe that's why I didn't like them ew.

A pretty looking point-and-click adventure game without any great puzzles to solve (Space Invaders is not a great puzzle to solve). The bonus art pages being used as cheat sheets rather than as rewards for success annoyed me as well. Inoffensive. Two stars.
