A fun, different racing game. The gameplay is fast and addicting and there's a lot to do. It does get frustratingly difficult, and I wish it looked better, but it's still a game that racing fans should check out.

This huge, time trial-based driving game is let down by budget production values and frustrating difficulty spikes.

If you are looking for a "different" racing game, you will definitely find it with Trackmania.

I grew up with this game and all I can say is, this game desperately needs more attention. Sure some of the tracks can be difficult, but I like a good challenge, and I used to spend hours on the track editor making my own custom tracks. Plus the soundtrack is killer.

Mixed" Critic REVIEWS of this game are laughably bad. Any difficulty spike can be skipped or appreciated as a challenge! Others call it the best on the system but give it a 6-7, which speaks more to their attitude toward the system than this game. ACTION: diversity of track types, modes, vehicles, and the Excitebikeriffic track editor mean this game will continue to entertain for a long time. CONTROLS: Dpad and Wii Wheel both work well. Sometimes the controls feel a little tight but with ever increasing difficulty of tacks this becomes a welcome problem. EXCITEBIKERIFFIC: Ignoring for a moment the Wiiware remake, playing Trackmania reminds me of the original NES Excitebike more than any other game I can think of. Quick and deceptively simple tracks along with the editor are nostalgia gold. The music is almost as catchy too

I wasn't a big fan of the series before, but I must confess : this Trackmania Wii simply blew me away, and really hooked me back up with this special type of racing game. The quality of this game is noticeable in almost every aspect of it, and it's easy to get addicted. With its particularly long solo mode, its build-it-yourself aspects, and its nice online play functionality, it seems that Trackmania Wii will become a favorite for many gamers. It's already one for me!

Frantic, thrilling, fast-paced. A classic Trackmania with a good control scheme and an impressive number of trials.

The gameplay has been dumbed down a little from the PC game but it still works with the Wii controllers. Definitely a fun racing experience!

If you haven't gotten the PC version, you'll be pleasantly surprised by this on Wii - once you've got past the so-so early stages. [Oct 2010, p.52]

In short, it takes having fun extremely seriously. As long as you've got the patience to handle it, you'll find that's no bad thing.

This Wii edition of TrackMania focused on being faithful to TrackMania, even if it meant being outdated visually speaking and too cautious.
