The style and mood captures the spirit of the comics perfectly, and having two playable characters is a feature that turned out excellent. It's a shame that stomping through the streets as Venom while devouring civilians can't make up for the repetitive missions and the appallingly short time it takes to beat the game.

Ultimate Spider-Man may look very stylish and visually capture the essence of a comic perfectly, but the gameplay feels like a swing backwards in almost every department.

Did a purse-holder at Activision one day grapple fruitlessly with the last game's control system and scrawl in their subsequent notes "Make the next one so that I can play it"? Speculation aside, someone sure messed-up Spider-Man. [Dec 2005, p.108]

A- (8.1/10) Overrated but still solid. It could’ve easily been S-tier, but the game ends up feeling like stitched-together boss battles and chase sequences layered over dull city objectives. Still, if you’re a Spider-Man fan, you’ll enjoy it — the story is engaging, the combat is simple but fun (especially the Venom fights), and the free-roaming and web-swinging are fantastic. The music is catchy at first, but with so few tracks, it starts to get annoying over time. The city may feel empty, but strong voice acting and a vibrant comic-book style give it plenty of charm. Easily an A-tier experience.

I think overall it’s a good Spider-Man game. The graphics and graphic style with the cell shaded style look good 20 years later. I like how it’s played out like a comic book with the cutscenes and all the different bosses. The web swinging is good, not as good as a comparable title from that era being Spider-Man 2. If you enjoy Spider-Man games you’ll enjoy this one.

A vibrant, eye-popping superhero disc that has more style, wit and compelling gameplay in its first 10 minutes than most games have in their entirety.

A great game engine plus a web slinger equals a damn fine game. Venom and Carnage need their own games.

Es un crimen el que nunca hubiera secuela, y no los comics no son suficiente

Couple this with the brilliant voice acting throughout and quirky comments from the public as you glide by, ('He looks thinner on T.V!') and Treyarch are definitely onto a winner.

The action is fun, but a couple of the vagaries of gameplay kill that. This is a case of an otherwise high-quality game being hindered by a few iffy additions that wreck the whole experience.

While the game is beautiful, and the story mode is a lot more engaging and interesting than that presented in "Spider-Man 2," some of the lackluster combat options and changes to web-slinging keep it from being amazing.

It's best to go at these extra missions and goals in moderation though, as playing them for an extended amount of time can get boring.

One word describes Ultimate Spider-Man: disappointment.

The best game ever. Nothing can compare with how fun my 8-year-old self had when playing this endlessly swinging between buildings fighting criminals that randomly appears on the street. Didn't even do the main game. But the best moment was when I found a bug that made me able to swing to the statue of liberty by perfectly timing rope-pulling the water. great game that needs to be backwards compatible to Xbox one.

This game is one of the best super hero games ever made! In my personal opinion, I still prefer Spider-Man 2 the most, but other than that you should definitely give this one a try!

This game is amazing, and was easily one of my favorite games from my childhood. The novel style graphics are fantastic and make you feel as though you are playing a comic book, which is awesome for me. I have also played Web of Shadows and **** Dimensions (Which are also amazing), but this game has a special place in my heart.

I wish I still had my XBox. Oh, the fun I had. 8 yr old me had a beutiful time with this game, sometimes it got me in trouble with my older sister for hogging the system, other times my parents looked like they were gonna put my talent in the Guiness World Records book. Anyway... Gameplay: 7/10 When I was younger, the gameplay was newest of the century. But when I got older, more free roam games got in my head, so I have to give it a 7 Graphics: 10/10 This game introduced a new graphical style where things looked like they were in a comic book. A good pat on the back to the creators Wish I could play this game: 20/10 Sold my XBox, and it went to my friend, Erin. I've been thinking about just getting another one
